People keep talking about a "puzzle" on twitter/facebook about the stitcher's lab. What are they talking about? I see no puzzle.

There's a social puzzle at each of the GPs this weekend. Something like explore the lab/room, go on a scavenger hunt, discover spoilers or something.

There are also fancy puzzle puzzle rooms at the GP as well, which when you solve them give cards like:
3u
3/2 flyer
At the beginning of your upkeep, put the top card of your library into your graveyard, if it is an instant or sorcery, flip this card.
5/4 flyer on the other side.
He couldn't take pictures cause confidential stuff.

Just finished Kids on the Slope. It's a story about a bunch of high school kids playing Jazz together and falling in and out of love in the late 1960s. Hmmm... I kinda wish the romance had taken a step back and let the music shine a bit more. Still, I'll give this thing 8/10. It's always cool to see slices take on different periods of time or cool motifs.
I really have no idea what I was getting into since both studios involved haven't been all that prolific. I've only seen Terror in Resonance from MAPPA.

The levels suck :( except the guy who recreated silent hill PT. Clever fucker.
As for today, i was literally shoved by a guy who i wouldn't let in through the entrance used to push the shopping carts in. The reason we don't let people through there is that carts are like a train. You can't stop it abruptly. If you step in front of me, you're getting hit and probably seriously injured which means you'll probably sue the store and I'll lose my job.
Fuck humanity.

VampireArmy Won't spoil anything, but the expansion was amazing. However, some of the quests do really require two people so I'd recommend playing with a friend. Frankly, it's the best $20 expansion I've played for any game, at least that I can remember. They really did it justice.

I just had one of the worst commander sessions I've had in the past year. My core group typically consist of three people (myself included). Other people show up now and then. We usually end up playing with 4 people. This weekend, we had 6 people.
Game one, a Narset deck went off faster than anticipated and no one could react to it. The following extra turns were insane and the Narset deck actually ended up almost decking itself through attack triggers. We had a string of extra turns that lasted maybe half an hour or more.
Next game, a newcomer plays a janky Mimeoplasm ramp deck and casts Villainous Wealth on an Animar deck for X=31. Resolving the mess that followed was beyond insane. This guy knows what he's doing when it comes to limited and standard, so we all assumed he was going to be fine without supervision. Turns out he messed up something like 4 times during that turn. It ended up being another 40 minute turn.
I literally had three players at the table start an impromptu Oblivion-themed D&D campaign on the spot because of how horrendously bad these turns were. I don't even play D&D and that turned out to be the highlight of the session.
We began playing at 11 am or so. At 6pm, we stopped to play some cube instead. During those 7 hours, we got in 3 games. 3!
I really don't mind large games. It's just that this time, the complex nature of Narset attack triggers and some relative newbies made the whole ordeal much worse than it needed to be.
I developed a migraine headache somewhere around 3pm too... At least I drafted the cube like a boss. Grixis control went on to 3-0 until we stopped playing.
Mah brain is mush...

If it makes you feel better I had a T5-6 table kill with my new sidisi deck through removal. Good ol' Survival of the Fittest and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord.
(Commander of course)

I once got a turn 3 kill with my Rhys the Redeemed deck.
T1: Forest, Joraga Treespeaker
T2: Forest, Level Up, Seeker of Skybreak
T3: Forest, Illusionist's Bracers, equip to Seeker of Skybreak, make infinite mana, Genesis Wave for my entire deck, including Concordant Crossroads and Craterhoof Behemoth
It was good.

I used to do that all the time with my Primal Surge deck.
It started out with omnath but later evolved into Kruphix elfball.
Playgroup hated me, good times.

