Will the pod meta return?

With the recent success of podless pod in a major event, it is likely that we will see more people look towards this new Tier 1 deck. Will this mean that we will see a return to the meta that we had previously, with pod locking out various decks from the format?

In all seriousness, I don't think we'll return. Abzan is too OP right now.

I think that Abzan is a great deck, but I don't think that it is "OP" to the point where no other deck is completely disadvantaged against it.

4 Birds of Paradise
4 Kitchen Finks
4 Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit
3 Tarmogoyf
3 Wall of Roots
2 Eternal Witness
2 Viscera Seer
1 Archangel of Thune
1 Murderous Redcap
1 Scavenging Ooze
1 Spike Feeder
1 Melira, Sylvok Outcast
1 Varolz, the Scar-Striped
4 Chord of Calling

I think this is the deack he's talking about.

It's a cool deck, but I don't think it has the cajones to be tier 1 or even 1.5. Pod itself was the ridiculous card advantage engine that ran the deck; while this can have a surprise win jump out of nowhere, it is infinitely more likely to whiff or just be bad Abzan midrange. Pod's tutor power is what turned the deck from a collection of decent cards into a nigh-unbreakable toolbox.
Tl;Dr cute but meh

Yeah, that's definitely not tier 1 or even 1.5. Maybe tier 2. But without Pod, it looses all of it's consistency, which was really the hallmark of the deck. Without that, it's just kind of a poorly built Abzan.

Huh. And Grixis Delver came in second.
I think we'll be seeing a lot more of the deck. It's less consistent w/o Pod, as stated, but adds Goyf, which is cool. I'm interested in seeing how the deck will continue to perform. It looses hard to Abzan midrange, though. So much removal and discard in that deck.

I like the concept. Yeah it's not Pod but Congregation at Dawn and Collected Company make for a hell of a "win out of nowhere" that isn't Splinter Twin. And I like how it uses Chord, Goyf and Thune. I may piece it together on MTGo, I think it looks better than any of the mentor decks I've worked on for Modern.

What does everyone think of that Twin/Living End deck?
May 4, 2015 10:53 p.m.
Yeah it does seem like a lot of interesting brews made it into the top 8...as for the Twin/Living End deck, it seems kinda decent but I think it isn't as good as pure Twin, as it lacks digging spells and counter magic.

The living twin deck digs naturally with all of the cyclers it runs. Counterspells are an issue but Ricochet Trap out of the board G2 helps
