Creating a Paper Pauper Tournament

Hello Guys, wanted to ask for some advice. How would you go about creating a Paper Pauper Tournament? I plan to do so soon at my LGS and have trouble figuring out the prizes and card legality. Here are the ideas I have currently:
1/ Card legality - I plan to make everything equal to the MTGO legality for the first tournament. Then, give out as a prize one set of previously banned card that will be legal for the tournament. One of the playsets will be Hymn to Tourach for the first tournament, for example.
2/ Prizes - I want the prizes to not be boosters or store credit, but rather more Pauper related. I plan to have 2 playsets of cards and a couple of common foils. I want to first two players (3 rounds, then cut to top 4, to keep things simple) to pick what they want off the prize pool, then give the rest as door prizes.
Please tell me if you have any ideas how to improve that structure in any way. Anything goes!
Gary stays, he is actually not very good in Paper Pauper without the bugged Oubliette that MTGO provides. It is simply another corrupt, and pauper has plenty of those already. It is super conditional as well.

Mkay, your call. I'd previously experimented with him (granted, only with Standard cards though) and he was a nice finisher.

GoldGhost012 have you even played pauper? I have a turn 3 deck that can beat gary (izzet blitz), against the Oubliette deck ( I have it also and it's better than what you're giving it credit for Boza). But Gary isn't that bad at all in this format. there are turn 2-3 infect hexproof decks. Then the delver decks are still a pain, counter burn is not fun. Gary is the least of your worries in pauper.
As for the tournament Boza we have done a pauper tournament and, yeah, we keep to the mtgo ban list and rules because that's the only one. Without it, the format goes back to storm decks and mono-u ugliness. We also keep to the card listing, though reb and beb are fine, because of hydro and pyroblast.
The prizes are up to you, but personally, I wouldn't care about a cards that are a couple dollars (1$ for the hymns). Now if you put up some beta commons that are worth a few dollars (like the beb are 6$ each), it's a different story. Remember the prize pool is an important draw. If people aren't going to win anything they really want, they simply won't participate. Boosters and credit are good because a. that's the norm and what's expected. Credit allows them to get exactly what they want. Boosters are the lottery and saving unopened boosters allows you to draft later.
Now, I'm not saying your playgroup/people in this tournament do not want hymns, but I wouldn't be motivated to play in this tournament for playsets of commons... or deck boxes and sleeves. know what I mean?

I said I had experimented with Pauper. Just here on the site though, since my playgroup's not exactly... flexible with trying new things.

I see what you say about the ban list, and I will keep it the to MTGO rules for at least the first one, but testing out what paper offers is very good. I would probably eventually unban Post lands as well, since they are not broken without their storm cards.
For the prizes, I wanted to keep entry fees to a minimum, that is the main reason for the poor prize schedule. There has not been a pauper tournament in over a year in my town, so people are craving it. I want to organize something different and achieve several things with the cards I offer for prizes:
1/ Entice people to build more pauper decks
2/ Make them more aware of other formats - hymn is a Legacy staple, for example. Also, that Legacy cards are capable of being Pauper staples.
3/ Give them options that do not rely on luck (i hate the concept of boosters myself), but I see your point about saving to draft them later.
Based on your input, I will do the rules and prizes like this:
Rules will be MTGO rules, with BeB and ReB included, since they are the same cards as the blasts.
I will be unbanning one card at a time that is legal in Paper Pauper, but not MTGO for the next tournament, in order to differentiate between the two formats. It will also be the prize in the previous tournament to give a person a chance to build a deck with it.
For prizes, this will be the structure:
- Prize pool will include 1 playset of Hymn to Tourach , 2 booster packs, 2-3 random pauper foils. Winner of tournament will get to choose their prize, as well as second place person. Everybody else will get the rest @ random as basically door prizes.
Please tell me how you did the round structure, I am kind of having trouble determining that as well.

Boza he is pretty good, but I don't think he is format breaking. Gary's Devoted Extorts is my take on him.

I would consider this one my 4th best pauper deck though. Not really strong enough for a tournament. I would probably run mono white soul sisters. That deck is really strong.

Gary is a four of in one of the top decks in the format...so I don't know where you guys are pulling this "Gary isnt so good in pauper" attitude. That being said, I don't play the deck myself so I can't speak for how good he is. I'm the jerk that plays Mono Blue Delver...oh well. The deck fits my playstyle, haha.

Dalektable I would say Delver, Fairies, Infect, Soul Sisters, Affinity are all better.

Didgeridooda Delver is the deck I play. Or are you referring to Mono Black Control, what Gary is played in?

I am saying I think they are better then Gary. I think he is good, but I don't think he is breaking pauper.

Certainly not, I just don't think he should be dismissed. But by no means is he ban-hammer worthy.

You may want to look into potentially neutering Gray Merchant of Asphodel , because fuck Gary.
