Lelz, subpar and Em in the same sentence. Honestly, I don't care for a lot of current rap, but Em is on the short list of artists I'll listen to from the last 10-15 years.
Dre is legendary and it is very much deserved, but it's fairly well known that most (read: basically all) of his material is written by other artists (for example: I'm fairly positive that Jay-Z ghostwrote Still D.R.E. and Let Me Ride was ghostwritten by RBX... I think). He's still basically the universally acknowledged godfather of gangster rap.

This conversation is surprisingly similar to the lecture I had in US History today... We discussed the evolution of rap and hip hop with relationship to the civil rights movement.

I guess. Dre just has insane potential and used it to become a billionaire. But more as a producer/insane marketing skills. Still not a bad rapper though. Chronic was and still is great.
Kanye was great before 2013. Now he's going downhill.
Cole is great and is on his way to the top for sure. His lyrics have real meaning usually, which is nice.
Eminem was great up until around 2010. He's only made a handful of good songs since then. Still is regarded as EASILY one of the best of all time.
Drake is good. Yes, he does some R&B, but he's still a great rapper.
50-Cent is good too. He did one INSANELy great album, but not much great beyond that. Still not a bad rapper though.
May 14, 2015 5:54 p.m.
And fluffy, couldn't agree more. Even his funny songs are great. I'm even listening to Without Me right now. xP

Ryotenchi, there is no replacing it. Once it's gone, it's gone, sadly. I still get nostalgic for it to this day. But nothing compares.
May 14, 2015 6 p.m.
Agreed... I really only replaced an addiction with a greater addiction I didnt spend enough time with. :P ...Though It will never be like the first 2 expansions...
Id still play if Id had enough gold to buy one of these new tokens... and start farming gold up.

Man, why we talkin' about rap?
EDM WOO... RAWSTYLE WOO... Monstercat woo!... woo?
May 14, 2015 6:06 p.m.
Totally. I started basically right when the first major patch of Burning Crusade dropped. Played through the end of Wrath and quit just before Cataclysm. That's when it started to get too casual and unbalanced for me. Warlords looks pretty sweet though. It's almost drawn me in a couple times now, but I've resisted.

RAP=
Rythmic American Poetry
I am a great lover of profane poetry.
And Runlue, because RAP>EDM.
May 14, 2015 6:18 p.m.
@fluffybunnypants That's basically exactly what I said. Eminem has just went downhill in the last 5-7 years. Everything from Infinite to Encore I consider to be his best, with Encore on the weaker end of the spectrum.

My brother got me into the devil is a part timer. It is hilarious
May 14, 2015 6:25 p.m.
Mozzy? More like MUZZY, HAHAHA THAT GUY'S AWESOME.
But no one will know who I'm talking about. 3:
Except maybe ABMP. Woo.

@ Slayne
I actually consider Em's newest stuff, specifically off his latest album, to be some of the best material that he's written... and I've heard all of it. Who the fuck nonchalantly throws the word rumplestiltskin into a verse and makes it make sense? Seriously.
May 14, 2015 6:32 p.m.
I'm not saying it's bad or anything, I just don't think it's a good as his old stuff. Maybe it's just his voice and flows. He sounds like Tech N9ne on a lot of songs now. Some of the songs on MMLP2 just didn't hold up though. Survival, The Monster(purely do to Rihanna. I hate anything he does with Rihanna), Love Game, and Beautiful Pain I just couldn't get behind.

I'm also done with WoW... probably for good. I came back briefly after a very extended break post HM Lich King for end game content in Cata and again in Panda because my raid leader offered to cover my sub and bought the expacs for me, I recently turned down an offer for mythic raiding in WoD. Guess high end main healers are hard to find.
May 14, 2015 6:39 p.m.
Yes Amazing healers are hard to find.. and the dude ones with egos never stick around so. :P
Im a rogue though... In personality too... There is never a need for a rogue.. Especially last expansion, Melee were screwed until garrosh hard mode..
but now I dont play any 'virtual' game I enjoy enough to obsess about... so bored..
May 14, 2015 6:45 p.m.
I used to be a pretty good tank in my WoW days. Haven't played in a while though.
May 14, 2015 6:46 p.m.
DERPLINGSUPREME says... #26
I was a tank in WOW. a deathknight, too.
I was the "tank" b/c I had maxed enough of my stuff that as long as I had buffs up from clerics, I could 1-shot enemies. raid bosses? more like 30, so I was just DPS there. still, best defence is good offence.

Yall need to hit up Hip Hop 101... Listing some busted ass phony shit.
Number 1 is 2pac and there is no debate.
2-5 in no order: Biggie Smalls, Scarface, UGK, Cam'ron
Rap pretty much died as a genre after Lil Wayne adopted The Diplomats style/swagger and created Young Money records. They took the metaphorical lyrics too far and the shit turned into pop. Guys like Drake are not real rappers, they're pop artists.
May 14, 2015 6:51 p.m.
There are some good modern day rappers, but overall you're right Rasta_Viking29. Mainstream is garbage.
Biggie and Pac are definitely top 2.

Would you people consider Kid Cudi a rapper? I don't know much about today's rap, but he's the only modern-day rapper I listen to regularly outside of working out. Any other rappers/singers that are similar to him?
May 14, 2015 8 p.m.
Yea, that's rap. He's actually not at all. Day n' Nite was a great single...
May 14, 2015 8:02 p.m. Edited.

@bijschjdbcd the fuck does that mean?

I love his song "Pursuit of Happiness" simply because of how ironic it is. "Day 'N' Nite" isn't my favorite, but I'll say that it's good. "Up Up & Away" is probably my second favorite Cudi song.
Slayne says... #1
He did most of Em's beats too.
