What to build, what to build...

So I want to get into Modern.
For the past three months or so, I've been trading for various pieces for two different decks, but gradually it became more difficult to find the missing pieces. More recently, I brewed up a newer list.
All of them are a blast to play, I've found, but I'm not sure if they're competitive.
I have the ability to begin building any of the three below decks, but I would like your opinion as to which one is the most effective.

Budget Affinity comes the closest to being competitively viable, but you would still need to acquire some of the more expensive pieces to truly do well.

I do not approve of budget decks for the reason that they are strictly worse than they could be. Your decks seem fun, but not particularly good.

Bruh just play Infect, but don't buy the Noble Hierarch's yet, as they are going to be reprinted in MMA #2 bringing from $60 a piece to like 10-20.

I have to agree with JexInfinite. Budget decks are a bad idea. The best answer I can give is decide on a budget, then examine tier 1 and tier 2 decks for one within the budget. There is nothing wrong with playing a cheap deck. But "budget" implies a cheap version of an idea that is better with more value. Nor do I advocate the "tier 1 deck or nothing" mentality of some. I play modern D&T, a solidly t2 deck.

lolwat? D&T (well, maybe hatebears, but close enough) is definitely a T1 deck. Also Kiora_Fan-01 look at what happened to the price of Tarmogoyf after it was reprinted... it jumped. Don't expect Hierarch to go down anytime soon. But my opinion is to build Rampfire which is easily modifiable and powerful.

OpenFire D&T and/or Hatebears are not T1 decks. D&T is T1 in legacy, but that deck is very different. Rampfire is actually not that powerful. Ramping into burn is really slow, and it's better just to play mono red for that.

Um I promise you OpenFire that modern D&T is tier 2. GW hatebears I can see a 1.5 argument but not tier 1. Trust me I would love for my D&T list to be better in the format but the fact is it is solidly tier 2 but I enjoy it so I am perfectly fine with that.

As for what to play based on the lists presented I would advise looking into burn (can range from R to RW to URW) as it is cheap in general besides Goblin Guide and lands in the multicolor variants. You could also look into Soul Sisters which is crazy white life gain and aggro. Technically it is tier 2 right now but it has been doing fairly well so I would call it tier 1.5. Both decks are quite affordable and seem to have at least fringe similarities with a deck you listed

PaladinRyan If you're playing Soul Sisters because it's cheap, you're probably doing it wrong. Without expensive cards for the sideboard, and main, the deck does considerably worse. However, $300 isn't that much to spend, and once you know your opponents deck, in addition to your own, games become much easier.

JexInfinite cheap is relative in modern. I meant relatively cheap. Burn still costs a fair bit with Goblin Guides. Soul Sisters is cheap compared to many decks, such as those with complex mana bases and the like. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Rampfire is the least competitive in my opinion.
