Breaking in to Pauper

Hey all, so I'm trying to jump in to pauper and wanted to know, not specifically what the good decks are, but what the staple cards are for the format. Ie, what are the must have cards for the format?

Are you playing in paper or on MTGO?
I recently started myself and went with Mono Red Burn. The deck costs about $15 total on MTGO and is very good, I'm actually surprised with how good it is for a Pauper deck.
I've played it in a few single games and a Daily Event now. I 3-1'd the Daily (6 tickets to get in, 6 packs worth 15 tickets in prizes, would be 27 tickets if I 4-0'd) and won 50% of the games I played, part of which I put down to being new with the deck and also facing a lot of Mono Black decks with can be wrecking when they resolve a Grey Merchant of Asphodel.
If you're playing on MTGO I'd highly recommend it. It's an easy deck to play and is fun at the same time, plus you can easily add extra pieces in like Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast after you've won a few games to solidify the deck.
