There is no banned list...
Modern forum

Wizards of the Coast just informed us that there is no longer a modern ban list. All cards printed in Modern legal sets, are legal in Modern.
Well... There's also a PTQ coming up in your town, and its modern. What would you bring to the table?
I'd play Miracles. Jace, Top, and Ponder being unbanned really makes miracles very strong. What would you play?

Affinity. Fight me.
There's also some consideration to Punishing Jund, Punishing Naya with Stoneforge Mystic and 12-Post, but I like Affinity quite a bit. :)

I mean, regardless, I think the obvious answer is Punishing Jund featuring Deathrite and BBE.

This is just a hypothetical right?
Answer: Yes
Thank god.
I would be playing punishing jund with four Mental Misstep.

Same deck I play in legacy, esper deathblade. fill in the FoWs Duals and Wastelands with modern legal equals. Oh and Mental Misstep.

Oh, i saw that thread. I dodnt think they were the same thing really, since in this one im asking what you would play if there was no banned list. The other thread is talking about how modern would be impacted with no banned lost.

Chrome Mox, Rite of Flame, Seething Song. Go for that first turn storm.

They should just X out the ban list for a month, turn Modern into new-bordered vintage. Nothing's broken if everything's broken! :D
yolo

I'd be all over Punishing Naya...Someone give me Goyfs. It's probably the only reason I'd touch goyf period. Zoo is another

Who needs Goyfs when you have cruise and Stoneforge Mystics?

It would be like a dream come true playing Mental Misstep. No more Path to Exile, Spell Snare, Spell Pierce, and a slightly less damaging Lightning Bolt.
At the same time the only 1 drops I really care about are already banned: Rite of Flame, Deathrite Shaman, and Skullclamp.

I'm pretty sure everything played in legacy miracles would be open in modern except the abur dual lands. So I'd sub in ravnica shocks and play that.

The lack of force of will makes it MUCH weaker against the decks that can turn 1 and 2 kill.

Eh that's technically not true with mental misstep which can stunt those turns hard enough on turn 0 too. I myself would play dark depths, vampire hexmage, thespian stage, punishing fire/gove. Basically a jund/lands deck.

Hmm... this probably means that jace, top, all the cantrips and let's be real... EVERYTHING WILL SKYROCKET buy the whole ban list and sell them later.
November 17, 2014 9:17 a.m.
I was going to say a deck that had the Stoneforge package, then I remembered that Force of Will and Brainstorm weren't modern legal. So probably Punishing Jund.

it would easily become a turn 3 combo format with elves getting green sun's and glimpse, affinity w/ lands and storm getting the most broken mana ramp back.

Not to mention, Infect gets Blazing Shoal and Mental Misstep protection while Hypergenesis is easily a turn 1-2 deck with a pretty good amount of consistency.

modern is going to be MUCH more fun format
forgot about jace.....
