whats so cool about karakas that makes it cost so much?
I mean, I understand that in most situations it is better than a plains by quite a bit, and it bounces legendaries, but out of edh whats the point? I see it in legacy, and don't really get it. It bounces Emrakul I guess but why?

Emrakul, Griselbrand, Iona, Thalia, Gaddock Teeg, etc. It's also a fairly old card which makes it worth more. If Karakas wasn't a thing, OmniTell, Reaminator, and Sneak and Show would be much more powerful.
edit: why would you say "but why" to bouncing Emrakul? Emrakul is a scary motherfucker.

that might have been confusing.
when I said "It bounces Emrakul I guess but why?" the "but why?" was more like an "aside from that" statement.
And I guess I forgot about how many legendaries there are in legacy.

Mother of god, that's a lot of SOI cards that were spoiled this week. (for reference: http://mythicspoiler.com/) I can already hear my wallet crying...
Also Karakas is basically a card saying "You will not lose to jank legends", effectively killing much of their viability in Legacy. If you didn't bring this card, and you're staring an Emrakul in the face, well...gg.

Karakas beats Sneak and Show by itself, and you can also use it with your own creatures to save them from removal or do other cool things. There's even a whole variant of Miracles built around Karakas and Venser, Shaper Savant and Vendilion Clique.

Yep I thought my Zedruu deck was done and then I actually read Karakas, something I've never bothered to do until just now.

Anyone good at Standard sideboards? I'm trash at it. I don't need a perfect one considering the meta is unknown but something to start me off would be good.

Well I think the strategy is put a ton of eldrazi in the mainboard and put a ton of other eldrazi in the sideboard. Boom. Done. Don't even need lands.

Meddling Mage. Kinda obvious. Rest in Peace for varolz infect. The enchantment that doesn't let you cast more than one spell a turn for storm and doomsday.(I don't remember what it is called)
As for standard, sorry. No clue. Haven't played it since og innistrad left.

VampireArmy Depends on your deck. You can't just take a blue-red deck and throw in Rhinos. Well, actually, you probably already have them in the mainboard.
I'm so ready for Rhinos to die. Seriously, fuck Rhinos.
Also, speaking of Standard, I have an Atarka Red that's about to be retired because of dumb rotations. What should I do? I might turn it into a Modern deck, but then I have to a. procure enough money to get good lands and b. figure out how Burn is going to beat Eldrazi

It's a madness midrange vampire deck. I hypothesize that the worst matchup will be bant coco. The best matchup will likely be the grixis mirror.

ThisIsBullshit: The Calc AP exam is fun and fairly straightforward. The concepts are easily applied and are all linked together nicely.
Physics however ... unless your class is organized and was able to cover all of the material properly (from what I've gathered, most don't), you are going to get your ass whipped viciously girl.

I mean, it's a creature that can get you card and board advantage with an artifact that gets you card advantage. I'm mostly aiming for casual games with friends (EDH or otherwise) for this.
