Hey ThisIsBullshit, did you really take apart your burn deck after Jackson built Norin Sisters?

@ ItchiUchiha117, I know sometimes it may feel like you are alone in there, mental issues and all, but just so you know, I understand what that's like. Almost to the "T." I have severe OCD, which results in me being fine sometimes, then feeling as though I'm being molested when I touch another person. It even happens through clothing sometimes, just not as severely. Even being in the same room as others has caused my anxiety to light up my body like a forest fire. Just recently I suffered an attack that affected my ability to walk and talk properly in such a way that when I could walk, it had to be perpendicularly to my toes, and talking had to be done in three syllables. I'm not the most well-known person on this site, I know, but if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm there. The mind can be a very scary place sometimes. And yeah, therapy can help. I'd look into it. Seriously.

DarksteelBadger no, I took it apart because I lost interest in Modern and wanted to build a Legacy deck instead

I sold off a huge part of my collection yesterday. I don't play as much and I needed money to Keep up with bills. I might buylist the rest of my bulk trade stuff too because I really don't need it anymore. After my cube and edh decks are complete, I'll consider 1 main modern deck but this game is losing its appeal for me. :)

Honestly was feeling kind of sad at the direction the game was going over these last few sets. Really don't find dragons fun so didn't like KTK. Hate the eldrazi, so thought BFZ was a waste of time. Didn't enjoy Return to Innistrad, thought it was overhyped and didn't deliver. Three sets in a row just... felt down about Standard, which used to be my favorite format.

However, this new set looks like exactly what I love about this game. Awesome eye catching art on awesome fun to play cards.

Maybe just try and enjoy draft over the next few months/year while you get settled?

yeah man. I've been playing jank standard and EDH with my bros and that's been enough for me. I made some bad financial discussions lately involving a woman and i'm returning some sense to myself.

September 6, 2016 7:28 p.m.

so heres a fun little story I thought I'd share.

Today I found out there was a bomb threat at school. Some 17 y.o had posted all over social media pictures of firearms and a single bomb (looked like c4) threatening all the jews at the school. So that's fun. Luckily he was caught and arrested, and I'm fairly sure the pictures of weapons and such were just for show, not at all real.

the account name was "Columbine 420 2k16" :|

I had an absolutely nutty draft experience a few days ago. I was playing the new conspiracy set with some friends who don't spend all that much time drafting (that explains part of my success). We all agreed to walk into the draft more or less blind about the set to help out the lesser players.

I ended up getting a pack one filled with decent commons and not much else. My pick was Sinuous Vermin. My second pickup was Arcane Savant followed by Regicide. Great first three picks. I later learned that the cards my opponents had taken from the packs weren't even bad ones, so it's not like I was handed freebies. Nonetheless, I figured I was going to go for dimir control splashing red after I kept getting great dimir cards. The crux of my deck was Weight Advantage, Repulse, Skittering Crustacean, Sinuous Vermin, decent removal, Illusionary Informant, and Traumatic Visions. Red ended up being rather locked down after some point while dimir remained fairly open. Despite picking up a few Tormenting Voices, I figured with two Merfolk Looters, I'd rather go for more consistency and stuck with dimir.

Things got insane when I opened up a pack three Expropriate.

enter image description here

Exiling that thing with Arcane Savant was brutal. I had an opener of 4 lands, Arcane Savant, Vertigo Spawn, and Repulse. My first draw was another Repulse.

Playing Arcane Savant with Expropriate tied to it three times made me feel like I was piloting Narset, Enlightened Master while firing off Time Stretchs.

Are you guys still playing Pokemon Go? If you started in the first place, that is.

The game has seen such a decline in consistent play over the past few weeks. Kinda sad, if only the game wasn't pushed out so fast.

The widest range of things keep consistently spawning at my apt... I've caught a ton of Bulbasaurs and Pinsirs (I have like 75 candies..), and now Dodrios keep spawning. Kind of funny with the last as I've never seen a Doduo.

Lads. It seems life has taken to itself that I'm forbidden from feeling any hints of RAM happiness. Money went dry, abandoned by family over an ex girlfriend, current love interest is in the hospital for 3 weeks as of tonight. The only thing constant in my life is that everything that brings me joy will be ripped away. I've had multiple impulses to call it quits. I don't want to do this anymore.

For what it's worth, y'all are like family here on tapped.

A T1 burgeoning usually sets you up far enough where you can defend yourself a bit. Still, a 1v3 is hard to win.

