Top 10 Hardest to kill creatures in Modern
Modern forum

Everyone knows the saying 'dies to Doom Blade ' as a generic benchmark to how resiliant a creature is. Although I'm not a fan of that saying, it doesn't go with mentioning that every creature is vulnerable to some form of removal or other, and modern has a crap ton of it. Regardless, in your opinion, what's you top 10 list of hardest to kill creatures in the format?

My personal favorite, even though it might not be a shoe in for top 10 is Lotleth Troll
. My favorite Golgari beater, not only can you regenerate him but if you're tapped put on mana you can chuck creature cards to him for a permanent buff.
Is he on the same level as Blood baron, ghost council and Aetherling? No, but he's gonna hit the board a lot sooner and he's golgari. And that dear friends is what matters.

Sphinx of the Steel Wind avoids most black removal by being both an artifact and a black creature, and avoids artifact removal because it's pro green and red. It also is a 6/6 with flying and first strike which is hard to profitably block.

I'm surprised nobody said Etched Champion yet.
I would make a full list, but I have very little experience with Modern.

Grouped for similar reliance, but all of these are difficult to answer in their own ways.
manlands Mutavault , Raging Ravine , etc
Lingering Souls as a whole card, not just a single spirit token
Kitchen Finks //Murderous Redcap
Etched Champion //Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
Voice of Resurgence //Wurmcoil Engine
Geist of Saint Traft //Slippery Bogle //Gladecover Scout
Bloodghast //Vengevine //Gravecrawler
Everything in the Living End deck

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn If you don't have a way to kill him at instant speed with removal that will actually hit him your basically screwed as the extra turn they get will insure they will get some serious damage on you. The only way is boardwipe, sacrifce, and Oblivion Ring and no playable boardwipe is instant speed in modern Sacrifice is not too common, and Oblivion Ring is a enchantment. Oh and I forgot to mention he can't be countered.

Geist of Saint Traft /Slippery Bogle or any hexproof creature
Those are really the only ones I struggle with.

AEtherling is pretty hard to remove if you have the mana to flick it.

Sigarda, Host of Herons + an indestructible ability like Darksteel Plate ?

I'm gonna have to agree with Nobilior on this one. You used to be able to kill Norin the Wary
thanks to the old legend rules, but gosh dangit now he's a legendary ninja of near invincibility. Almost as powerful as Storm Crow
, but lacks his offensive power, since he is too busy running for his life dodging attacks like a boss.

An easy kill on Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is Executioner's Capsule effects or Mangara of Corondor type effects.

I find Thrun, the Last Troll the hardest card to remove, followed closely by AEtherling .

Sigarda, Host of Herons is near the top due to her reasonable toughness, hexproof and anti sac
AEtherling was one of the few cards that made dragons maze worth buying
And Thrun, the Last Troll had Phantasmal Image as his main removal during standard
Those three are the top when you look in the <6 range
There is also the theros gods which are pretty hard to kill e.g Keranos, God of Storms
