INN/DKA/AVR is the way to go.

ThisIsBullshit says... #2

So I can have the possibility of Invisible Stalker and Butcher's Cleaver? Nah mate

I think we're going to do RTR next, but get it in like Japanese or something so we can't read the cards xD

January 30, 2016 8:54 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #3

ThisIsBullshit No, so you can get a Delver of Secrets  Flip and Snapcaster Mage AND Snapcaster Mage in the INN pack, then have some good DKA followups!

For real though That block is great to draft

January 30, 2016 8:57 p.m.

ThisIsBullshit says... #4

Lol I suppose INN does have Snappies and Lilianas.....

Now I want to draft triple INN, help me.

I don't even like drafting.

January 30, 2016 8:59 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #5

Can I draft for you if you don't like to draft? I'll play the draft, you can keep the cards. Unless a Lili or foil Snappy/Lili's pulled, I'll sneak that one away

January 30, 2016 9:04 p.m.

ThisIsBullshit says... #6

Lol I'm just so garbage at it and can't take it seriously. Also I know the odds of making my money back in boosters, why is sitting around a table opening boosters with friends supposedly worth more than buying three packs off Amazon or TCG?

January 30, 2016 9:07 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #7

I hate drafting but I want to draft ALL of the Oath packs. How many? All of them.

January 30, 2016 9:07 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #8

It's the experience of cracking packs with friends, in my opinion. Every time I've opened and drafted a box with friends, it made the whole experience a lot better.

January 30, 2016 9:10 p.m.

ThisIsBullshit says... #9

I guess that's true. I'm just way more of a "buy singles and play constructed" kind of person but I don't mind a draft once every six months or so :P

January 30, 2016 9:12 p.m.

Coinman1863 says... #10

ThisIsBullshit, how is them legacy scene near you? I myself am about to buy into D&T, and was wondering how dedicated local metas can be? I mean I have a legacy FNM near me but I have never idea if it is worth my time.

Also drafting with friends is really fun. My friends and I drafted a box of conspiracy over the holidays and had a blast. The parley decks won both times we drafted cause that trample beast with parley is OP.

January 30, 2016 11:04 p.m.

There are several stores within an hour's drive that host weekly Legacy, but I haven't been able to afford the drive, plus my deck isn't finished yet. However, from the FB group I'm in, there are quite a few people that go.

My town LGS doesn't really do constructed tournaments because the owner doesn't actually play Magic.

Protip: if you would like to run a game store with Magic support, please know how to play Magic and how to run Magic tournaments, or hire someone who does

So I've almost finished building a star wars cube, but I forgot that it emulates a set closer than it does a cube (4 copies of commons, 3 copies of uncommons, 2 of rares, 1 mythic), so I'm going to have to get 6 more boxes of dragonshields in order to finish it, which is a bummer. On the bright side it looks like it's going to be a blast to draft.

January 31, 2016 1:16 a.m.

@xzzane I've been drafting that a lot lately over on http://draft.bestiaire.org/ and its worked out really well! All the mechanics work well and great flavour!

still don't quite understand the WHY on the spaceflight thing, but whatever.

January 31, 2016 11:15 a.m.

Didgeridooda says... #14

Spaceflight is just flying but the star wars version of it right?

January 31, 2016 12:03 p.m.

yeah, but it cant be blocked by fliers either.

its flying flying.

January 31, 2016 12:09 p.m.

xzzane says... #16

It's the same exact thing as the shadow ability, but it fits more with the flavor of the set to have it as space flight.

January 31, 2016 12:52 p.m.

Anybody got a good silverblack cube and/or one with cheap rares? I want to make a cube but I'm too poor to actually make a good one

January 31, 2016 2:21 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #18

I pulled one off of cubetutor. Seems fun at least. Pooled together "~65% of it just based on shit my friends and i already owned.

January 31, 2016 2:24 p.m.

kengiczar says... #19

That Bestiaire website is awesome. Now how many drafting simulations until I pull Savra, Queen of the Golgari I wonder?