So in light of all these new eldrazi cards (specifically cards like Worldbreaker) What do people think about Kruphix, God of Horizons Eldrazi commander?
March 8, 2016 8:15 p.m.
I think Kruphix eldrazi edh is better than any colorless general. You get fantastic ramp, fantastic support spells (UB is the best color combo in EDH after all), and your general pays for your creatures letting you leave up real mana for your creatures. Sounds great.
Is anyone playing The Division on ps4? The game is much better than I expected it would be.
March 9, 2016 3:04 a.m.
Ohthenoises says... #26
Derp, World Breaker.
Yeah I figured it would be pretty good. Wondering if I should go the Cultivate route or the Llanowar Elves route.
Llanowar can lead to a Primal Surge deck whereas Cultivate can be very different.
Either way, Omniscience into eldrazi seems fun. (Or scions/spawns into Omniscience lol)
March 9, 2016 10:45 a.m.
@Ohthenoises - It's okay. It really depends on how competitive your meta is. It's hard to remain relevant if your're actively trying to push 10+ mana in higher levels of play. The overall value and reactivity of your deck goes down as you jam Doubling Cubes in it.
Going the surge route basically necessitates forgoing many reactive cards. If your fine with that, you'll probably end up with a more explosive and centered deck. Still, you'll be vulnerable to people comboing out or establishing winning positions. I believe that diversifying your sources of acceleration leads to greater resiliency.
Overall, I think the deck's going to start to struggle once you reach something like 7 on a competitive scale from 1-10.
March 9, 2016 10:59 a.m.
Something like Birds of Paradise, Arbor Elf, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Oracle of Mul Daya. From there, you can get land seek, doublers, and misc. stuff like Exploration, Burgeoning, Carpet of Flowers, etc.

My meta is what I like to call competicasual.
We try to stick to themes and sub themes but at the same time we aren't going to not put Cryptic Command in a blue deck because it doesn't fit a theme.
We make the best card choices possible within the scope of the loose idea of the deck.
I had a Surge deck as kruphix before I tore it apart and it won a little too much because it was literally surge and Enter the Infinite with eldrazi Titans and Akroma's Memorial/Concordant Crossroads for the win.

Is planar portal that good in commander? I don't play it(kinda want to get into it though) but it doesn't seem like you would need to tutor that much.
March 9, 2016 1:37 p.m.
Ohthenoises says... #34
It's a tutor that you can use in a Primal Surge deck so you don't stall out.
March 9, 2016 1:50 p.m.

I used it in that specific deck but most players don't use things like that.
The only reason I did was I was only running 2 instants/sorceries in the deck and I needed to get them asap. Those two are the only two that can find instants/sorceries that are also permanents in U/G.

It's been cool seeing a bunch of new content on the front page ever since some people talked about TO lacking content. I might do another piece in the future myself. I dunno yet. It was fun mucking around with the article I did. Hmmm... You guys thinking of picking up something to write as well?
I'm currently re-watching the second season of the monogatari series. It's stupid how much I like this show. Anyone else a fan?

I just realized something: Delirium in SOI is going to be very hard to activate in Limited. Limited is primarily creatures, very rarely will you guarantee yourself artifacts, enchantments or lands that can enter your grave. Sure you can get creatures, instants and sorceries, but beyond that, you are stuck on 3 and will have severe difficulties getting the 4th one down.

Did you all like it?

Nope. Any good? I heard it was worth watching. The last movie I thoroughly enjoyed was Whiplash. That movie was shot astonishingly well. Gene Simmons fucking kills it again.

Hey, has anyone here tried Brawlhalla? It's a free game on steam that's kind of smash-bros esque, but with good online gameplay. It's not Pay To Win, either! Steam is in bio if you want to play

Eh. Lost interest in fighters. Too much investment required for not very much return.
March 15, 2016 12:59 a.m.
I disagree. Fighters, much like MOBAs, really aren't worth playing until you've mastered all of the core mechanics and acquired meta-knowledge. Once you reach that point, those games cease being about button mashing and become something akin to speed chess.

You don't understand. The vanilla zombies kick your ass if there's like more than 3-4. Your good 700-800 damage weps? They aren't good anymore.
The hulk zombies that throw rocks? They are all bosses now. They've got armor which you need to break and it's almost legit impossible by yourself. And this is all on normal.
Don't get me started on the upgraded night time zombies. 20 damage a hit when they spit at you? Nah. Try 50.
Oh, and all the humans have automatic rifles which rip you dead in 2 seconds.
