ChiefBell that's too bad. I've never played any tabletop RPG, but from the way the groups at my LGS are always acting when I'm there playing mtg, they seem like a lot of fun. Though I think they're all ok DnD.
ABadMagicPlayer100 what is Limbo and Inside?
Ohthenoises if you're looks my for someone to play with, feel free to drop your blizz ID on my wall. I'm only level 40, but I'm not terrible.

I almost gave you my blizz ID, then I remembered that I can't play with you guys, since I play on the European server... I faced the same problem when I tried to had good old Derp. :(

d&d is my favourite rpg but I play it online on roll20 instead of on a tabletop.
my favourite tabletop wargame is infinity which is a small squad combat game that's super easy to pick up and relatively cheap.

kyuuri117 They're puzzle platformer/adventure games with a horror element... I wouldn't necessarily call them horror games, but the environment is crafted in such a way that it makes you feel a little uneasy. Both are great games.

Chief you should like, organize a "learn how to play dungeons and dragons" thing for one of these weekends.

Can i get some help with this deck please R/G Tron #dabcity

@memefish - There are ways to promote your deck on TO that are more appropriate than posting here. Read this. The Modern Deck Help forum is also great.

Have any of you guys seen this new show "Stranger Things" on Netflix? I had heard fantastic things about it, so I started it tonight.
Pilot episode was freakin awesome. Looking forward to this.

God, Nitchijou is a treasure. What are you doing, KyoAni? Where's season 2? And for that matter, how about that Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? The movie left off the series in such a fucking phenomenal point, I've been itching for more for far too long.
Or how about just a continuation of Hyouka?
I mean, talk about a lackluster ending. They were totally going for that 'If this picks up, we're doing S2" type of thing.

arrgh. i am super annoyed right now. my laptop is like my child. I bought it for myself last Christmas, and I have taken pretty good care of it since then. It isn't a cheap laptop either, its a dell i7559, so I payed like a solid $800 for it, but I just recently noticed a BUNCH of scratches in the soft touch plastic on the cover. they aren't that deep, they are just SUPER upsetting. I was trying to figure out why, and I realized that I really only have 2 places in my house where I can use a full computer setup with a mouse, that being my kitchen table and my computer desk where my family desktop is at. Recently I have mainly used the computer desk, and every morning my dad comes in to check his facebook or some stupid thing like that. normally I would be fine with that because thats what the computer is for, but he just hasent bothered to move my laptop. he just puts the keyboard on top and types away. the keyboard doesnt even have soft feet or anything, its just plastic edges. I am now almost certain that this is what has scratched my laptop, and its not like I can just get him to replace it, its not a cheap laptop and its just cosmetic damage, but it is seriously the most infuriating thing all summer.

Can anyone say what a very good highly competitive EDH commander is and what style fits best with it. I need help choosing a deck for Friday nights that can actually win but it would still be fun for me. I generally like decks that say screw you I do what I want and if it hurts your plan even better. (Which is why I kind of like counter-spell decks) but the meta is riddled with blue so I want to steer a bit away from that but I would be fine with splashing it. Any ideas?

@DERPLINGSUPREME dude.
I know that.
I just have no idea how about 15/16ths of those are played. thats why i was asking. I'm slightly rusty as you can tell, because as you may recall if you have an excellent memory, i once said that EDH is the place where magic players go to die. so I'm kind of stuck when it comes to building real and actually competitive EDH decks.
August 15, 2016 9:34 p.m.
DERPLINGSUPREME says... #29
@trollslayer dude.
analyze your collection and what you want to play and google a list.
and I've almost exclusively played EDH my entire MTG career, so its clearly not where we go to die. it's where we go to live with friends and retire.
August 15, 2016 9:54 p.m.
trollslayer says... #30
Die, Retire... i sometimes fail to see the difference. see, iv tried that, and thats where you get my odor deck. its not winning even 1/20 games. It was my best deck competitively. Would a lockout deck sub theme pillow fort be fun while still win a good percent of games? (yes I know that the fun part is opinion, but in the general screw you sort of way.
August 15, 2016 10:04 p.m.
DERPLINGSUPREME says... #31
@trollslayer if you enjoy that yes.
and my difference between die and retire is dying is when you sell your collection while retiring is when you get to do stuff that you wouldn't have the option to before b/c you're old and no one gives a shit if you dance in an elevator or play Scrambleverse.

