The other one has run it's course. Time for a new one. That second one went through it really fast.

Um... why are we making a new JC? We haven't gotten to 200 yet.

Close enough, the last one went on for a while after the new thread was going. Figured I would give it that little overlap so everyone can get used to the transition.

Sigh, I wish there were a way to link all relevant members... Here goes nothing.

Didgeridooda - put 'all relevant people' within two pairs of square brackets to link them :p

So my wife went and got a puppy (Labrador retriever and Australian Shepherd mix) even though I didn't want one. We have two kids, 3 and 4. My youngest was on the floor playing with the dog, and his eye got scratched. Now she wants to get rid of the dog. Overreaction?
She's barely 9 weeks old. The kids love the dog and want to play with it, and the dog is a little nippy at their heels (shepherd), but otherwise has been good with them.

I wouldn't be able to live with another animal again. Not after being the one to take care of the last few my family has had in the past.

Agility classes are great for that kind of dog. It will make a great family pet, but not if your wife does not want it.
Have a real talk, and make sure you give your opinion on it. If she still wants to find it a new home, it would be best to do that. Maybe she would agree to a period to make sure it is the right choice.

Get a spray bottle of water, Like the ones that have cleaning stuff in them.
You can buy them at supermarkets, Whenever the dog bites at the heel spray it.
Try to take it swimming a lot aswell so it doesn't get scared of water.
Its young, It has to learn aswell.

@Didgeridooda: Agility classes? Weird. I'll need to look into that. I did recently find a nice park that has a dog run.
@bijschjdbcd: That's great advice, thank you (is your name purposely that hard to link to?). I need to grab a spray bottle or two, stat.

Its origin was simply spamming the keyboard.
One user in particular wants my name to be "YoungsterBij" because I once said that I only wear long pants at very formal events or at work.

I despise this city. Pipes are so old that any time any constructing happens, the pipes flood with rust thus rendering bathing impossible. I am not a man fond of skipping showers

Just Chatting III: Try not to get mad at each other, dammit!
This is cool.

Well this wasn't really necessary. We could've gone pretty far past 200 pages.
April 24, 2015 5:36 p.m.
Since this is just chatting.....
What is your favorite vodka and beer? I wonder what I should buy....

We could, but I thought it messed with people's computers so that was the cap.

Shepherds in particular like to make sure they keep everyone together.(Hence the breed's name.)
So long as the kids aren't afraid of the animal and the animal is not acting aggressively I don't see a problem. That said, your wife needs to be comfortable with it.
Just let her know that trying to "shepherd" the pack is the instinct of the breed. If there is no aggressive behavior, there shouldn't be cause for concern.

Favorite Beer: Likely a Shocktop or a Blue Moon. At least of the varieties that you would be able to fairly easily find in a grocery store nationally. I like a good Belgian White as a general rule.
Favorite Vodka: Grey Goose
Favorite Scotch: Glen Moray
Favorite Tequila: Patron
Favorite Cocktail: Old Fashioned w/ dash of Maple Syrup instead of sugar water.
April 24, 2015 5:56 p.m.
Hm..... Grey Goose. Heard some of my friends talk about it! I'm so going to buy it! Thanks!
Sadly, I don't think my grocery store have those beers.... (Live in Denmark.... ;_;)

UrbanAnathema says... #28
NorthernRaven No worries. Your beer options in Denmark likely FAR outclass anything we have in a grocery store in the United States. :) Keep an eye out for a Belgian White if you like something smooth, yet flavorful.

If you're getting alcohol and can afford to, go for better over more. And never touch the bottom shelf.
Also, who likes whisky? (Or whiskey, but it better be bourbon at that point.)
April 24, 2015 6:03 p.m.
Didgeridooda says... #30
NorthernRaven that is a very difficult choice to make. So many good beers out there. All depends on your mood, preferences, and location.
Vodka, I am not as experienced with. Drank many gallons of McCormick's in my day, I suggest against that. Goose/Belvedere are both good mid range options.
Scotch is my current favorite. I don't get to drink too often anymore.
AngryBearTony they take time, and effort from you, but the whole family will be better off from it. This seems like a good example of the beginning.

Epochalyptik says... #31
As for options in Denmark, go European. European beers beat the everliving fuck out of non-craft North/Central American beers.
April 24, 2015 6:05 p.m.
Didgeridooda says... #32
NorthernRaven do you get Hoegaarden it is pretty nice.
April 24, 2015 6:06 p.m.
Well, I can't really afford the expensive things... Therefore, I need some budget good alcohol ;)
I don't drink whisky. It's... A little bit too strong, I think :)
I think I'll just go with my usual Tuborg or Carlsberg (Danish beer). I actually think I can find some Hoegaarden! Need to look that up!

I thought the reason we went to the second thread was because we reached 500 pages, not 10,000 comments. Eh, whatever.
April 24, 2015 6:37 p.m.
ItchiUchiha117 says... #46
No, we reached 500 pages on the last one. It was before we went to fifty comments per page. Still 10,000 posts, but it got to 500 pages.
April 24, 2015 6:40 p.m.
FAMOUSWATERMELON says... #47
No, 500. Because the pages used to be 20 comments.
April 24, 2015 6:40 p.m.
elpokitolama says... #48
First thread: 500 pages of 20 comments each -> 10,000 comments.
Second thread: 200 pages of 50 comments each -> 10,000 comments.
