would Batwing Brume be a good sideboard slot vs twin?

it just seems like it would be as good as Rakdos Charm against them

If you can fit in Rakdos Charm, it's better. Otherwise, yes, Batwing Brume works fine.

If your sideboard option for Twin is one of these two, you're likely fighting the wrong battle, and approaching the game incorrectly.

The thing about Rakdos Charm isn't that it has a way to turn the tables against Twin. It's that it has a way to do that, as well as destroy a troublesome artifact like Ensnaring Bridge or get rid of a graveyard against... those one decks that use graveyards. In a format like Modern, properly using your sideboard slots to answer as many matchups as possible is essential to your success in a diverse metagame. Batwing Brume has the upside of not needing red to cast it, so if a Twin player sees that you don't have red up he may feel more compelled to attack into 2 open mana. However that's marginal when Rakdos Charm can do so much more.
Also, disclaimer: I'm not a Twin pilot, so my presumption may be totally off about Twin attacking into 2 open mana whether or not there's red involved.

Yeah, Twin doesn't really think about Rakdos Charm, because people know it's not that good in the matchup. You're right about the versatility thing, though.

i was thinking of Batwing Brume in my tron side as a 1 of (instead of Surgical Extraction) vs aggro and that cocky twin player who thinks making 30 Deceiver Exarch will be a good idea only to be killed by it i can make both white and black with my chromatic artifacts so it's not exactly the worst idea i've had and i often hold one chromatic back once tron is assembled for Rending Volley anyway

Twin players generally don't tap out when they go off. Cards like those mentioned above are the very reason why. Combust is the best option.

I don't think you can win this matchup reliably, I wouldn't hurt the rest of your deck to improve the matchup.

I originally saw it as fog with upside vs aggro and in tron Rending Volley is sooooo much better than Combust the 1 mana matters more than the chance to kill rhino as you run bigger things than anyone running targets for Combust

In the case of Twin, Rending Volley beats Combust for the sideboard slot, but combust takes out Siege Rhino very well. I know that's sort of irrelevant to this thread but it's a matter of preference and meta which you prefer. Rakdos Charm obviously works well against Twin, so with that much sideboard tech I think Batwing Brume doesn't really have a place in sideboards.

However, Batwing Brume is loss of life, not damage, like Rakdos Charm. So anything that an opponent can use to prevent damage gets around Rakdos Charm, but not Batwing Brume.

But Deceiver Exarch and Pestermite don't have lifelink so I don't see how that's relevant.

It's relevant to how each card compares to each other

It's just as good as Rakdos Charm.
That is, it's good if you have no other options. Rakdos Charm is the oldest trick in the book, and the Twin player knows how to beat it. If you can play other cards, don't play this.
