Oh, my mistake. Yea if you have a link i'd be interested to find out why men specifically buy more porn than women. Think that would be an interesting read.

I'm actually going off of memory here. This research was done about 3 months ago when I studied on the aspects of prostitution and whether or not it being legal helps with the rape issue. Unfortunately there is like no information on this and it eventually turned to be what people only care about: the connection between prostitution and that it encourages sexual trafficking. I did a lot of research on male sexuality because ultimately, finding a reason as to why men consistently bought prostitutes (the reason: most men don't know why. Which is why scientists think the purchasing is the result of an emotional need) would have been a great contributor in the paper I was writing.
Okay, I'm drabbling on. Back on topic. A potential theory is that the quality and length of purchased visual stimuli is more than the free stuff. And if we take into account that visual stimuli is preferred among men, it would make sense that they would pursue the better quality stuff. You actually can notice this in the small time scale on image sites like the booru ones. Men will consistently ask for the sources of the images to watch the full length video.
As for the comparison on women, the reasons could be defined in the same way that men's reasons are defined: through their psychological sexual arousal. Most of a woman's arousal comes mentally after some "poking and prodding". In this women don't need to see the full length video and would prefer to a short image. The short image doesn't display the sexual objectification that would occur in the full length video that could turn a woman off, and it also allows her to explore her mental fantasies and let her delve into her own arousal.
However! Another reason could be because of the general lack of porn that is made for women. I think we can all agree that porn is made with men in mind and it is very hard to find things for women. However, you'll find a lot of female users on the booru image sites I mentioned before; and if you examine images versus the purchased porn stuff, the images are a lot more likely to cater to a feminine appetite than a masculine one as they focusing on things like eroticism and couples arousal.
Another explanation could be because of some sort of prostitution effect. Simply, why pay for something when you are known to be the ones to sell it?
Full reasons aren't really known. Like I said, male sexuality is shrouded and unclear. We'll come to the answers in time, but I think much of it will be done after we change the sexual attitudes of men through a healthy dose of sexology classes in highschool.

Oh, another reason could be because of the social standard of masturbation and masculinity. In this, a social perpetuation that men need to masturbate to be masculine, and that it is a rite of passage to get through puberty. You can combine this with the belief among men that they are always looking for sex.
Don't forget that these are averages and utilize standard deviation. They don't apply to every single man in existence.

I went to a private Christian school... Shrouding sexuality in shame and making it off limits in conversation hasn't helped anyone I went to school with. My girlfriend, however, is quite understanding. We've had long conversations on the topic.
Beyond the obvious need for education on protected sex to prevent "oops a baby" incidents, few of my old friends from high school have the first idea of what to do with a woman or whether they are normal. I fear it's much worse for the girls coming from that school.
Of course, couldn't one say that part of the appeal of sex is that it's private and, in a sense, exotic? The fact that the term "dirty" is synonymous with "sexy" seems to illustrate this.

No. And we went through this. That method makes assumptions that you cannot make.
I will type out a section on my laptop about why generalising is ok and why studies are fine. A lot of guys say things like 'but you know you can't just go on the studies' for various reasons; when actually you can.
It's quite easy to explain.

Femme_Fatale - It is considered offensive to assume that the sexual demographics of the trans community are wildly different to that of the cis community. Most studies have found that in terms of basic psychological attributes trans women are equivalent to cis women, and trans men to cis men. I will have a look for you, but the general rule of thumb is that they are not significantly different.

Why is it offensive ChiefBell? Among all the trans that I know it is practically a given. Especially considering how it changes during transition.
And JexInfinite, the "serious time" thread is actually meant to be only for things of lengthy debates and arguments that people had because they put the mood of the chat for everyone else in a negative mindset. This "sex chat" that you hate just because you don't like sex or porn does not fall into this category. And if you noticed, it wasn't really a debate or argument, but a group of people contributing towards a central idea as we were all interested in the topic.