January 31, 2016 3:18 p.m.

Scorprix says... #20

@ThisIsBullshit

How to Build a Next-Gen Cube for Cheap:
1.) Get a large open space (like a big round table)
2.) Have a way to mark who's cards are who's (maybe sticky note rippings of different colors)
3.) Have everybody take the coolest cards they want to use (mostly bulk rares)
4.) Have 60 Cards of each color, 30 Multicolored/artifacts, and 30 non basic lands. If you don't have this balance (or just something even for all the colors) make cuts (cycles are your best friends here)
5.) Sleeve it up and make sure the colors are balanced

Also have LOTS of basic lands, all pre-sleeved.

January 31, 2016 3:53 p.m.

Fffffffffrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddddoooooooooooooooooooommmm!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAhhhaaaahahahahahahahhahaahahahahhahaha!!!!!!!! Finally free of this wretched place!

@ItchiUchiha117 so, waht'd you do on your last day?

February 1, 2016 12:30 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #25

ThisIsBullshit, I have a cube that could be made for around $400. Well. There is still shipping and handling to be paid for, and that's a pretty big deal when dealing with 450 cards.

Just remove Skittles, Glimpse the Unthinkable and a few other of the high priced cards (you can search by price, makes things easy) and you've got yourself a budget cube.

February 1, 2016 3:12 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #26

ItchiUchiha117, what position are you working at? Since I've been in the industry for about 6 years now I pretty much know the ins-and-outs of working at a restaurant. Let me know your position and I can give you pointers.

February 1, 2016 3:14 a.m.

ThisIsBullshit, thanks!

DERPLINGSUPREME, I didn't do anything, really. I'd like to be able to pick up my last couple paychecks.

Femme_Fatale, I'm a line cook at a higher end burger place. That said, I've worked that position before in culinary school, so I think I'll be fine. Thanks anyways, though!

February 1, 2016 3:40 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #28

School I think is different from real, but I've never been to a Culinary school before. I don't think I've got any advice for you then.

February 1, 2016 4 a.m.

The schools I went to ran restaurants that were open to the public. It was fun.

Thought about making a potty training Mega-thread. Anyone here have experience, and tips on some methods you have used? My most common excuses that I am getting are "I don't can't", and "I am not older". Bribery has run it's course. Poo is the issue*

February 1, 2016 8:44 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #31

I used to work as a cook in a diner, I loved the flexibility of being in the kitchen able to make what I wanted for the one meal on shift thing.

Cheesesteak wraps were the best.

Anyone else have the personal rule that you won't plate anything that you wouldn't eat yourself? (Barring dietary things like not liking onions or whatever.)

February 1, 2016 8:52 a.m.

Didgeridooda says... #32

Itchi, congrats on the new job.

In small time cooking news. Made some sausage rolls, they were good.

February 1, 2016 8:59 a.m.

Femme_Fatale I'm not sure I want one that big, I'm looking more at a 360 card cube. But thank you though!

February 1, 2016 9:56 a.m.

Coinman1863 says... #34

When I cook I mostly do Dutch oven cooking, and damn, you can cook a ton of stuff in an 11in oven. I have spent so much time cooking in one that I know how many charcoal briquettes are needed for each temperature. Makes the cooking go a lot faster when you don't have to reference that kind of stuff.

Didgeridooda how old is said trainee? I have some expiriance but my advice depends on the age.

On a side note, one of my mom's friends used to be able to potty train cats. Now that's impressive.

February 1, 2016 11:05 a.m.

Didgeridooda says... #35

Just 3. took pants away, trying that today. Done it before, but this one is stubborn lol.

Training CATS you say?

You have peaked my intrest...

February 1, 2016 8:38 p.m.

6tennis says... #37

Well, I just realized I'm basically broke. Time to sell my soul and build Goblins for $150-ish. I do work for some neighbors, but they hardly ever need me. I think OGW Goblin Tribal's pretty good, too, and I'm a huge sucker for tribal.

also, gratz Itchi!

