I just had a Puca binge. Just confirmed to send like, a dozen cards to a dozen different people, so now i've got sixteen envelopes waiting to go to the post office tomorrow cuz i've gotta get out like 3 tappedout trades as well.
And I don't even know what I want from Puca.

You can't chose the people all around you, but you can chose your friends. I dislike a lot of people and I'm fairly introverted. I have a handful of friends I really care about and that's all that matters to me.

I myself go to another high school, I'm a Junior, because my old school (and students for that matter) didn't really care about how we were treated (except for a select few teachers) or engineering at all...

ThisIsBullshit You know I was worried about that too at fist, but i've gotten some interesting stuff over the short time i've been using it. And one of my friends at my LGS who's REALLY into Puca's been getting stuff like Rishadan Port
s and revised duals and stuff.
While there are a lot of people who've got a lot of points, and it's definitely random if you receive stuff, you can increase your chances by placing bounties.
Like change your user name to "10% Bonus Points Please Read!" and on your profile put down "Will send 10% bonus points for cards X, Y, Z", and if it's stuff like Sneak Attack and Show and Tell, that's probably what, 600 points/6 dollars? Sure, you're paying a little more, but it's worth it if you manage to get the cards, especially if you've sent junk like Blinkmoth Nexus and Eldrazi Temple to get the stuff.
My goal is to get rid of all the modern/legacy/edh stuff i'm not using over the next two-three months to get a Time Walk. Want to see if it can be done. If not, i'll just turn the points into Volcanic Islands or something.

@DERPLINGSUPREME - Ah. No. English isn't my native language. Still, making the occasional mistake has more to do with my work as a freelance writer than anything else. I essentially write from 9am to 7pm each day with minor breaks here and there (mostly dicking around on TO). My brain gets pretty tired...

Tibs, just like, make sure you don't fall into "the trap". Don't cash in a bunch of cards, rack up a bunch of points, and then think to yourself... "hmm, you know, I think i'd really like a [blank]". Because before you know it, you've turned Fulminator Mages and Goblin Guides into like, random EDH shit that was actually trading your stuff down. I sent a FTV JTMS to someone (and granted, I really dislike FTV JTMS so it wasn't too bad), and turned it into a bunch of stuff for Amulet Bloom like eight months ago. Not the best investment, regardless of the fact it got banned.
Just continue to ship your cards, put the most expensive stuff you want for what you're building onto your want list, and ignore the site.

Puca has been great for me, but I only really wanted mid range EDH staples. Consecrated Sphinx. Palinchron, Staff of Domination, Gilded Drake, Yawgmoth's Will, Goblin Wizard, and a Remand for modern.
Tricks that worked for me were stuff like changing my name to the card I wanted at the time, but I don't think that will work for legacy staples. Everyone is trying to get those type of cards, and bounties of 10-20% are common. I think the site might be running towards the end. Too many points floating around, too many people trying to trade up, and not enough people new to the site to keep things afloat.
Tips, don't say M/NM only in your profile. It is the rules of the site to send only NM, so put something like "If SP/MP message me, and we can work something out". Don't go all in. Pace yourself, and work one piece at a time.

Yeah omg I hate the people that are like "M/NM only if it's not NM I'll send it back at your expense". It turns me off, I don't want to send what I think is a NM card and have them be like "oh that's not NM" and either have them send it back on my dime or have to involve the admins and fight over whether its NM or not.

That's why I just trade in person, here, or occasionally MTGS due to the huge variety of cards and trades available.
Or just buy the lot from TCGplayer, unless there are better online retailers than that.

TheDevicer, I'm getting ~$10k (maybe more) in injury claims from the car accident I was in mid-January and was concussed in. So money won't be an issue :P.

@ Coinman1863 - I would get whichever one is in better condition. The exception to this is if one is printed on sturdier card stock and will hold up better. If that's not the case though get the one in better condition.

I am not a foil guy. I prefer original printings. Tcg is saying that there is a huge price difference. That would push me towards the foil. 225 to 354 is a big difference.

Get the non foil. Foils that aren't double sided warp. Doesn't matter how you try and preserve em, it's just in the way they're printed. They warp.
If you order a light play foil, it's going to be bent. If you order a new mint foil of these, you're paying more for a lie, as it will arrive bent. If you win the lottery and it isn't bent, it will be bent after 5-6 games.
My rule of thumb is this: I don't buy foils i'm not ok losing full value on. For me, that's any foil over like $40 dollars. Mod played cards sell easier than expensive near mint/light play foils.
In short, get the originals, even if they're mod played. They'll treat you better in the long run.
And lastly, if it's about pimping out your deck, this isn't modern. You don't settle for foils. Full commitment here; you gotta own the deck. Card alters or bust.

People don't like change. Especially modern players. They play modern to avoid change.
Change is good for WotC, and it is going to be a give and take between players, and company.
Edit - Side note. I love that eldrazi is taking over. The lore has seeped into the gameplay.

trollslayer - Modern became a "turn creatures sideways" format and I'm just not interested in it anymore.
LSV seems to think colourless eldrazi is the most broken deck since caw-blade in standard. I've played against it a lot and it certainly seems to have favourable matchups against a lot of different things, which is unfortunate. Because the last few days have descended into play eldrazi or beat eldrazi which is for obvious reasons not great. And whatever you think about that is irrelevant because I'm not here to debate the ins and outs of the meta. What I'm saying is, for me personally, it's boring and not why I started playing modern, I'm just not interested anymore and so I quit.

Tiny Leaders is dead because it has such a narrow line of viable deck at the top end and has no support of any kind. It's essentially "Delver + Good Stuff - the Format".
