Black Blue Pauper Competitive?

I've been building B U pauper control on mtgo and am losing as much as I am winning. The problem is it can be really slow (which is to be expected in an already slower format), or the mana base is screwy. Any ideas for cards to make this viable? I have the guildgates and aqueducts, as well as many blue and black staples like Chittering Rats and Counterspell but their mana cost often makes them difficult to play. I know for certain I need Crypt Rats for board wipe, but that is expensive and I'm holding off on that. Suggestions are appreciated.

We can't give you actual advice unless we see the decklist.

Lol. Crypt Rats are 3 dollars online. Thats not too bad. Also, like Epochalyptik said, we need a decklist to be able to help you really. I play UB online as well and don't have problems with most decks.

Pauper is not a slow format. It rivals modern in terms of speed, with possible T2/T3 wins. Although blue and black do seem to be the strongest in terms of overall strength, with cards like Ponder and Geth's Verdict . In fact, some Ponder and Preordain and even Brainstorm (if you can afford it) can do wonders at guaranteeing you hit the land you need.

I agree with Unforgivn_II - pauper is not necessarily a slow format. Some control decks can move slowly, but infect can kill you in 3 turns easy.

Your deck doesn't seem very cohesive, and doesn't have a lot of combo opportunities. I don't see a strong win con.

Here's my UB deck, which is a variation on Trinket Control that a lot of people use: UB Trinket Control It's more like MBC with a splash of blue.

It was pretty effective against Izzet Cloudpost before it was banned, but it's still a great deck. I've had lots of wins with it.
