What kind of staying power does Kolaghan's Command have?

I know the card was seeing play in the Jund decks and is seeing play in the Grixis decks right now. What I want to know is, is this just something that's works in the current meta or does Kolaghan's Command have the staying power to be played as long as there are //X decks being played.

I won a foil one tonight and I really like the card (when they were spoiled it seemed like everyone talked about dromokas but this is the one I was talking about lol). I don't currently have any decks to play it in but I would like to hold onto it because I know I will eventually make use of it. I already have a playset of non-foils so if it's current price is just a "meta fad" then I'll try to move it while it's price is high. However, like I said, I like the card and I know I will eventually make use of it. I would like to hold on to it, but I really only wanna do that if it has the potential to be a format staple and is really going to be worth it.

What are your opinions? Is the card just really good in the current meta or is this the type of card that will see play even as the meta shifts?

This card has already proven to be the staple it seemed to be. It's incredibly powerful in Jund and Grixis with every mode working as well as the others. It's incredible and foils will not drop.

Its a 2 for 1. Its the stuff of dreams for modern players and will stay in the format as long as there are decks in those colors and we dont get a cmc2 version of the same card :)

It's a fantastic card that's playable against a variety of decks due to its varied modes AND its playable in a variety of decks whether they be creature heavy or control etc. It is a card that will be around for a long time.

Powerful and versatile card that does a ton at instant speed. Great toolbox card for Jund midrange and the like.

As long as Snapcaster Mage is a thing, it will pair with this card in Grixis. Just absurd value. That, plus the card's utility in Jund as noted above makes it quite likely to have considerable staying power in the format.

Yeah, a lot of folks aren't thinking about Grixis yet, but ever since Patrick Chapin talked about his build for it, Kolaghan's Command has really taken off. And it should, it's a great card. Now if we could only get a Snapcaster Mage reprint...
