if you where to have on card unbanned what would it be and why? Personally I want Once Upon a Time unbanned because it is a amazing non fetch card that thins your deck and not restrictive like Ancient Stirrings

shadow63 its not the most likely to get unbanned it is what you want to get unbanned the most

Pervavita if twin where to get unbanned. I think one of two things would happen. Either twin is too slow and sees zero play or the format warps around the deck

It could be another variation of control, UW control is a player and Twin would fit in with that. Obviously it would need tested but if I remember right a few have played the deck to test it against the current meta and it does well but not oppressing.

Splinter Twin because I don't think it's too fast for modern but I do think it would be played around. If it were to be unbanned I think it would be like Stoneforge Mystic but I don't know.

on the other hand it would mean the twin meme is over if it got unbanned :)

Come on Wizards, unban Chaos Orb, Falling Star, and Shahrazad in vintage! And I don't see why Delighted Killbot is banned either. What makes it any better than Bronze Sable?

Dark Depths, Splinter Twin, the artifact lands.
If Deathrite Shaman was unbanned, then I think Faithless Looting could come back.
Deathrite Shaman is stupid overpowered. But having something like it to casually punish graveyards all over the place would be so healthy for modern. The graveyard has always been to powerful in modern and having easy mainboard graveyard hate in like 30% of decks might fix that.

BTW I have no idea if Dark Depths is appropriately powered for modern. But to be honest, I would be shocked if it caused problems. I think it would actually make for some sweet decks, even if they didn't have the most interactive gameplay.
Without Crop Rotation I doubt it could be that problematic. Elvish Reclaimer and Wrenn and Six would be obvious build-arounds. And now that Field of Ruin exists there is plenty of land hate running around that can mess that kind of deck up. Teferi, Time Raveler and Jace, the Mind Sculptor are also very good hosers for the 20/20 token.

I definitely think that the artifact lands should be unbanned. Cards like Karn, the Great Creator would shut them down and modern has artifact hate. Worse case scenario is hardened scales becomes a tier two deck because of Arcbound Ravager being able to sac land but even that's not too scary.

PitaGryphon definitely not. I wish, but that would definitely not be enough to revive affinity, especially now that Mox Opal is banned. Unfortunately, the deck is outclassed by everything else happening. Adding one decent synergy would not be enough. Besides, the blowout potential of cards like Vandalblast or Shatterstorm destroying all permanents is a real risk for an affinity deck.
I think Disciple of the Vault might be the scarier card alongside artifact lands. But I didn't play standard in those days and don't know how strong the deck actually is.

Unpopular opinion:
Splinter Twin isn’t worth unbanning. When it was banned, it was because every control deck running blue could obtain a better wincon by splashing red for twin.
Even U/W went Jeskai for twin.
Noteworthy: I don’t think twin would be too powerful if unbanned. Modern can handle it. But one of two things will certainly happen:
Anything in U/R, possibly even U/X just has to run twin because it’s at least marginally better than whatever wincon they ran before, stifling deckbuilding diversity OR the walkers (jace, Teferi and crew) are strong enough that twin’s just not worth playing anymore, and no-one uses it.
Twin either reduces diversity or has no impact, and in both scenarios I’d just prefer it stay banned. Birthing Pod is in the exact same boat. Maybe modern could handle it, but it doesn’t matter because the card’s just oppressive from the standpoint of innovation within the applicable colors.

Once upon is probably the least likely card to be unbanned. But I would like to see Glimpse of Nature get taken off the the BnR list. The meta is fast enough that I think it wouldn't break the format anymore then what it is
