What should I even sideboard against?

With Pod out of the picture, what should I be looking at for sideboard? Pod was kindof a big thing at my shop, and now it's basically an unknown meta (if still a meta at all). So what cards are good against a meta that is entirely up in the air?

Some specific ones: Is Aven Mindcensor going to be good for matches against Tron and Scapeshift? What about Rest in Peace, against graveyard strategies? I expect that Gifts Ungiven will do something at my LGS too (it's everyone's pet deck at the shop that I go to).

(I'm playing Jeskai Contrlol, so what would be good for my sideboard there?)

Sideboard against red aggro decks, affinity, reanimator, tron, and GB/x.

Playing Jeskai control should give you fairly favourable matchups against a variety of things, notably reanimator, and probably scapeshift. However you'll need to get ready for a greater variety of aggressive decks, and a resurgence of GB/x decks. Anger of the Gods may be a smart play.

And tron will be a thing. I expect that

try Surgical Extraction because it's good against combo and getting rid of the Gifts Ungiven problem. Also, just look at Shahar Shenhar's sideboard and use that to start. Use Dispel for mirrors.

I think you are asking what all of us are thinking.

I still have a ton of burn at my shop but Torpor Orb Can certainly come out of all of my sideboards. Pithing Needle can probably come out for my stuff.

Rest in Peace will be very good given that people are going to want to build around Golgari Grave-Troll.

ChiefBell Scapeshift is not as favourable as you would think, Although reolving a 4 Mana Sorcery seems hard it is often easy with the ramp element making winning counterwars easy for the scapeshift player, This is a incredibly hard match up.

It still takes them a fair few turns to reach the required number of lands and then actually cast scapeshift. I mean I'm not a control player or a scapeshift player but it seems to me like you can just sit there with two counterspells in hand and get ready for it.

I mean, Counterflux from the sideboard kindof just says no to Scapeshift. =D

Counterflux seems like perfect SB material.

Lol, I wonder if I should start side boarding Dash Hopes... Usually against scapeshift, they are pretty low on life anyways from the goyf assault. wonder if it will work?

I run Counterflux as well as some boardwipes (Supreme Verdict and Anger of the Gods) for aggro, other than that is is pretty much meta dependant although affinity hate like Hurkyl's Recall is usually a solid pick...

I guess it hardly depends on the field where you will be playing and the bad match-ups of your deck. I mean... I expect Twin/Kiki will be one of the strongest archetypes now, but if your deck is already powerful against it, and/or you don't expect to be facing much of these in the tournament you'll be playing, you shouldn't worry too much with it at all.

If you have no idea of the field, than you'd probably be better take versatile cards and good answers for your worst match-ups.

Jeskai Control is looking to have a resurgence, so sideboard counterspells, etc.

BGx will do well, and Affinity will have results for at least a little while.
