I'm going to be in Napa, perhaps or perhaps not participating in underage drinking. But it will be classy underage drinking at the very least.

Some lady filed a complaint against me because she had to walk around the register to put two bags of groceries into her cart. Ten fucking feet to walk around a counter and get two groceries and she complains about it? I fucking hate people like this. They weren't even heavy and she was perfectly capable of carrying them.

Well, guys, my college has my AP scores.

I got a 2 on US Gov, so I guess my dick art didn't work.

I got a 3 on chemistry. ThisIsBullshit, I'm actually dying right now from excitement. I thought I got like a -1 or something.

I got a 4 on Microecon, so I guess my Dick Game Theory rendition worked.

And 4 and 5 on Calculus AB and Stats, repsectively.

Also, happy birthday, GlistenerAgent!

July 1, 2015 10:11 p.m.

Woah holy shit that was fast lol I don't get my scores until the seventh

July 1, 2015 10:21 p.m.

My AP scores:

APUSH - 5; This was a sweat. Very happy.

BC Calc - 5; No one from my school has ever gotten a 4 since 2006.

Java - 5; Easiest one.

Physics - 5; Surprisingly easy given how bad I am at physics.

Nailed it.

July 1, 2015 10:24 p.m.

NoPantsParade says... #12

I think College Board sent our scores to our college early or something, so I found them there. I started flailing and jumping around after I saw my chemistry score though. Turned a shittastic day into an okay day. yay

July 1, 2015 10:26 p.m.

Wooo! Go you guys! :)

I heard APUSH was bad this year because they went all analytical on your asses this year. Ours was memorize facts then memory dump afterwards. But congratulations on those. Here's a pro tip for when you're a senior: draw dicks on the political cartoons for US Gov should you take it. Make them detailed and very provocative.

July 1, 2015 10:29 p.m.

Wow if we're bragging about AP scores, I got a 4 on APUSH and a 3 on Chem. Average colleges, here I come!

My mom told me I had to start writing reasons colleges might want me. Here's what I have so far:

I was on a LEGO robotics team in 4th grade

Does MIT have a LEGO robotics major?

NoPantsParade says... #17

HerderOfNerf, I got a 3 on APUSH and still got into an excellent college. Hell, AP scores don't really mean shit outside of getting credit. But if something is related to your major, you should probably just retake it. People might tell you differently, but that's just my opinion, I suppose. For instance, I actually got credit for CHEM 101 without the lab with a 3 at my school, but I'm still going to take it so I don't get railed in CHEM 102 since I want to do pharmacy.

July 1, 2015 10:35 p.m.

Unfortunately, my APs next year are Chem, Enviro, Econ, Psych. No dick art for me. There's also this cool MV thing I'm doing at Harvard with my other accelerated bros (and broettes), plus college apps... Bleh.

People who are starting college next year: Where?

July 1, 2015 10:37 p.m. Edited.

Wow okay now I feel like an idiot, everybody be taking like four AP classes

ThisIsBullshit ikr? Just gimme Calc and World History, I'll like take bs classes other than that.

July 1, 2015 10:47 p.m.

Never commented on the JC threads, soooo

Hi guys. I'm duct. I'm going to be a junior in college in the fall. I'm majoring in MechE and minoring in math.

APs? Meh. I had a lot of fun with them once I found out that the school I committed to didn't take the credit. It turned out that the majority of the AP and college courses I took in high school meant jack to the university I attend.

July 1, 2015 10:55 p.m.

6tennis says... #22

I'm going into 9th, and I'm taking AP Music Theory. That's...pretty much it.

July 1, 2015 11:01 p.m.

Wait wait ducttape you're majoring in mechanical engineering?? That's what I was thinking about going into once I go off to college.

July 1, 2015 11:04 p.m.

That I am, ThisIsBullshit. Planning on an Aerospace concentration.

I'd be happy to answer any questions, although the curriculum can vary a lot depending on the college.

GlistenerAgent: I'm attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The one that gets shit for cheating.

You can always draw dick art and cross it out. I did that with my game theory diagram when it asked to draw a new one after stuff happened, so I drew two different dicks for each outcome then crossed it out and drew an actual diagram. But to be on the safe side, don't do it.

July 1, 2015 11:24 p.m.

sirbar says... #30

At the moment the plan is to go to the peace corps after high school. Figure out the rest from there. Maybe somewhere medical? I have been raised with it and teaching classes with my dad since i was 13, so maybe. I'm not sure, I've never known what i want to do with my life.

July 1, 2015 11:39 p.m.

My favorite part about college is that I do everything on my own time. None of that 7:30-2:05 crap. Nothing beats home-cooked meals though.

