Twin or Infect?

Hey guise, I'm currently running Titan bloom. It's super fun to play, but I do get bored after playing the same deck every Monday night. So I'm going to start putting together my 2nd deck and currently I can't decide between twin or infect. I almost have all the peices for infect, where as I'd have to almost build twin from scratch. But I've never played control before. I've also tested a lot on cockatrice and I enjoy both of them. Can anyone convince me for one or the other? Also budget isn't really an issue. Thanks

Infect. If you'd like, check out my deck which can be found on my page.

You can also buy my T-shirts, haircare products and more on my website.

But actually though, Infect.

Infect will slowly start to feel the same. Twin (with control?) will be a bit more diverse, and as it would go, fun.

Twin is the better deck and is a lot more enjoyable deck to play. I've played a lot of twin in the past and it tends to stay fun. I'm currently playing infect and I don't remember having less fun playing magic than I am playing this deck.

i think twin would be better if budget isnt an issue. Building that deck and learning its ins and outs will make you a better player. It is some what of a tough pilot, and once you are accustomed to running it, youll have a better idea of what to do when playing against it as well.

Twin is more expensive but more versatile and probably more interesting.

Infect is cheaper but more boring(?) to play.

Why not both?

Infect is an easier deck to begin playing.

Twin is harder to begin playing, and hard to master.

JexInfinite has a point. If you already have most of Infect why don't you just finish it, then if you really want to try out a different style of magic then go for the Twin deck.

Not long ago I faced a similar situation and ended up doing pretty much what Jex said. In my case though, I built the Splinter Twin deck and bought the 7-8 cards I needed to finish up a modern capable burn deck too.

Infect is a real gamble because you either win immediately or lose very quickly. And that's what makes it so fun.

Twin I personally find to be boring because it relies on an infinite combo and all the games really feel the same.

I agree with FAMOUSWATERMELON, Twin is boring.

If you say that Twin "relies on an infinite combo", then you're not playing the deck right. Recently, the deck has even been called "Tempo-Twin" because it can win through Snapcaster Mage, Deceiver Exarch, Pestermite, and Vendilion Clique beatdowns -- sometimes also accompanied by Tarmogoyf or Tasigur, the Golden Fang if you're on a color splash. In fact, Twin boards out the combo somewhat often during post-sideboard games.

TheAnnihilator Of course that there are other ways to win, like in most decks. But the main win con remains an infinite combo in a control shell. I don't like infinite combos to start (they are so boring), so if you add just countering everything you opponent plays... It turns into a one sided game 50% of the time. That can be fun at first, but it gets quite boring quickly.

Fair enough. To each his/her own.

I just find that Twin is less about the combo, and more about capitalizing on openings, whether it's crashing in with dudes while your opponent has to hold their removal in case you have Splinter Twin, or just out-resourcing your opponent until you eventually combo without focusing much on their life total.

We could have totally different playstyles :)

And hey, that's what makes this site interesting!

Very true. =D

Now that I think about it, FAMOUSWATERMELON, the playstyle difference might be why I prefer Tasigur Twin to straight UR.

Oh, and just to be on-topic, I recommend Twin Champloo, though finishing both is a fine idea.
