I just posted my mono-blue deck, Hold On, I Just Need A Bit More Time. It's meant to shove cards down peoples' throats so they attack other people until you kill everyone else at once.

Sick foil Maniac bruh

July 20, 2015 6:56 p.m.

ItchiUchiha117 says... #4

Yeah, I forget if Maniac was an Intro Pack rare, but I know that one specifically wasn't. It's very nice in foil.

I just finished picking up the last cards for my new Derevi deck at my local LGS. Nothing like writing a check for $600 for only 20 cards.

What crads?

July 20, 2015 8:02 p.m.

Technically it should be 'which cards'

The big things were a new Snapcaster Mage, Sword of Fire and Ice, Force of Will, and foil Stoneforge Mystic. The rest were like 5 dollar rares.

HolyFalcon says... #9

Foil SFM sounds awesome. I would love her and the Sword for my equipment EDH that I own in MagiFantasyLand.

I can't wait to test the deck out in person. I've been testing online for a week and it's been unbelievably powerful.

Got a list you can share?

Do you any of you have a judge's tower built. I'm considering building one but I'm not sure exactly what to put in it.

Also, are there any magic judges that are chatting? I'm working (slowly) towards my L1 and I am an RA.

July 20, 2015 8:38 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #14

What's a Judge's Tower?

July 20, 2015 8:40 p.m.

Kryzis says... #15

Just looked up Judge's Tower here, that looks epic. But brutal.

July 20, 2015 8:41 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #16

Oops.

A judges tower is a 250 card deck that plays by some specific rules and is designed to test your ability to, well, judge.

The rules are:

Each player has infinite life, infinite mana of each color and everyone draws from the communal deck. Everyone plays with their hands revealed.

You lose the game only if you commit a GRV (game rules violation) however there are some special rules:

You must play any card at the earliest time you can. You must use may abilities if possible. You must activate all possible abilities of a card (starting from the bottom of the card) each turn for each legal target.

Basically the game tests how well you know the rules and you ability to keep track of complicated interactions.

July 20, 2015 8:44 p.m.

xzzane says... #17

That sounds extremely brutal. I doubt I would make it two rounds, jeez.

July 20, 2015 8:47 p.m.

Kryzis says... #18

I saw this post on MTGSalvation where the person said they made a rules change: each time you call someone out on a GRV you get a point. Play until someone has X points. That would probably be a good way to get into the format and acclimate yourself before playing the intended way.

July 20, 2015 8:50 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #19

Now, if I was a judge I might play that. But being the nooby noob I am, it would be pure fun and laughs.

July 20, 2015 8:50 p.m.

Kryzis says... #20

Well. Last page before someone starts JC 4.

July 20, 2015 8:51 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #21

Kryzis: YOU STOLE FIRST ON PAGE 200 FROM ME!

On another note, 200 pages of JC3! :D

July 20, 2015 8:52 p.m.

xzzane says... #22

Is there any particular reason besides tradition as to why we keep making new Just Chatting threads?

July 20, 2015 8:58 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #23

After the first one got way way to big and it took f***ing forever to load we got a new one.

This thread has had about 1 comment every 15 minutes for the last 87 days. We're more populous than both of the last two threads. The first one had only about 5 comments per day (from what I remember of my post; I can't find it anymore) and the second thread had about 2 posts per hour.

Congratulations for the last year of so we have collectedly posted about 1344000000 bites of data (very rough estimate) or about 1.3 terrabytes of data. Congratulations :)

July 20, 2015 9:03 p.m.

So, the reason the second was started was because the first had reached 500 pages and was causing some peoples' computers to heavily slow down. With the relatively recent overhaul to the comment system, there are more comments per page, so, while we may be at approximately the same number of comments as JC1 or 2, we are nowhere near the number of pages the original had.

July 20, 2015 9:03 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #25

Are you questioning T/O tradition? Guards! Arrest this man!

July 20, 2015 9:04 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #26

1.3 Terabytes? So if I tried to somehow download JC1-3 I wouldn't have enough space on my laptop? Seems legit.

July 20, 2015 9:05 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #27

There is an absolute glut of conditional white removal in the format and I can't for the life of me figure out which 16 removal spells I want to use in my standard UW control deck.

I also have no idea what I want to use as finishers. It's kind of infuriating how open the format is, really.

July 20, 2015 9:08 p.m.

Uh, I don't think that math is quite right. The first one took about four months to reach 10000 comments, which is more than five a day. The second took less than two months. This one has also clocked in at a bit less than two months.

July 20, 2015 9:10 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #29

I think. There are about 10000 comments per thread and each comment has on average 25 words. Words are on average 6 characters and each ascii character is 1 byte. Then we have to include all of the pictures that people have posted, the user names, the username styling and the code to order the posts. We also have timestamps for each post, card images, links and the styling for TO in general. In just comments we have probably posted about half a terrabyte worth of crap but the other stuff takes up a bunch of space.

July 20, 2015 9:10 p.m.

Don't make another JC, there's no point other than tradition and nobody's been complaining about lag.

July 20, 2015 9:10 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #31

ItchiUchiha117 the first post is from april 24th and today is July 20th. That is almost 3 months. You may want to check your math.

July 20, 2015 9:12 p.m.

I'm with her on this. We do not need another thread yet.

July 20, 2015 9:12 p.m.

Wait, shit, wow, I forgot about June. I'm dumb. Still, that's less comments per day than the second one, which went from the end of February to near the end of April.

July 20, 2015 9:14 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #34

I always complain about lag. If my websites don't load in under .1 seconds while I'm using Tor, a proxy and a VPN then something is wrong.

Is it possible for Wizards to take cards off the Reserved List?

July 20, 2015 9:31 p.m.

No

July 20, 2015 9:33 p.m.

HolyFalcon says... #40

Well, that sucks. They should do another vault release for BFZ like they did for Zendikar. With my luck, I'd have a Lotus and then sell it and buy like 3 cases of BFZ and get a Recall and a Time Walk.

What, too magical christmas landy?

July 20, 2015 9:38 p.m.

lol I was talking to Epoch, sorry.

I mean, they can, but they won't because they don't want to.

July 20, 2015 9:42 p.m.

They technically can in that it's a thing they are at liberty to do, but they never will because it's a terrible business decision and supremely dishonest to their consumers.

Tibs, I accept PayPal. Gimme dat summer job money; you don't need it. You need the best land in the game.

July 20, 2015 9:46 p.m.

I need it to drive a car

I actually just cashed a check for $350, the temptation to buy FOWs without my dad knowing is too damn high

July 20, 2015 9:53 p.m.

The Reserved List didn't matter for the Hidden Treasures thing they did for Zendikar. They just got a bunch of old stuff from people that were willing to give them up (for a price, I'm sure) and randomly inserted them in sealed boosters from the original print run of the set.

July 20, 2015 9:57 p.m.

Tibbles, doooooo iiiiiit. Join us on the dark (impoverished) side.

I'm really glad that my parents never looked into my bank account. Whenever I'd order cards I'd be like "Yeah, I'm ordering like 20 dollars of cards" and my bank account would mysteriously go down by $150

July 20, 2015 10 p.m.

I just tell my family that I trade for all of my cards. Which is true. It's just that most of them I trade money for.

July 20, 2015 10:02 p.m.

my dad watches my bank account like a hawk so yeah not gonna happen

I've got a $100 limit on cards so I have to sneakily get cash and spend it without him noticing