I actually almost took courses at Harvard this summer too, GA. I'd be interested to hear which classes you're taking as well. Sadly they didn't offer the courses I was looking to take... The Cambridge area is a lot of fun in the summer, there's so much going on.

July 1, 2015 11:40 p.m. Edited.

GoldGhost012 says... #32

My home-cooked meals usually amounts to ramen... next year though. Next year I'll be forced to learn to cook at least basic shit. Should be fun until I destroy an oven/stove/grill.

I need to figure out how to take time out of the day to review shit though. Killed me last year.

Just curious, did you guys join a fraternity? Or any pro tips for college, in general?

July 1, 2015 11:49 p.m.

@ GoldGhost012 -- Last semester I got way out of rhythm. Started studying way too late for easy classes and screwed myself over. I had reasons, but it was a big wake up call for this semester. Apparently I'm to expect at least 20 hours of homework per week for CAD. Yipee, I gotta get on top of everything.

I did not, NoPantsParade, but many of my friends did. At this point a large number of my friends are in the same fraternity, so at times I'm a brother without being a brother. It can be very rewarding.

My tip: take care of yourself. Eat properly, study, get some sleep, don't do anything too stupid. Make sure you are who you want to be, and don't get peer pressured into things you don't want to do. It's easy to say no, and often times your friends will bug you that day/night, but the next day respect that you do what you want.

Oh, and have some fun. It's easy to get Buried Alive in your work, but it's crucial to take a break. Play some Magic. Go to a party. Go out to eat. Anything, but make sure to leave your books for a while.

I have to get up in about 3 hours to catch a flight to San Francisco. Fare ye well, everyone.

And thanks for the tips, ducttapedeckbox. I'm pretty good at holding my own when it comes to that stuff anyways. I'm not too big on drinking. I'm just going to kind of do my own thing. It's a pretty diverse and large college, so I'll find my fellow brethren.

xzzane says... #36

I went to a college that's way easier than what I should have gone to. I don't regret it though since I've made some great friends. Plus not having to study at all and still make mostly As is pretty great.

July 2, 2015 12:07 a.m.

I still am unsure whether or not I'll be attending college. So many career choices, so much time to think about them.

My cousin's totally bangable ex-fiance just called me hot, and has been flirting with me for several days. Do I take advantage of the opportunity to hit up a long-time crush or nah?

July 2, 2015 7:49 a.m.

I'm taking an advanced Statistics course (which is super dumb because I've still already learned most of it in high school), and a class called Spaces, Mapping and Intro to Proof. Group Theory and things. I was interested in taking Organic Chem, but somehow didn't meet the prereqs.

Also, yesterday I got a girlfriend. Checked that milestone off.

July 2, 2015 10:19 a.m.

Just wanted to see how that would look on my screen. I kid, I kid. :)

kyuuri117 says... #41

Sparda1127 if she broke it off with him, that is a resounding fuck no. I honestly couldn't think of many worse things to do to someone you care about even slightly.

If he broke it off with her, it's very very likely she's flirting with you to get back at him. And while he dumped her, I'd still ask him if he would care.

July 2, 2015 1:07 p.m.

Sparda1127 Yeah. No. You don't do that to family mate.

As a newly university graduate I must say my experience was different. I am actually quite capable of cooking my own meals. Also can someone please tell me why Americans lump universities and colleges under the umbrella term college!?

July 2, 2015 5:31 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #43

Because we wanna be difficult.

July 2, 2015 7:24 p.m.

Because a lot of people don't even know there's a difference. Places like Dartmouth College probably contribute to this.

July 2, 2015 7:36 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #45

And really it's no use asking us why we do things differently, we have no fucking idea since those were all implemented waaaaay before our times. We're all confused as much as the rest of the world is.

July 2, 2015 7:40 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #46

...a university is made up of colleges. Like, the university of, say, michigan will have a college of physics, biology, etc. It's just bigger, and more focused. Students generally go to universities if they know what they want to study right off the bat, or they want or have to go to a state university to avoid higher tuition costs and subsequent student loans. Universities can be private or state run.

Colleges in the US are generally called Liberal Arts Colleges, because you get a much more generalized education. You have required credits on top of the credits your major requires. Even if you are majoring in psychology, you need to take other classes such as language, philosophy, maths, etc. to give you a more rounded education, on top of your focused major. Colleges at private. If there are any that aren't, I haven't heard of em.

Universities have like 5-30k students. Sometimes more. Liberal arts colleges generally have 1-2.5k. Of course, the numbers can vary.

To answer your question in a shorter manner, we use both terms because in America they refer to differnt things. Both are higher education, but they go about it differently.
