Played against a guy yesterday. He tried to get everyone to change their turns/choices each time. It was a little annoying.

May 31, 2015 11:52 a.m.

Didgeridooda care to elaborate on that a little?

May 31, 2015 11:59 a.m.

Good noon T/O. I just woke up, went downstairs, poured some cereal, used milk the literal hour before its expiration time feeling like a boss, and then proceeded to try to eat my cereal with a fork. Silly brain, forks are for umm, not cereal!

On another note, anyone have an academic team at their school (if you're in school)? If so, do they have a slogan? If so, what is it? My school mascot is a Pirate, so ours is 'We steal your answers because we're (insert pi symbol)-rates!' I came up with it too. It's funny, right? No?

May 31, 2015 12:05 p.m.

Magicrafter I hate puns.

GAH! MY CEREAL IS MUSHY NOW BECAUSE I TOOK TOO LONG TYPING THAT POST!

4 player EDH game. Someone would do something, and he would tell them to change what they were doing. I would tell you which decisions he tried to convince people to change, but it was all of them.

May 31, 2015 12:10 p.m.

ThisIsBullshit says... #7

Magicrafter can't you eat and type at the same time?

May 31, 2015 12:14 p.m.

So you would play I dunno... Sol Ring and he would say, "You shouldn't play that. Play something else instead."

Sounds like someone I would hate playing against. Though I jokingly say things like that from time to time.

May 31, 2015 12:14 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #9

Sort of with that. Also targets with everyone's triggers/spells. What to bring back from the graveyard ect...

He was a nice enough guy for the most part. It was just really annoying.

May 31, 2015 12:16 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #10

ThisIsBullshit: you expect me to eat AND type on a phone at once? Well, that's actually pretty easy, but I'm too lazy.

May 31, 2015 12:20 p.m.

Also, what's wrong with mushy cereal?

May 31, 2015 12:24 p.m.

Everything. Also, cereal is for the weak. Bagels ftw!

May 31, 2015 12:28 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #13

Crunchy is strictly better IMO. I HATE mushy cereal.

That's me whenever I play my friends. I'm better than them at MTG, so I find it only fair to help them out.

The inventor of the first pun died a horribly painful death

That was one killer pun

May 31, 2015 12:39 p.m.

Magicrafter my high school has an Academic Challenge Team, although I'm not in it. I used to be on the debate team, and our motto was: "We're masterdebators, and we don't jerk around."

May 31, 2015 12:41 p.m.

Novice: that's amazing

Canada: true story but my parents never buy me bagels :(

May 31, 2015 12:43 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #18

I eat cereal dry, and have a glass of milk next to me. Prevents soggy cereal.

May 31, 2015 12:44 p.m.

I think I'm going to work towards build a Delver deck.

May 31, 2015 12:56 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #20

I'm building my Norin the Wary deck, such a surprisingly strong deck lol

May 31, 2015 1:02 p.m.

I think I'm going to work towards getting the damn Blood Moons for my burn sideboard.

They're the last things I need before that deck is done for real.

May 31, 2015 1:04 p.m.

I have found that blueberry Red Bulls are delicious. Hmmm... Vaguely reminds me of muffins.

May 31, 2015 1:09 p.m.

sirbar says... #23

Canadian, what format? and if modern why temur?

May 31, 2015 1:45 p.m.

sirbar It'll be Modern. And because I actually like Delver lists. Temur, just because I want something different. I'm praying that BFZ brings back the fetch lands so that Modern becomes even cheaper. I might go with Grixis, buuuut I'm not quite sure.

May 31, 2015 1:48 p.m.

sirbar says... #25

But temur makes you run goyf, and that's just rude to your wallet. But if you do decide to go with temur and you are running young jeezy I would suggest Atarka's Command because it is awesome and usually at least a Lava Axe.

I'm running grixis, or at least will be once I get the last couple of cards. It's pretty cheap and does well as well as being fun to play.

And wait didn't say green was the devil?

May 31, 2015 1:55 p.m.

It is, but anything with Blue sanctifies whatever evil may lie within.

May 31, 2015 2:01 p.m.

sirbar says... #27

But blue is as evil as it gets. Looking at you Force of Will.

May 31, 2015 2:03 p.m.

Blue is the most glorious thing to grace Magic. I can't abide people who call it "unfair".

May 31, 2015 2:04 p.m.

sirbar says... #29

I didn't say unfair, I said evil. Join black, we are unfair and we have cookies. We'll let our opponents play things but kill them as soon as we see them. oh and we draw cards too.... so yeah.

May 31, 2015 2:23 p.m.

Blue is a very fair color. It says, "Nobody gets to do anything..." What's more fair than that? Equality FTW.

Scorprix says... #32

Thanks yeaGO! Good to know!

Force of will is a bad card that people are forced to play coz turn 1 combo is a thing

May 31, 2015 2:58 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #34

People are too obsessed with small card advantage. If you get two for one'd but it saves you from losing the game, it's a good trade. Force is an amazing card that punishes you for playing poorly while saving you from losing.

May 31, 2015 5:23 p.m.

Except that it was super expensive because it was an express... And I can't refund it...

May 31, 2015 5:28 p.m.

@tyforthevenom

"Force of Will is a bad card"

May 31, 2015 5:34 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #42

it is, so says most legacy players, it would not be played it there wasn't a chance of being killed turn 1 or it would see less play "i'll exile this card that's just as good as the card you're casting and pay 1 life to counter that spell"

May 31, 2015 5:47 p.m.

tyforthevenom says... #43

may aswell read "well you'd rather do better things but you are forced to cast this card or your opponent will win"

May 31, 2015 5:55 p.m.

bigguy99 says... #44

Oh boy.

May 31, 2015 5:58 p.m.

@ tyforthevenom

Here's the rub. Force defines what you can and cannot do in Legacy and Vintage. Without it, both formats would just be what deck can go off turn one and the dice roll would be a coin flip to determine the winner. But, other than that, being able to not leave mana up and still counter a spell is a huge part of both formats, hell, it's why people run Daze. I still get to be aggressive as a Delver player because I likely have Daze or Force of Will backup. Even if turn one combos didn't exist, it would still see play if only for that reason. Are their matchups where I side it out? Yes. Does that make it a bad card? No.

May 31, 2015 5:58 p.m.

Idk Ty a card that says "your opponent can't win this turn" seems pretty good.

May 31, 2015 6:04 p.m.

bigguy99 says... #47

So Force of Will is the same as Angel's Grace?

May 31, 2015 6:06 p.m.

sirbar says... #48

Y'all are crazy. Force is bonkers. Also I haven't heard someone say "here's the rub" since I read hamlet.

May 31, 2015 6:08 p.m.

Honestly, most people I know who call Force a bad card are the people who usually Force the wrong card when playing against ANT.

May 31, 2015 6:09 p.m. Edited.

bigguy99 says... #50

Obviously Forcing Tendrils is the best plan.

Really though, what is the best card? I'm thinking either one of the earlier rituals or Ad Nauseam.
