could tribal vedalken potentially be a thing in modern, i know vedalken love artifacts, and i have designed a vedalken deck, but it mainly revolves around going infinite with Magistrate's Scepter , does anyone have any ideas of how this could be a thing in modern

(scepter combo is 3 Vedalken Infuser + Magistrate's Scepter or for more mana intensive style Filigree Sages )

Magistrate's Scepter isn't legal in Modern.

The deck would be way, way too slow to do anything at the competitive level.

Yeah, the fact that the centerpiece of the combo (and of the deck, presumably) isn't from a Modern-legal set kind of nixes the entire idea.

The rule of thumb in competitive Modern is that your deck needs to either a) win on turn 4, or b) prevent your opponent's deck, which can probably win on turn 4, from doing so. The chances of you getting a four-card combo into play by turn 3, especially when three of the cards cost 4 mana and are easily killed (Modern is full of creature killing cards), are low at best. You would be depending on preventing your opponent from winning first, and given the high number of cards that you would require for ramping and for finding your pieces, it doesn't seem like there'd be much left for controlling the board until you can win.

For a casual thing, combos like that are pretty awesome, assuming that they're legal in the format you're playing. For competitive, a deck like that sadly just wouldn't cut it.

Well, Modern decks don't necessarily need to win by turn four. They do need to effectively secure the game by about that time, though.
