What kinds of Urzatron exist?

For a bit I've been working on a mono-green tron (specifically tribal eldrazi) and I'm not sure if mono-green tron is good enough. I've seen mono-blue and GR, does mono-green tron work?
You lose access to those juicy red spells that stop aggro decks laughing at you if you dont go off.

I'd say splashing the other color is just more beneficial then being mono-green. G/R Tron still plays Sylvan Scrying, Expedition Map, Ancient Stirrings, Eye of Ugin to fetch Eldrazi, Karn, Emrakul, Wurmcoil, but with red it has access to Pyroclasm which is a big deal for a deck that can be considered slow.

The reason mono U works is because U offers all the control you need. I think mono G Tron, will work, but against a fast deck it will mostly boil down to, lose on a bad draw, win on a good one.

To my knowledge these tron exist :
the already mentioned
UW using a Gifts Ungiven package
UR using a few control spells and Through the Breach this one is often forgotten due to it being inconsistent
Someone was working on UG version but idk how that went
There's also a mono colorless version but that's boarderline kitchen table and won't do very well in competition play.

VampireArmy ~ though I'm sure I'm not the first, I was recently working on Tron.
It went okay and the acceleration was nice with things like Ancient Stirrings but you lose access to the bulk of the control suite when doing this meaning that it is far more fragile. Tron makes up for this with the removal suite. Mono
Tron has taken the place of my original list but I still put my own spin on it.

I think that tron is a very viable option, perhaps even more than
?

I've seen RUG Tron lists which looked pretty good. Pretty much just the same as GR but with access to Remand and Condescend and stuff. Don't remember exactly what the control suite was.
The sideboard having Hurkyl's Recall is nice too.

Mono green definitely isn't worth playing. You lose out on all of your board wipes and combusts in the board... The deck is already barely viable and relies on combust to stand a chance against twin.

There's still O-Stone, All Is Dust, and Ugin, you just have to find some justification saying that only being green, is better than Pyroclasm.

Some demented soul out there also put together a mono black tron list that can be found on mtgsalvation, but that list is also fringe kitchen playable.

@ThatJunkMage I've experimented with Mono Black Tron, it doesn't really work. It can get some nut draws, but in general it is just too slow and doesn't have enough impact.

Exactly. It's basically trying to build a competitive Tokens deck. The color just doesn't support the archetype.

Well, I tried out a Heartless Summoning/Semblance Anvil Tron variant as well and it worked remarkably well. Just that it died to combo if I couldn't Thoughtseize their wincons and control could easily counter/bounce it's way out of trouble. Killed all aggro decks though.

Mono and
Tron are the most viable and come in at about T1.5 but that's best case scenario. I have found Ugin to be an absolutely beast in
Tron. Easily makes up for a lack of Pyroclasm and Oblivion Stone.
It is also worth noting that tron is cheaper to build usually due to a less demanding mana base. That was one of the reasons I went mono blue. But that's just my take on it.

To be fair, the absence of Karn Liberated also helps a lot with the price of mono U Tron.

The secret to playing Mono-Green Tron is to use Gitaxian Probe and Mishra's Bauble. Between those, four Ancient Stirrings, four Chromatic Star, four Chromatic Sphere, and four Expedition Map, you get Tron consistently on turn three. In a meta heavy with decks that aren't Affinity, Infect, or Boggles, it's pretty beast.

PValBlanc The absence of Karn is for those too depressed by his backstory, that they can't bear to look at his sorrowful face. Those wimps decide to play U-Tron to escape the endless despair.

JexInfinite ~ I would have to say that it's a matter of choice only (though I understand the joke). I actually run karn in my Mono list Ugi-Tron because karn and Ugin both on the field is pretty hard to come back from.
PValBlanc ~ mono can be tweaked where the walkers are concerned because unlike
Tron,
Tron isn't trying to just slam a walker as fast as possible. It takes a slow steady approach to control the game until it can consistently land its threats.
That is all just based on my experience though. Each person will undoubtedly have had different interactions and experiences that influence their decision making. Also meta will play a major factor as well (as I'm sure you're all aware already. Just putting down for reference purposes).

I've seen Rug Tron, Splashing blue, Stock GR taking out a few Chromatics for Pemtad Prism and splashing Academy Ruins.

Honestly, it's best to stick with the most consistent win, and that's RG Tron. Sometimes simple is best.
DNB says... #2
it does- though I haven't ever seen it in a tournament list
