I loved math up until calc 3. That class is brutal. Also, dont worry about it amazingdan, its fine. Also, idk if its just my school, but everyone hates proofs. You have to remember the names of every rule and put them all in the right order. Its not even like its doing math. Dont worry tho, I haven't seen proofs since geometry

I've also decided that I'm going to be more active over summer. Now I just need to find the $5 to upgrade.

Calc 3 was hard, but my professor was good. He had a goldfish that he'd bring to class every day. Its name was Sfin. Odd sight seeing him walk across the quad with a fishbowl.
LinAlg was the worst math class for me so far. All of that n'th dimension crap made my head hurt. Taking Analysis I next semester, whatever that is.
Decide on some username colors, Pro_Noob?

I was in AP Calculus my senior year. I also moved to a different state the beginning of my senior year. I had gone from a math system where I was taught by all very like minded and straight forward men to something completely different.
The new school had AP Calc AB and AP Calc BC. I took the AB class.
My teacher... now she was a great teacher and all the kids loved her... but she was one of those teachers who was married to math and always got super excited (like legitimately excited) on PI day. I had nothing against her, but her difference in teaching style was completely lost to me, even though we were close to where I was in curriculum at my old school.
I tried, but I just couldn't follow and stopped caring. I had four other AP classes to worry about and after talking with my counselor I realized I had an extra credit by the end of the year, so I dropped out of my math class at the end of the semester with an F. I literally would just write my name on the tests she handed out and hand them back to her. I'd occasionally attempt a few questions but I usually didn't bother.
Stopped caring.
Three years later and you know what relevance Calc has had on my life?
Absolutely none.

Taking Calc next year... Fun, right? At my school some of the sciences are just brutal. I have to take them to graduate because credit stuff, and get home at 3:30. Stay up until 9:30 just doing homework for one science class. But meh, if I do well, I might get a scholarship so that I can use money that I would have spent on college on some of the more finer necessities in life... like a playset of fetches.

So I just spent the last three days stressing about what days my classes started on. I've been awake for about 30 hours now and finally I decided to end the stress. I was afraid I had classes today even though I "thought" they were friday/saturday this term. Turns out I was worrying for nothing and instead of just calling the school or reading my e-mails again I put myself through that stress for nothing.
Oh well at least I learned that my Shock Top is still good. Mmm it's as delicious as the screen is spinny. :)
June 7, 2016 2:09 p.m.
I took the class because physics degrees require it. Its just calc 3 that made my head spin so I probably just need practice but it was more that the difficulty curve was more of a difficulty wall. Went from some fairly understandable subjects to crazy difficult stuff.
June 7, 2016 2:13 p.m.
Physics and Statistics are the only places where I can see Calc having any kind of immediate relevance.
Seeking a future in computers myself, hearing "oh math classes are really important if you're going to be working with computers" throughout high school.
What a load of shit. lol Computers math for you. Programming isn't intensive on any kind of self-driven calculations. You just have to know the language.
I'm sorry Calc is something you have to go through. Such an awful class.
June 7, 2016 3:43 p.m.
idk. I thought calc 1 and 2 were actually pretty fun, calc 3 is just... bad. I can see how you would use 1 and 2, but calc 3 doesnt seem to have a use in anything much. maybe the vector parts, but not anything else.

While some classes are unrelated to your future and the material is irrelevant, you're still learning how to think - how to approach a problem, address a setback, etc. At least that's how I've felt with some classes.

I've used a lot more Calc 3 than I would like. Well, I guess this depends on what you consider Calc 3.
June 7, 2016 4:03 p.m.
yeah I see that. calc has gone a lot more towards "how do you correctly think about the problem?" rather than "what is the right answer?" so I guess the ability to reason out new ways of thinking about things is nice
June 7, 2016 4:09 p.m.
also I decided that I am going to make my username a very slightly darker shade of blue than the original so that next to other peoples usernames they will just think there's something weird going on with my name.
June 7, 2016 4:11 p.m.
and then I will change it when I actually get some inspiration

I'm very upset at fallout 4 currently. There's a game halting bug during a crucial mission during the far harbor campaign and the only advice available seems to be lol turn it off and back on again so basically I'm stuck not able to play unless they patch it or I get Uber lucky
June 7, 2016 11:48 p.m.
I'm playing through Dragon Age: Inquisition right now. The game is unprecedentedly large. You can explore Skyrim faster...
I'm 16 hours into my game and have only gone through The Hinterlands and as far as I could in the Forbidden Oasis. Just landed in the Storm Coast. Still haven't gone to see the Chantry to convince them I'm not a crazy demon.
The game is amazing.
Having to map all of the areas yourself is pretty brutal.

Contemplated porting my deck onto MTGO until I discovered it would cost 400 bucks. I'll stick to my paper copies, thanks.

Replace the remains of the car / coffee with piles of work you don't want to do, and yup. That's college.
Also, I think I've watched different versions of this video for at least the past 45 minutes. Such a good song and tribute. Wouldn't have thought that anyone other than Robert Plant could sing this.

How has trading been on here? My friend knew that I love allies, and gave me the Legendary one. Now I need to make a 5 color EDH deck, and have no lands. All those new untap multi lands like prairie stream, are they being traded alot? Prob not going to go into fetches, and shocks for it though, don't have too many cards left.

ducttapedeckbox says... #39
Trading has been pretty consistent. Feels a little bit slower than usual (less threads, etc.) although it seems to peak around a set release. I imagine it kicking back up with EMA, regardless of whether EMA is what's being traded.
As a side note, I have Prairie Stream, Canopy Vista, and Cinder Glade for trade... :D

I'm probably overstepping my bounds as a user, but I'd just like to remind everybody that this thread is for non-MTG stuff. There are semi-active threads on this site for just about every aspect of MTG, so you could dig around for a few minutes and find the appropriate thread instead of posting here. Sorry to be a drag, nobody has to listen, but I feel like it had to be said.

Well, I figure that I might as well throw this on the dog pile of stuff people acquired recently.
I happened to have enough store credit to get it for around $20, and it felt amazing. LP and English P3K? God, it's my inner EDH player's wet dream.

I have not played or opened my boxes up in forever. I need to figure out what I have for trade now. Pretty low on extra cards in general. I think I make too many EDH decks. I have one card I really like, like my Su-Chi and have to build a deck around it. Might be why I have like 14 maybe 15 EDH decks now. Is that too many? How many do y'all have?

So me being the smart cookie that I am, I forgot to be careful while cutting jalapenos earlier. Shortly after making chili with some friends, one side of my nose started to burn. I must have touched my nose? That has since subsided, but now the tips of my fingers on my left hand feel like they're on fire. Odd because this was hours ago, but I can't think of another explanation...
Currently have my hand in bowl of baking powder + water puddy. Good times.

If anyone's curious, that didn't work. Neither did ice water, sugar water, lemon juice, lime juice, or milk.
I kept seeing "my grandmother said mustard" in Google searches and I was like hell no but I gave in and it's actually working a little.
Lesson learned: Joe cuts the jalapeos next time