oh. that makes more sense. so now I have an idea for a deck, now any help with a commander? I do believe there are over 100 commanders in that list, and I would most likely choose the wrong one (as I have done almost every other time I try to build an EDH deck/any other deck.)

ok. thanks anyways. yeah I noticed that JC 3 has been so dead recently. I was hoping that a discussion on EDH would slightly revitalize it. In this I assume and think I recall that a lot of people on here play EDH.

So, I just read the final chapter of Bleach. My heart hurts now. I don't want it to end.
August 18, 2016 4:57 p.m.
ItchiUchiha117 like, the "end" as in end of the Aizen arc, or is there an actual end end.
Cuz I basically stopped after the fullbringer arc it was so bad.

trollslayer check the deck description on there. It has a section for lists that define the tier placement of the top decks.

I just gave up after Aizen. Shit's real silly... just watch hunter x hunter.

So the FoW TCG banned Reflect/Refrain. This is the equivelant of if FoW had reversed their reserve list decision within a year. Imagine that, the game would most likely have survived and we'd all be playing with sweet reserve list cards. But I digress, the point is the FoW company did the right thing. You shouldn't promise something and then keep that promise even if it biting you in the foot. Also there's the fact that FoW didn't "promise" so much as indicate that they weren't going to. WotC does that more and more and I'm grateful that these big companies are learning not to paint themselves into a corner.
(The promise is equivalent to the reserve list promise in terms of impact but the card Reflect/Refrain was actually more like if Jace the Mind Sculptor had a counterspell attached and was your commander and all 60 card decks used P-Walkers as their commanders. Bonkers right? Spikes hate it when they are playing something OP and it gets banned though so the FoW company was very reluctant to reneg.)
So yeah props to the FoW company and props to MTG for lasting so long that other companies can learn from them. It's a great time to be alive.

So who here plays D&D, and what edition do you play/did you play? And if you do play how often?
August 18, 2016 9:57 p.m.
kengiczar if WotC had dropped the reserve list a year after they implemented it, the game would have died and no one would have been playing magic in the 21st century.
Their investors were the ones who were furious. They wouldn't have had any money to fund the game if they dropped the list.
August 18, 2016 10:47 p.m. Edited.
Why would the game have died? Do you mean the active player base wouldn't have been enough to support it? When you say investors do you mean people who were making long term speculation on MTG cards or do you mean people who invested in the company by buying stocks? Do we have any actual evidence for that assertion that the game would have died?
I am not saying you are wrong but I've heard this argument a lot but never seen it backed up by evidence.

To my great shame, I haven't actually read all of Pratchett's Diskworld novels. I'm slowly making my way through them right now. They're fantastic. Going to do the same with Butcher's Dresden Files soon. Any fantasy series you guys love?
August 20, 2016 9:17 a.m.
I've heard good things about Diskworld, would like to check it out. And I love the Dresden Files. They just get better and better with each release.

Last fantasy book I read was a few months ago, Leviathan Wakes. I've got the next four just sitting on my phone waiting to be read, just haven't gotten around to it. But I did really love the first one.

LoL isn't bad most of the time. It's just that you'll have shitty experiences every once in a while. Won my 3rd game, btw. In Plat I now. Trying to break Diamond by the end of the month.
On another note, my playergroup OKed my idea for the zombie legend I pitched a while back on this thread. Gonna make Grixis zombies. It's just hard to make the deck work in my competitive EDH group. Zombie tribal kinda sucks in comparison to the other notable tribals. They're allowing me to basically do whatever I want within reason to power creep the tribal to reach high level edh.
