The colors of TRON

I know RG Tron is the thing right now, but could a UR Tron deck be a thing with Kozilek's Return both early and late game it seems legit. Also gives us pretty sweet access to crypric command and the like. We can still run Ancient Stirrings if necessary with the help of something like Mana Confluence. I also have seen some mono U lists. Are they strictly worse or just a less popular angle?

Cryptic Command isn't what Tron wants to be doing.

If you have enough blue mana to cast Cryptic Command in mono u tron... you've done something horribly wrong.

Can you tell me why instead of telling me "no"?

It is UUU, in a deck that wants to get 1 U or UR and then develop its mana into the 7-8 range using tron lands.

I'd like to consider myself a knowledgable UTron player. I've seen some attempts at UR and it doesn't really give you anything. At most it complicates your already limited colorless mana situation.

The legit reason I splashed red in my UTron build are Pyroclasm, Magma Jet (scry is great to help you find your tronlands easier, decent removal too) and mostly Banefire FFS!

People don't seem to realize how much a Banefire X = 10+ can steal games :) trust me, it does, even more in modern where people lose up to 5 life minimum from their manabase

Mono U Tron will almost never find enough to cast Cryptic Command especially on time on turn 4. If this happens you have pretty much already lost. UW Tron would be similar, and UR tron i can't imagine needing more than one island or mountain either. I play RG Tron but after trying to make UG Tron work. I kept finding i didn't enjoy the control aspect. If you want to run counters with tron though, stick to counters with single Blue in the cost and you will be sound

R/G Tron is 1000x more consistent than Mono-Blue Tron. I also think it's a better deck in today's metagame, because Blue Tron's biggest weakness is aggro. A large part of today's metagame consists of Eldrazi, Infect, and Zoo.

RG will be more powerful than Mono U Tron in nearly every metagame. While denying plays for a few turns can be strong, a Turn 3 Karn is very hard to beat regardless of what you're on. UTron's redeeming quality when compared to RG that it is much less reliant on assembling Tron early or at all.
