How was prerelease for y'all? I was kinda angry, I didn't know you had to pre register for it, and I got stuck with green. My promo was Nissa though, and I actually had a pretty good pool. I went 4-1 then in the first round of top 8, lost g3 because I accidentally left 
instead of open for Celestial Flare and I lost. Though admittedly I deserved to lose for making a mistake that stupid.

Don't worry, I fetched for the wrong shock land, fetching Stomping Ground instead of Sacred Foundry, and didn't notice it until I shocked myself, causing me to lose since I couldn't cast Lightning Helix. And this was at GP Charlotte playing a Burn deck.
That's rough though.

It was OK. Got an Erebos Titan and a Starfield of Nyx, plus a Languish. Traded some stuff in to basically get all the value needed for budget U-Tron. Some guy got a promo Liliana and a foil Kytheon. The luck was real.

Mine went well, came in third. Promo was a misprint foil nissa. The date stamp was there but it didn't have any gold coloring, just an imprint. Very subtle but cool.
Got an avaricious dragon and a Gideon from the packs I won from getting third.
So yea, overall, great prerelease.

I can't wait to test Gideon in a bant megamorph deck. Fills the same role as Fleecemane Lion as the low drop hard to kill thing that can get even harder to kill. Also has some silly synergy with ojutai and/or the deathmist / den protector thing.

I figured I'd offer some advice about commons and uncommons to anyone planning on doing sealed later today Sunday or draft or whatever.
As far as white goes, Sentinel of the Eternal Watch is probably the best uncommon in white. Play all you can get, and kill it asap if possible if your opponent has it. Swift Reckoning is the best white removal card, play it. War Oracle is super solid, play it. And Topan Freeblade is prob the best common creature.
For blue, not an uncommon, but Willbreaker is the best rare in the set. By a long shot. Probably the best card period. Sphinx's Tutelage is insane, especially in multiples. Blue mill is a legit archetype. Whirler Rogue is really damn good, and as anyone who played theros limited knows, the Sigiled Starfish is amazing. The best blue common is Separatist Voidmage. It's huge tempo and since there are so many thopters, it's also a kill spell.
In green, Skysnare Spider is very good. It's a bomb by itself. In fact, so is Rhox Maulers. Undercity Troll is insane. Very, very few things in the format get rid of it. Caustic Caterpillar is much better than you'd expect, and Llanowar Empath is fantastic. Pharika's Disciple is greens most common removal spell as for whatever reason it's more common than the fight spell, but it's good. Not mind blowing, but very solid.
Bounding Krasis and Citadel Castellan were the only two multicolor cards I used, but they both felt like rares. Prioritize them if they are in your colors.
For artifacts, Throwing Knife is amazing. Every deck wants one. Use it, seriously. Also, War Horn and Chief of the Foundry are insane with ornithopters. Lastly, Guardians of Meletis is a bomb. At common level. Seriously. It shuts down so many things in this format it's insane. Get as many as you can for side boarding, and you might even want one or two main if you're control.
That's all I've got, black seems weak in commons and uncommons and red is for little bitches. Don't draft em unless you you've got awesome rares or are going UR artifacts.

Can confirm that Sentinel of the Eternal Watch is better than 80% of the rares in the set. My MVP was Managorger Hydra, if you cast him on curve, and he survived a turn, you just won the game, like there's nothing they can do about it. Gideon's Phalanx also saved me a couple games.

HerderOfNerf Dude that hydra is insane. I was simic yesterday, and my best opening was T2 Scryfish, T3 Hydra, T4, Separatist Voidmage. He didn't have a kill spell and the game basically steamrolled from there into a flipped nissa and a Rhox Mauler.

I should probably stay off the forums in the next few weeks. It seems set releases bring out the worst in me because everyone starts talking about bans and unbans and Wizards... and I just start thinking about how much I dislike recent things Wizards has done, or is currently doing.

sirbar didn't have time for Saturday ones (work/grad party/MTG tournament) and the Sunday ones were all 2HG, which I don't really enjoy.
Also, this set doesn't have anything super cool for my decks except maybe Korthoped

@Magicrafter - Just pointing out, Kothophed reads "permanent owned by another player," so if you want to do the work to take your opponent's creatures and sac them, you can get draws. For reference: Kothophed, Soul Hoarder.

Yeah, but mono-black doesn't have a lot of good steal effects. I could build a janky grixis with Control Magic/Act of Treason effects, Kothoped, and sac outlets.

Speaking of MLG remixes, for a Spanish project we had to come up with an invention and at the end of the presentations, we voted on the best invention. Our group came up with a cardboard box. It was just a box - nothing else. It was a cube, so it was even cooler. But for our advertisement, we did an MLG remix with the box. Obviously we won best invention, beating all the groups who actually put effort into their inventions.
Scorprix, you would appreciate this.
But I think my favorite one is the Monopoly MLG one, even though I haven't seen them in a while.

Came in third again today at sealed, like 65 people in the tournament. Got 12 packs as a prize but it was all garbage. Did pull a second foil nissa in my sealed pack though. Awesome weekend.

Nope. We just added explosions, flashing and obnoxious lights, and some dubstep. It wasn't full out MLG because it was a grade and had to be somewhat intelligible. We were pretty much on the line of intelligible and whut.
