In a more casual setup Tiny leaders is great. Once you get down to hardcore top tier competition, there seems to be few choices in TL.
I built 5 TL decks out of stuff I had just laying around. Seems like it would be fun, but they are just filthy casual decks.
February 11, 2016 4:08 p.m.
TL is just Geist, Marath, Shu Yun, Anafenza, Ezuri and some other generals. Boring af. This is coming from someone who sunk wahahayyyyy too much into TL. My old Shu list is still public on my profile. It's a bit outdated by now, but is a pretty good representation of high-level decks in the format.

IDK, I enjoy my Doran one. It's a bit on the more casual side I guess but playing Disowned Ancestor and following it with Doran just feels hilarious.
Also, Skinshifter.

So guys, in light of the new mechanic in SoI what do you think about this:
Obviously at rare or mythic but it's strictly worse than goyf but still gives a budget alternative to people who can't afford them.
February 11, 2016 7:06 p.m.
FAMOUSWATERMELON says... #7
Huh, maybe. Making a fair goyf is simple though, just make it a 0/0 to start instead of a 0/1. It would solve so many problems it's crazy.
Also, would anyone here be interested in a short What's the Play article series? Info here.
February 11, 2016 7:56 p.m. Edited.
The only thing I'd change about Goyf is its cost. all the way. That would make it stop being the best creature in blue.
February 11, 2016 7:58 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #9
I mean, I feel like the fact that it's not ALL gys that it makes it more fair, you can't easily T2 bolt-proof it by fetch + sorcery. Goyf would still be strictly better but this could be an option for those who need the goyf slots.
February 11, 2016 8:14 p.m.
Huh, I like it. Seems noice.
I want to see a Lavamancer for that's a 2/1 with Double-Strike and haste.
Always have, always will.

While getting dinner this evening, I remembered that I used a vacuum cleaner to soak up water just to see if it could work. A few days later, my dad bought a new vacuum cleaner. Beginning to wonder if the events are related.

1.5 oz (or so, didn't really measure this one) peanut butter, creamy

5 rings of red onion

Bottom bun, same as the top

Unless a vacuum is a wet/dry vac (it'll say on the vacuum) if you use it for water you'll ruin it.

I binge watched Tokyo Zombie these last 2 days between work and i have to say. It's certainly made my top ten flavoite anime list. The visceral violence, deep character plot, the emotional ride. Damn man and jesus the Gore. Mmmm
February 13, 2016 8:42 p.m.
Do you mean Tokyo Ghoul? Never hear of Zombie. I've got that sitting in my hard drive. It holds 4TB but I'm constantly having to remove shit from it. I torrent wayhahayyy too much of it. Haven't gotten around to ghoul because it's not my genre of choice and I heard some complaints from a friend, but I'll eventually get to it.
The last anime that I've seen that I consider to be outstanding is Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, or Your Lie in April. It's about a young pianist who was driven to play for competitions for his sickly mother his entire childhood. Forced to practice until he attains perfection, he's often referred to as the Human Metronome. This all changes when the main character's mother dies, causing him to suffer a nervous breakdown mid-performance at a competition. He can no longer hear the sounds of the piano.
Two years later, we find the boy still clutching to music but having entirely abandoned the piano. It takes a chance encounter with a brazen, spirited, and fearless violinist to coax the main character out of his shell and back to the piano.
Some minor gripes with the show include a slow pacing at times and engaging in somewhat excessive melodrama. Other than that, Your Lie in April is fantastically animated given its budget and stands as one of he better romantic comedy slices in the past few years. I give it an 8.5/10.

It's ghoul. I just like to say zombie. Subtle knod to "is this a zombie?" which is pretty much in my top 3.

I should warn you though. Do not watch it if you have a weak stomach or have issues with extremely violent situations.
February 13, 2016 9:26 p.m.
I need to find more anime like Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. The entire show is supposed to be a realistic representation of what would happen if a magnitude 8 quake hit Tokyo.
Because of that, it's literally the only anime i've seen that isn't plagued by over-dramatization. Can't tell you how much I hate it when these shows find a "concept" , try to philosophize it, and fuck it up completely. Absolutely none of that garbage happening here, was very refreshing.

Your Lie in April is on my watch list. Heard great things about it, so I just have to decide if I want to watch it, Spice and Wolf II, or Sound!Euphonium first. If I ever get around to watching stuff again...

@kyuuri117
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was sooo good. I give it a rare 9/10. If you liked it, you may find Seirei no Moribito up your alley. Both anime feature protective mother figures, impressive visuals, and don't fall pray to self-indulgent philosophizing.
@GoldGhost012
Your lie in April leave you with some feels, Spice and Wolf II will deliver more of the same as the first season, and I haven't seen Sound! Euphonium. Still, it's a show by KyoAni, so I'm betting it's going to be filled with moe fluff, gorgeous visuals, and lots of giggling high-school girls.
February 13, 2016 11:19 p.m.
Oh anime. I haven't been watching as much as I would like. My number one favorite is still Code Geass, but I love Is This a Zombie?, Ergo Proxy, and Darker Than Black. I've seen bits and pieces of Your Lie in April and it is fantastic. Tokyo Ghoul is on my watch list, as well as Beautiful Bones and season two of Noragami. I also just recently began Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and it is weird.
February 13, 2016 11:30 p.m.
TheDevicer Thanks, i'll add it to the list. Currently about to start Anohana, as i've heard it's pretty good, if depressing.
If you haven't seen it, check out Shin Sekai yori / From the new world. One of my favorites.
vault Watch jojo's 1 and 2, they're entertaining. Don't watch the third one. Instead of the characters themselves being badass, they've got pokemon ghost things following them giving them power ups. Watched two episodes and found it so stupid I couldn't continue.
February 13, 2016 11:33 p.m. Edited.
Thanks for the heads up. I finished Jojo 1 and that was what weirded me out. I was like, what is this, Game of Thrones? Anohana is great. Super, super good. And just as sad, if not more so. If you haven't seen it, watch The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. One of my favorite fluff animes.
February 13, 2016 11:37 p.m.
Geass actually got me into anime. Jojo's is also great. I get that once people start having Stands, it can be a bit off-putting, but the show still keeps to its spirit well and delivers more of the same as before. I've also got Shin Sekai yori in my to watch list. That folder is something like 600GB and 1TB at the start of December. I'm a huge fan of Anohana and The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.
I watch a lot of moe anime, but I'm up for pretty much any genre.

