Blaze Commando . Would this be a good pauper general for a boros token deck?

It turns all your burn spells into Krenko's Command in addition to being burn so it seems like a great fit.

He is an uncommon though, pauper only deals with commons?

IIRC, commanders in pauper commander can be uncommons. There are no legendaries at common. I believe the rules still stipulate the commander must be legendary for pauper commanders, so I don't think he qualifies.

I don't think it has to be legendary because there are only about 60 legendary creatures that are uncommon. It sounds like a lot but it's really not.
For example there are only like 4 black cards and no orzhov etc.

The EDH pauper format I use requires you to have a Uncommon general, who does not have to be legendary. The Blaze Commando is a fine general. I nearly put together a Boros themed EDH pauper deck using him, but went with the Sunhome Guildmage instead.

a friend of mine has it as a commander for a burn deck. all of a sudden cards like Electrickery , Grapeshot , and Rain of Embers become really scary.

I may have to throw together a Blaze Commando deck now. Originally I had plans for a red burn deck with the Fire Servant as the general. Getting token creatures for each burn spell you cast seems like a better deal than double damage, plus you get access to white removal spells.
Rhinowarrior, are you planning on doing a mix of Boros creatures and burn spells, oir just straight up burn?

Remember, the global burn spells like Rain of Embers will kill off, then double your tokens already in play.

I'm not sure it works that way. Wouldn't it have to specify 'each time'? If not that is a really powerful card, and I am so building a Blaze Commando deck now.

I play kitchen table magic, so I could be wrong...but I believe that whenever counts each instance of damage done, not sources of damage.

@KarasuKame Doesn't matter how many things it deals damage to in a single event.
15/04/2013 Blaze Commando's ability triggers each time an instant or sorcery spell you control deals damage (or, put another way, the number of times the word deals appears in its instructions), no matter how much damage is dealt or how many players or permanents are dealt damage. For example, if you cast Punish the Enemy and it deals 3 damage to target player and 3 damage to target creature, Blaze Commando's ability will trigger once and you'll get two Soldier tokens.

Would Pyromatics Work? Each copied version of the spell would be a separate instance right
I checked the gather for any red damage spells with buyback, Death Spark is all I could find. Seems like it would be pretty good with the Commando.

Yes replicated spells would work to trigger him multiple times.

Chain Lightning would be another good one, as long as you have red mana, you can keep frying soldier tokens to get more soldier tokens.

It would probably fit better in a boros burn deck. Definitely doable for pauper tho. You've got lots of common burn spells to choose from.