My group actually loves to focus me because I play combo control decks, because they see me as a threat, and because I win about half of the die rolls in a group of four players. Even I don't know how that last one happens.

So my school has an option to pay tuition online, but it isn't necessarily the easiest to use. That said, I just found the worst bug with it. I paged the 300 ish dollars I owed online, but the system charged me 16 CENTS less than I needed to be charged. That's like .03% of the total payment it forgot, but it was outstanding fees so I was at risk of my classes being dropped because of it. Unfortunately, if the charge is less than a dollar, it can't be payed online. I just had to spend 30 minutes driving to School and another 15 in line to pay a 16 cent fee so I could attend school. Because the payment system is silly. I'm a little annoyed.

Do any of you guys struggle to express why you love certain things to your friends, family, coworkers, etc? I occasionally feel like shit about clearly not being able to communicate why I love the things I'm into even to like-minded people and I'm fairly articulate.

Take my love of K-On, for example. It's an incredibly well-received and massively successful anime that cemented Kyo Ani as an industry leader. The show does a brilliant job at portraying the lives of the main characters as they shape each others' lives through friendship and music. Every aspect of the show, from how each shot is blocked and lit to how characters move in their own detailed and idiosyncratic manners, serves to deepen the viewer's understanding of the main cast of characters. The attention to detail the anime has is stunning.

Most of my friends are equally into anime as I am or have at least seen enough to be considered weebs by most non-enthusiasts. When I try to point out the many things there is to like in K-On to them, they seem to brush the show off entirely because it's a moe show about cute girls doing cute things while entirely rejecting the notion that any show that falls within this genre could have depth.

I've had similar experiences with magic. Have you ever tried to explain the color wheel to someone? I have. The shit's brilliant and I've done it enough times to people who care enough about game design to attentively listen to it to become decent at breaking it down.

I sense that it's almost as if people intellectually understand the enjoyment of something yet dismiss it anyway. And I don't think it's just a 'let-them-be' kinda thing. For instance, I don't like The Beatles. I know that they're a great band and deserving of recognition. However, their music simply isn't something I enjoy listening to.

When I try to explain why I love something to others, I don't get that kinda feeling from them. It's more like they listen to me and go "...eh?" while still acknowledging that what I say makes sense. The things I'm into aren't exactly universally hated either, so I know they have merit and it's not like I spend a half-hour ranting about the wonders of Magic to people who've never played games, tcgs, or table tops.

What gives? I don't expect people to take up arms with me in pronouncing the wonders of the things I love. Just a degree of understanding, I guess. I don't mean for this to come off bitchy and I'm not all that worried about this. I just wanted to start off a conversation here since things have been pretty quiet for a while.

Thoughts?

EpicFreddi says... #35

I think it's hard for people to stop using stereotypes, even when you're open minded. For example, I'm a (big) anime fan, yet I wouldn't watch K-on because it looks too "kawaidesunee~~" for my taste (I'm more into action and such. Hellsing for example).
In the end we just have to accept the reaction of people because we can't expect them to react the way we would react.
I would go more into detail, but I'm limited with my words. Damn you, german school system!

Hey guys, has anyone here erased, and printed on cards before? I made some tokens, and want to print them. Is there a way to go to a place to get it done, or anyone able to do it, and want to trade or something?

September 24, 2016 9:43 p.m.

@ Didgeridooda - I think I saw a video about doing this- not sure how effective it is, but here it goes:

  1. Get a piece of paper/cardstock that's the same thickness as a card.
  2. Trace the outline of the card onto the center of the sheet and use a blade/scissors to cut out the center
  3. Use masking tape to tape around the edge and/or back of the card so that it stays in place
  4. Print!

I can imagine that this will take a number of trials (and could be pretty bad if it comes undone inside the printer...). I'd look for a video on YT for a better explanation.

People at my shop have used acetone (nail polish remover) to erase the ink from junk foils, created a token in Magic Set Editor, and printed the image onto clear transparency paper and then cut out and glued the transparency paper onto the card. I've never understood why Republicans are so attached to that 2nd Amendment, while they do not care about respecting a bunch of other ones from the Bill of Rights every single one of the others:

  1. 1st: They are judging Muslims on their religion;
  2. 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th: Well, looks like skin color can affect these ones;
  3. 10th: I recall something about some state trying to invalidate gay mariage, but I'm unsure about that;

@Didgeridooda play it while it's still viable, our stupid comitee just decided to make Duel Commander games start with 20 life in order to unban a lot of stuff... Guess it's going to be aggro everywhere :(
