Sphinx of Magosi isn't Pioneer legal?

Pioneer forum

Hey, just a little confused. Everywhere I look on other forums and the mtg website (including banned list) indicate Sphinx of Magosi is totally Pioneer legal, but when I put it in a deck list on TappedOut, its been flagged as not Pioneer legal. Just wondering if this is correct? Or is it restricted somehow?

There's a dedicated thread for these:

Yeah, it looks like from gatherer, that Sphinx of Magosi has only been printed in supplemental products (commander, conspiracy, welcome decks) since its release in Rise of the Eldrazi. So it is NOT Pioneer Legal.

Welcome decks are pioneer legal. Don't know why, but they are.

Well, ooooo-k then. I guess I should have stopped expecting Wizards to make sense a long time ago.

Scryfall is the way to go for legality-checking.

You're not wrong; it's just faster and easier on Scryfall. Less clicks, less scrolling.
