CommanderOfBolas Just try and grab riven every game and go top regardless of what your team mates are doing. They'll bitch and moan and sometimes throw the game but if you get good with riven you can brute force your way up the ranks.

I personally prefer mid. I've gotten pretty solid with Yasuo and I'm decent with ahri, but I really want to git gud with LeBlanc. I also am a pretty good Lee sin jungler, but again, I prefer mid

I used to work for Riot's eSports team. I'm a huge Nidalee mid or support fan.

LeBlanc is a shadow of what she used to be. Her q's damage was halved and doesn't even silence any more. Don't try and main her, she's not worth it anymore.

It's funny that you mention nidalee mid, and that skin. Cuz that is exactly what rekt me in my first ranked LB game.

Epochalyptik says... #10
The only way to get mechanically good at LeBlanc is to play LeBlanc and consciously assess your misplays. The two big things are your combo order and when to use your W and R(W) to engage or disengage.
I know Faker recommends that all players learn Ryze to understand the importance of timing and ability order. That much is up to you.
May 18, 2015 2:41 p.m.
Lol, yeah CommanderOfBolas, a good Nidalee player can ruin your day all game long. And if they snowball, it's GG when they start 1-shotting your tank/bruisers.
May 18, 2015 2:43 p.m.
They also ruined ryze. Ryze with a skillshot? Are you kidding me?
Oh, and they ruined LeBlanc's early game mana too. Her spells cost way more than they did. She can't pressure in lane cuz then she's out of mana and can't kill her lane opponent.

I think LB is still good. She was just broken when her q silenced and dealt twice as much damage. I'm pretty decent with her now, I am just having a hard time improving by playing against significantly better opponents because it feels like any play is wrong. Basically my issue is that improving from where I am now seems to require a huge step rather than 2 or 3 smaller steps.
May 18, 2015 2:47 p.m.
CommanderOfBolas says... #14
That is another issue I have had with LB. I feel like I need a crystalline flask to stay and pressure lane, but I really want to start Doran ring and some health pots. Maybe I just do ring plus mana pots?

My issue with Riot is that in order to keep a "balance", they are constantly nerfing champions more than they should be nerfed. What this does, instead of restoring a balance, is just make a couple of other champions who were on the verge of being too good, actually too good. And then there's a new set of champions that people complain about. And constantly releasing new champions that are either way OP or terrible doesn't help this balance as they want the new champs they've spent a lot of time creating to be playable. So they ruin old champs to make way for the new ones.
They are just too reactive in their fixes, and it's upsetting to have a few champions that you love just to have em broken. I've been saying since the beginning of season 2 when I started playing that they needed to be more proactive. Instead of making good, useable, champions underpowered, they should just buff the other characters a bit and see what happens. This way, if they didn't buff them enough, the current set of "good" champions are still in working condition and they can go from there. And since everyone else got a buff, the "op" champs aren't as op.
But they don't really do this.
May 18, 2015 2:53 p.m.
The thing was, Leblanc did a ton of damage. But she was also a glass cannon. She got one-two shot by AD carries towards mid-late game. That was what the balance was. Sure, get rid of the silence, fine. But the damage nerf and increasing her mana costs was unnecessary. They could have just given some items an aditional 5-10 MR instead.
And it's not like she was ever tier 1. It's not like she was being used in pro games. They just nerfed her cuz mid level players were complaining.

I have practically zero time to watch anything. When I do have time, it's after the kids are asleep, and I'm sitting at the table doing actual work (not fun) and putting the television on in the background for noise and occasional moments of break from wanting to sledgehammer my brain. I'm right now midway through season 4 of my second go-through of Psych. I'd rewatch Eureka!, but Netflix only has the last two seasons. I'd put Big Bang Theory on, but Netflix says "Nuh uh!" Any suggestions for something fun that I don't really need to pay any attention to but is still somewhat smart?

