CanadianShinobi Of course there was propaganda involved, but that doesn't stop the fact that the people took down one of the king's most powerful symbols, wether they were aiming for that or not. Going up against a royal fortress is nothing small. It shows how "motivated" the people were, how desperate, and it was a major morale boost, which is also important.

Does anyone know some good Group Hug commanders? I already know about False God, Hippo Phil, and Selvala.
@OHTHEAWESOMENESS, I'm not much for competitive play, but I could try helping out.

So, one more thread is about to explode into an argument. The one about breaking news. Hey, that's what you get when you mix politics with an MTG site.
Also, nice article Epoch. And person who did it, obviously.

So, the guy with the Roon deck tried to convince me that I should skip straight to building Derevi Stasis deck.
On a related note, what does one do when they find out a friend is a Sith Lord?

Ohthenoises, I'd be willing to help. I'm fairly familiar with the standard metagame, although I've never been able to play competitively with any degree of success.
July 14, 2015 10:33 p.m.
I'm honestly surprised that like, no one at all in my playgroup went Derevi once commander tucking stopped being a thing. Derevi is clearly the strongest general at the moment and deserves a ban, but well, I guess everyone's forgotten about the no more tuck rule. Can't complain honestly... maybe I should just take advantage of it and build derevi myself.

To be frank, the absolute overwhelming control you have with bant is the exact reason I play it in EDH.
You ever get Prophet of Kruphix, Yisan, the Wanderer Bard, Mistmeadow Witch, and Glen Elendra Archmage onto the field at once, you don't lose. Doesn't matter if there are two or five other people at the table, doesn't matter how much money they've spent on their deck, you don't lose. In fact, the more people the better, as it's easier to ramp into Avenger of Zendikar and Craterhoof. That doesn't end the game, then Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur will. It's a fantastic feeling becoming the raid boss and just winning anyway.

ItchiUchiha117 says... #23
I like all of those as well. I just don't build them because most of the people I play against are incredibly casual players and there's no point to going that hard against them. There is no need for that much power against stuff like Kruphix, God of Horizons artifacts and Progenitus multicolored stuff.
July 14, 2015 10:40 p.m.
Oh, I mean, if my playgroup wasn't serious I wouldn't do that. The deck is quite capable of just like, going bant beat down.
I just think it's the most flexible color combination. Can be just fun stuff, or absolutely ruthless.

I'm the type of guy that wants to win on my terms, I guess. Win, but in a way that makes me happy. Like making infinite mana on turn three to then dump my deck onto the field with Genesis Wave and win with infinite elves.
July 14, 2015 10:44 p.m.
ItchiUchiha117 says... #26
Oh yeah, I know, but if I'm building Bant, I'm building a Phelddagrif deck that wins because everyone scoops when I restart the game a few times with Karn Liberated.

I'm not quite sure where I got it from, except I just kind of started saying it last month at work because I couldn't think of a better adjective to describe what it's like to work at my grocery store to a newbie on his first day. I was going for a sarcastic fantastic, but shit came out instead. It stuck with me, I guess.

I'm doing a community service project where I take old cabinets, paint them, make little roofs for them, and put them on a post. I then put books inside and put a sign saying 'take a book leave a book'. Need to contact my local Rotary to get them to be the sponsoring organization the grant money is sent to. Then, the city council to see if I can place them on city parks. Then, the world.

One of my friends loves to come up with absolutely fantastic insults.
Apparently somebody managed to seriously piss him off and he went off on them so hard, they couldn't say anything because they couldn't understand half of the big words he was using. It was great.

I already have music, which is introduction to rock music. I threw Anthropology 101 into the schedule until Computer 101 decides to open up.
My favorite insult is "cumbucket" or simply "dick."
I'm sure everyone has seen this, but this was my favorite thing back in 7th or 8th grade. This is where I heard "cumbucket" and it stuck ever since.