February 2, 2016 8:50 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #38

Why not eldrazi tribal?? Lmao

February 2, 2016 9:10 a.m.

6tennis says... #39

Because I like swinging for 20 unblockable damage (Goblin Piledriver + Stoneforge Masterwork + Subterranean Scout). And because Goblins is actually dirt cheap, coming in at $80 iirc.

February 2, 2016 9:13 a.m.

Because right now everybody is doing Eldrazi tribal lol

February 2, 2016 10:52 a.m.

Coinman1863 says... #41

Any of you lot have expiriance with D&T? I want someone to have a look at my list and ask their opinion on it.

February 2, 2016 10:54 a.m.

filledelanuit says... #42

Modern or legacy? I some stuff about the legacy version but nothing about the modern version.

February 2, 2016 11:29 a.m.

Coinman1863 says... #43

Legacy, I'm want to buy in in the next month or so but want to emsure that I have a list I like that also is not bad.

February 2, 2016 12:08 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #44

Sure.

I took a look at your list. The third Karakas may be one too many because there isn't a ton of Sneak and Show or Reanimator. You also don't run Mangara. Three copies of Wingmare is a lot as well. A second Sara Avatar may be nice to fly over top of Shardless.

Your sideboard is fine as well. I would run a second Cataclysm because Miracles is quite popular. You can probably cut the Sunlance as it's the worst card in your sideboard.

February 2, 2016 12:20 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #45

Coinman1863 Never piloted D&T, but i've played against it a bunch. First things first, cut all four Phyrexian Revokers. There are better cards to play in the main board. Stick one or two in the side. You want the fourth Vryn Wingmare, you want 3-4 copies of Serra Avenger, and you might consider Ethersworn Canonist mainboard, as ANT is very popular these days. In fact, switch those to the main, and two revokers to the side.

I think you want to cut down to 1 Karakas, and add 2 more Cavern of Souls. No one is playing Sneak and Show, or Omni-Tell, and no one is playing True-Name Nemesis. And while Elves is one of your worst match ups, Karakas doesn't actually bounce Progenitus. On the flip side, 90% of legacy decks run Brainstorm and thus Force of Will, among other counterspells, so the Cavern should be your best friend next to Aether Vial.

The only thing I don't like in your sideboard is Wilt Leaf Liege. I would add a second Ratchet Bomb to get rid of Lotus Petals, early misplayed LED's, and Chalice of the Voids.

February 2, 2016 1:23 p.m. Edited.

Why would you cut revokers?

Also where are you guys getting the "nobody is playing SnS anymore" from?

February 2, 2016 1:51 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #47

Revokers aren't better than Serra Avengers in the main board. Yes you want to lock someone out, but you also need to close the game before they draw answers to your stuff. That's why I think the fourth Wingmare and the Avenger's are needed, you need the flying power to actually close the game out.

If you try and do the ground game vs. elves, painters servant, shardless bug or any other fair creature decks, it's just gonna be less effective. Plus revokers do what? Cut off Jace or Lili? They just aren't that necessary. Lastly, they just die easier.

February 2, 2016 2:05 p.m.

filledelanuit says... #48

ThisIsBullshit S&S is still played but it's just less common than it used to be.

Revoker is actually insane. It shuts off:

  • Sensei's Divining Top
  • Deathrite Shaman
  • Jace
  • Lily
  • Sneak Attack/GriselBrand
  • Lion's Eye Diamond and Lotus Petal
  • Heritage Druid

I would never suggest going below two copies of revoker. Since Shardless is big you need to be able to shut off Deathrite to gain a mana advantage and Jace/Lily to take control of the game. Against miracles you need to be able to shut off top which makes Terminus a lot worse.

I actually like running four but three is fine as well.

February 2, 2016 4:11 p.m.

6tennis says... #49

  1. Put down your Revokers.
  2. Put down your entire deck.
  3. Build OGW Goblins.
  4. ???
  5. Profit.
  6. Win FNM.
  7. I fucking love Tribal decks.
