need deck ideas.

There is going to be a pauper tournament in a couple weeks at my lgs, it's going to be mostly mono-u with tron lands and various other stuff. I don't want to build mono-u and I want to be extremely competitive. What do you guys suggest?

I'm fairly unfamiliar with the pauper format, you can only play common's correct? If so try bant Infinite combo! Midnight Guard , and Presence of Gond ! rest of the build is counter spells to hold off your combo, think of it as a G/U Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker build:D

Yeah that's the thing Patrique I don't want to play counters but something else. MBC is the way I'm going. Will share the list when it's done. Thank you though, nice idea.

actually that list might change in the next couple days. I forgot Oubliette is going to find a home here and possibly Okiba-Gang Shinobi and I'll sideboard the Cuombajj Witches

Ok the list for the deck I posted above is what I'm going to run.

I went 1-2 with this deck. The two loses was counter/burn with Delver of Secrets Flip as it's only creature and really lost to mana issues, could pull a Grey Merchant of Asphodel but not cast it, same with Corrupt . The other loss was against mono-red burn, same issue. Bad mulligan choices also affected me against mono-red. Though game 3, I had 11 lands, 7 in play and 4 in hand, when I lost, next draw was a Corrupt . I played the burn player 4 games, after our match and went 3-1, had the right opening hands all that. But not bad, considering that I finally got all the pieces and played the deck for the first time the first round (where I played a b/g dredge thing that I went 2-0 in that match against. The player of it was a former grinder and damn good magic player). I'm happy with how the deck worked out and something I'll keep around and play in the future.

I'm looking at another u/r build with Kiln Fiend and Nivix Cyclops and a bunch of instant buffs and card draw. (delver is in this one also). BUt that's the type of build I didn't want to run, too much U, diversity

Wanna try something red and tricky? Pauper Gobbos is my pauper deck, lots of fun and tricks to do. Goblin Matron lets you dig for the right card at the right time and the rest has great synergies with itself with sacking gobbos both doing damage and buffing their friends. :)

Jojja what I think of goblins you might have to scroll up.
Also, this is something I'm working with and is more my style.

I run a Naya Landfall pauper deck. It's very competitive and funny to play. I usually play a lot against pauper Tron and my win ratio is great.