I like documentaries in situations like that. I always get pulled into the tv when it is on though. I am not good at multi tasking.
If you can get History channel streaming, Vikings is great.
May 18, 2015 3:22 p.m.
House of cards, daredevil, star wars clone wars, 100 are all good netflix fodder Imo. Arrow, is decent too. I am in the same situation, free time is after kids are asleep.

If you haven't seen it, The Blacklist is absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough good things about it, and season 1 is on netflix.

I liked the second arc of season 1 SAO. I think one of the biggest reasons most people didn't like it was because he went into a game where everyone was a fairy. If you don't like the whole fairy thing, just try not to think about it.
I don't like talking about LH in the same text as SAO, so I had to start a new paragraph . . . Anyways, for me, I like LH a lot because it is less of the fantasy aspect, but more of the real life aspect. Like, the are in a fantasy world, but in order to survive efficiently, and without going cra-cra, they try and make life as normal as they can. I like the fact that they are trying to establish themselves in a game world.
:P

so, who would win in a fight, Kurosaki Ichigo, or Uzumaki Naruto?
May 18, 2015 4 p.m.
Both are fictional and it's illogical to compare them since their worlds are completely different. Apples and oranges.
May 18, 2015 4:03 p.m.
NoviceMagician says... #25
It is easier to compare opposite things than it is to compare like things. I'd also like to note that I called for no comparison on the matter. I proposed a question that asked only for an answer, not for explanations.
Besides, apples have thin peels/skins, oranges have thick peels/skins.

NoviceMagician I just looked it up, and Chakra is a form of life energy. As such, it wouldn't even effect Ichigo in his soul reaper form. As ridiculously stupidly strong as Naruto ended up, I would venture to say that you can not use life energy or marshal arts against a soul reaper who is dead and wielding a big ass sword.
May 18, 2015 4:09 p.m. Edited.
NoviceMagician says... #27
Well, chakra is a combination of both physical and spiritual energies, and one could say that in Bleach, people with a high enough soul power were able to see and touch shinigami; and, chakra includes the combination of spiritual power, so it could be that he would be considered a normal human, only with insane amounts of soul power.
I was just trying to spark up conversation. I myself would like for Ichigo to win, but since it is impossible to fully know what his capabilities were during Final Getsuga Tenshou, it is really hard to say if that would still be enough to take down someone who wields practically infinite chakra.

NoviceMagician my issue is with how the second half of SAO treated Asuna as something of the petty damsel in distress. One of the biggest reasons this bothers me is because the previous arc established her as a competent and fairly kick ass character. Granted, no one in SAO is treated as fully fleshed out characters, but I found that the second arc of season one introduced too many new elements and watered down the stronger elements of the first arc. The second arc does have its own strengths, but I feel the weaknesses far outweigh these.
I've found a similar trend in LH Season 2 also. I thoroughly enjoy the concept and ideas behind the situation the protagonists face, however, season 2 is, at least from what I've slogged through thus far, far more goofy. There are some good moments, but for every good moment there's something that I find annoying.
May 18, 2015 5:37 p.m.
NoviceMagician says... #29
Yeah, you're right about Asuna being turned from a kick-ass character to a weak-sauce character. Unfortunately, the same thing kept going on in SAO 2 :(

We had a friend in our group that ran an Izzet deck with Krenko, Mob Boss and Freed from the Real. One time in a 4-way multiplayer game, we all ended up without removal for a couple turns and he managed to Krenk out (literally) an army of 10,000 goblins. After a point, the game was already his, but he kept going just to say that he had built the Magic equivalent of Saruman's army. Then he killed us all in one swing.

I was actually going to bring that up, about Tennis. He had some surgery two days ago, I think about his brain or something, so I guess that it's normal that he's not super active right now, but I'm still a bit worried...

@CommanderOfBolas: git gud.
The actual git gud process is something like this:
Be bad -> play more -> git gud.
Let me know if you need more info.
