Anyone up to run a modern roto draft like what's been going around on Twitter and the like and then have a tournament with the decks afterwards?
I might be able to start setting one up later on today or tomorrow, if like to get a full 8 people committed to doing this over a week or two followed by a full mini tournament with our decks. So, looking like there is some interest, I'll start pulling it together.

I'm gonna start tagging this thread into mutliple other threads. I know it is old, but I am necro'ing it in hopes that it can be the center hub for finding people to play against here on untap until yeago does something new with broadcast function we have.

So this is something like what I'm thinking we could use for our picks. Make it visible to all and editable by only those actually in the draft. Thoughts anyone?

Once we get enough people to start I'll collect emails and invite everyone to it, and perhaps add twitter handles, if people are into that.

Yeah, def on the Twitter handles or Facebook pages. Possibly make a group so we can do this repeatedly and/or have multiple going at once. All with different and unique participants

trollslayer - Roto is short for Rotisserie, and a Roto draft is where your pack is an entire subset of cards. In this case, you would pick from the entire pool of Modern legal cards. And this happens "face up" so everyone gets to see your picks. Then the draft snakes around from the 1st person to draft. So the 1st pick also gets the 16th pick, while the 8th pick also gets the 9th pick.

Oh, I forgot to mention teh draft. We would draft using the google doc that phoerix made, and you would input your pick there and alert the next person of their pick. It will probably take about a week or two to finish the draft, and then we would play out the drafts probably on Cockatrice or Xmage depending on what the groups' preference is.

Sorry in advance if I look like a spammer: I'm just pumped to roto.
Any plans so far? I got lots of plans (none of them necessarily aggro), but it might be good to share some.
Is Untap.in a viable play source? I have an Untap account (username Swaggy) but can't download Cockatrice (or anything else for that matter on my shitty 5(?) year old laptop) and have no idea what Xmage is.

I think the draft will work out better if we don't tell each other our plans for the draft itself :)
Also, once we get 8 I think it'd be a good idea to randomize our list instead of first person in getting the first pick. It only seems fair.
I have no problem with Untap.in as a place to play the games. Just as long as you get to play out your match within a reasonable timeframe.
ALSO! Tomorrow night at at 6pm Pacific time, the Modern Roto draft will be streamed on twitch.tv/magic!

I'm totally going to watch it tomorrow night if at all possible, super excited for that.
I think everyone here, or close enough, knows how to use untap, so I think that is probably the best option for the matches afterwards.
I'll definitely randomize the order, that could make quite a difference indeed.

It wouldn't let me add on my phone and my laptop had issues last night. I added whoever had requested it twice yesterday through my email, so I think Putrid is in.

We're just going to randomize the names once we get 8 people. That way no one gets an advantage/disadvantage from getting into the pod sooner or later.

I'm going to do a randomizer and upload the results here, then just follow in snake draft order (1-2-3-3-2-1-1-2-3....)
If anyone who's been added to the editor list has a twitter account and wants to add themselves, feel free. it'll let us let everyone else know when we've made a move and who's next.

We've got the order for the draft here, and I'll update the spreadsheet to reflect it. We can also use that site to put in our matches as we finish them and go on. If you're in the website there you can log in and I'll add you into it if you like, otherwise I can do the bookkeeping myself.
