First, I'd like to state this is not deck help. There is no list I want tweaked. I want to discuss the above deck archetype and it's recent evolution. There are a ton of lists and they all seem to be all over the place with what spells and combinations of those spells to play. I want to discuss what goes into these decisions and with all the options available to a UR Delver deck right now it seems like a lot to tackle. So many options, to play them all means not playing quite as many play sets as you'd normally see in the build. Vapor Snag for example was an auto 4 of and I'm seeing it as low as 2 in some builds now. Electrolyze is being played anywhere from 1 to 3 copies. What is effecting all these variants?

People are trimming bad cards for four Treasure Cruise. The deck is also trying to cast more cheap spells and lower its curve wherever possible, so Electrolyze will decrease in number (Forked Bolt is a solid option given the strong presence of Delver).

Is this idea of more cheap can trips based around the inclusion of Young Pyromancer? I can't see a great reason to accelerate the cruise into more cheap can trips unless you are abusing the hell out of tokens with it

Yes. The entire deck has been restructured to make the most of cruise and pyromancer. It's a very different deck. In some ways it's traded a bit of aggression for some more survivability (ie. The ability to quickly refill)

Young Pyromancer was always in the deck, as it's the best tempo creature in the game. It's not a particularly new addition. Cruise just makes it better.

The problem I have with the current iteration is that over 20% of the deck does nothing but draw cards. Couple this with the fact that you have 12 big wincons and usually 8 smaller burn spells it's a bit....... fragile. It's really a deck of two halves. Despite being easy to disrupt it also has the ability to quickly draw into new wincons. It's interesting.

Drawing cards is good. Serum Visions, Gitaxian Probe and Treasure Cruise all serve a purpose besides just drawing cards, however.
The big deal with the deck is that it 1) finds its threats really easily with all the cantripping and 2) Protects its creatures very well with counterspells and removal for blockers. Sometimes you just lose to T1 Delver, T2 Pyro + Probe and T3 Remand.

That's true but some decks are faster than that and other decks have uncounterable removal. Some even have uncounterable mass removal. Tempo is so hard to play because you're trying to hit the sweet spot between aggro and control. Too much of one and you lose to affinity. Too much of the other and you lose to rock. Very skillful deck.

Well the old versions that actually ran like 10-12 counterspells were. Now increasingly they're being abandoned for more cantrips. That makes me feel a bit meh because it is sucking the difficulty out by removing flexibility.

Two words, Treasure Cruise.Cruise wants you to fill your graveyard and the best way to do that is with cheap cantrips. That's part of the reason why Electrolyze has fallen out of favor, it's just too expensive for you to cheaply pitch for Cruise value.
