I am wondering what peoples opinion is on Temporary Lockdown for Modern.
I have a Jeskai homebrew that is looking for a one sided sweeper effect and this seems like its could be a nice fit.
But regardless of the synergy with my own deck list I was wondering if this effect would be better than something like Anger of the Gods/Sweltering Suns due to it being able to hit noncreatures like Wrenn and Six/Welding Jar ect ect. as well as BIG RHINO TOKENS

It's an interesting card, and one i've been trialing in Reanimator to see how it plays.
Some notes worth considering:
-
It gets considerably worse if you yourself are playing any permanents costing 2-or-less mana.
-
With sooo many ways to remove enchantments these days (Leyline Binding, Haywire Mite, Prismatic Ending etc.), it's super easy for a lot of decks to get their board states back (granted, a lot of the hyper-aggro decks you'd be running this against wouldn't be running such cards, but anything playing Wrenn and Six probably has answers).
-
Notably, 3 mana is a lot to remove a think, so you really need this to be hitting 3+ permanents to feel worthwhile, and that's quite a big boardstate for a lot of modern decks. This card generally will just hose HammerTime (which, will have answers to remove this), and then a lot of fringe, barely-played decks.
I personally think the card is "fine" but also feels a bit "meh". It is playable, but there are very, very few decks that can actually justify running it. And there's not a lot of matchups you'd bring this card in for (it's assuredly a sidebaord-only card, you can't mainboard this stuff).

definitely see where your coming from nbarry223... the red damage sweepers were just fresh on my mind because those are the card currently filling that slot in my deck... but as playtesting goes on the more and more I want to write a letter to WOTC expressing how 4+ toughness creatures should all be banned. (lol im just kidding)
Oh really wallisface? I was actually approaching this from the opposite way of thinking... like it seems like a great card for game one because for 3 mana there are more possible targets/threats for this to "answer" than instead having 3-4 mana for a Sweltering Suns/Supreme Verdict... and then being able to bring in more appropriate tools from the sideboard game two...Or is this just a poor way to think about cards for deckbuilding?

Icbrgr the problem is that the card is really bad against soo many matchups that its useless versus most decks. Typically you'll only want it against some forms of aggro decks, and it typically will be unuseful/useless against control/combo/midrange.
Generally speaking even boardwipes on their own are a dubious inclusion in the mainboard. Control decks will only run a couple of Supreme Verdict, and stuff like Sweltering Suns is pretty-much never seen mainboard.
So again, I think this is a reasonable sideboard option depending on the rest of your decks makeup and the gameplan you're running. But it is absolutely not something you should be running mainboard.

The only way I see this being a useful mainboard card is if you have a creature you can loop with this for a silly blink cascade essentially.

nbarry223 sounds like a lot of extra hoops to have to jump through when Ephemerate exists.

I didn’t say ideal include, I said useful. It could be a meta call in the right deck, as a combo piece that is anti aggro (not in the current meta honestly).
I also don’t know of any 2 cmc or less that would do what I am thinking of, they are all 3+ and usually don’t let you target enchantments.
It was just a thought for where the card could be good, since you could technically do infinite blinks with something that would exile this back, given you had something else with an etb

It is more comparable to cards like Culling Ritual that care about CMC than red board wipes that do damage. If you aren't looking to be able to blink your own cards, a more permanent removal option is probably better, since the opponent can get their cards back by removing this card.
Don't get me wrong, it is a playable card, but there's enough comparable options that have other upsides in comparison, that I don't think it is a solid option, unless you plan to profit from by using it to blink your own things as well. Especially because for one more mana you get into the board wipes that basically set the standard for board wipes, like Wrath of God and Damnation.
