Tron lands, artifacts and Banefire deck?

Hi! I've seen a dude playing a Modern deck that I've never seen before with some success on my local store FNM. It used Tron lands and artifacts for mana rampage (sacrificing them and returning them to the battlefield) in order to cast Banefire or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn .

I've been doing some research but I can't find this deck list. Does anyone know it?

Does it run Faiths Reward?

It sounds like RG Tron with an additional win con in Banefire . The basic plan is to search out the Tron lands quickly with Sylvan Scrying and Expedition Map , and then start dropping really high impact spells as soon as Turn 3 like Karn Liberated or Wurmcoil Engine .

Here's the MTG Top8 listing for the deck list.

@LeaPlath: yep, it does, to return all the artifacts after sacrificing them.

@Slycne: it wasn't R/G Tron. The only basic lands it used were Plains (for Faith's Reward ) and Islands. As a matter of fact, the Tron lands weren't as important on the deck as they are on "normal" Tron decks :) The only win cons I've detected were Emrakul and Banefire .

Ah, ha. I found it - http://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=6411&d=236907. I was only aware of the RG and Mono-Blue tron lists.

@Slycne: that one, indeed :) Thank you both for your help. So did I, it was the first time I've seen this deck.

@LeaPlath: thanks once again :)

If I understand it correctly, the best way to stop it is preventing your opponent from using Faith's Reward as this is the key card for all the mana rampage, right?