vault, will you be my best friend?
Anyway, I watched the movie version of JoJo 1, and I though it was super dry. The final 4ish episodes of JoJo 3 are pretty entertaining though.

GoldGhost012, Sure, we can be best friends . . . if we can agree on the ending of Code Geass.
February 14, 2016 1:04 a.m.
I remember back during the summer of 09 when I was really into fiction and creative writing and my friend invited me to his place to swap fantasy books and do some writing. I was a high school sophomore at the time. Some thirty minutes after I get to his place, he gets a text and asks if I want to go to the movies instead.
I was so disappointed by this as this guy was pretty much the only one I knew who enjoyed fiction. Even so, I agreed to go with him anyway.
About five minutes before we get to the mall, my friend tells me he was more or less sneakily asked out by this girl he knows. He's pretty sure that she's into him and he brought me along to try to break it to her gently that he isn't interested.
Great, I'm the third wheel. Even worse, he's actually trying to set me up with her. At this point, I'm like:
Mind you, I'm a pretty big introvert and avoid unnecessary social engagements whenever possible. As expected, the plan goes horribly wrong. She spend the following six hours trying to flirt with my friend while I act as the God damn Demilitarized Zone. I was even made to sit between these two people during the movie.
The entire afternoon and evening are as awkward as you're imagining them to be. At this point, I'm itching to nope the fuck out of there.
Finally, after hours of loitering at the mall, the girl says she's getting picked up because of her curfew. First time I've ever felt grateful about a curfew in my life!
When all that shit's finally over, we head back to my friend's place. I'm furious but he agreed to pay for pizza as an apology and I'm poor and hungry af.
He pops on the TV and flips to Adult Swim. I knew he was into anime and I didn't really feel like watching anything stupid at sometime around midnight but I keep my mouth shut. Free food is free food.
Mind you, I have all kinds of preconceived notions about anime at this point. The show Adult Swim was airing at the time was Bleach. In particular, it was the episode Renji Abarai is practicing his bankai. So yeah... This is something like 60 episodes into the show. And there he is, some weird dude with fucked up eye brows toting some skeleton snake sword and whining about everything. Fuck.
At this point, the food's arrived and I'm feeling relatively content with myself despite of the fucked up day I had just gone through.
Bleach ends and Episode 2 of Code Geass gets put on.
Yeah, that episode! I'm loving that shit. I have no idea what's going on, but it's fucking great! I finish the episode, drive my ass back home, and go online. I netflix the shit out of the show immediately. Yeah, deliver those DVDs to my house! Give me more of that spunky redhead and those robots please! Oh God Kallen.
And there you have it, folks. Geass remains my 3rd favorite anime to date despite its many shortcomings and the fact that it has aged as gracefully as Obama in office.
February 14, 2016 1:37 a.m.
How can you possibly keep track of all these gifs?
February 14, 2016 1:46 a.m.
TheDevicer, You managed to get the DVDs? I'm so jealous, I didn't get into it until my junior year of high school, about five years ago and by the time I even thought of actually buying it, the DVDs were way too expensive. Also, I only watch subs (I'm not anti-dub, I just think the Japanese voices sound more authentic in Japanese anime (for the record, I think animation originally made in English sounds better in English, RWBY and Avatar: the Last Airbender being great examples (and yes, I'm doing parentheses within parentheses (parentheception)))).
February 14, 2016 1:58 a.m. Edited.
I spend lots and lots of time on the internet. I have an imgur account where I store my favorites. I also know lots of appropriate .gifs by relation. Take the .gif of Emma. It's not in my favorites, but I recalled it because I was thinking of pics related to great food.
Oh and I got the DVDs through Netflix. This was back when they'd send you DVDs by mail. Almost immediately after I finished Geass, I felt like owning the series, so I hopped online and check out the prices. Yeeeaaaa... No thanks. I remember the two seasons costing something like $200-$300. Then I checked the prices on some official merchandise. They were selling $30 tees at the time. Feck that.
And yeah, I watch stuff dubbed pretty much exclusively these days. Just a preference, really.
February 14, 2016 2:07 a.m.
GoldGhost012 says... #49
For Code Geass, I prefer the dub for one reason: the "Obey Me World!" speech. Johnny Yong Bosch just does such an amazing job there.
My ultimate CG dream? Kallen piloting a red Lancelot Albion. Fuck. Yes.
February 14, 2016 2:10 a.m.
Yup. That's pretty hype. I remember getting into League of Legends shortly after watching Geass and I felt like I was completely nuts when I kept thinking I could hear Kallen's voice everywhere. Turns out Karen Strassman did a lot of voice work for LoL but the filters they use on occasion kept fucking with me.
