I think this is the right place to post it but if not I'm sorry

Alright since Im really confused right now with the modern formatAnd its about rotation....I know they don't rotate...but do they get outdated? By that I meant is our card pool ends at eight edition/mirrordin stays there forever or does it rotate for a couple of years (2-4) into ninth edition then tenth edition then ravnica.....well u got the idea...thanks

no, "Modern" is basically all cards in the, literally, "Modern" format of the style of cards. Nether Void is not a "Modern" version of a card, whereas the new cards have that obvious new look you know. Make sense?

Modern is a non-rotating format. So nothing rotates out.

SpeAking on outdated, depends on bannings and new cards that are developed. But all sets legal now will be until ....ever as far as we know now.

So them "ghetto" look cards like Armageddon don't count if I'm reading this right.....well that's good because I don't wanna make a deck that's full of scars of mirrordin and eight and ninth edition then it'll be gone by a few months/years

The only exception to that rule is time-shifted cards (cards with purple symbol) such as Lord of Atlantis .

Of course, since Wizards of the Coast is the corporation that sanctions most of the tournaments, they could decide to change the definition of the Modern format, or create a whole new format. There's no indication that this is going to happen, but there's not some iron-clad international law that defines Magic formats.

It's whatever Wizards thinks is best for the game.
