Lets say some MTG rule changed tomorrow and you could only pick one deck type to play for the rest of your life. You can adjust your deck within its specific type, but it cannot change to a different type (i.e. - turning a red burn deck into an red aggro deck).
Myself for example - I am absolutely smitten with Mono-Black Control. I currently run a budget version, though I'd love to grow it to its full potential. It is an exciting dance of timing, skill, and draw, one you never are quite sure you'll win till the game is done.
What would you pick?

Mono White - Black/White Life Gain/DrainMaybe Tokens if it counts as close enough

What a tough question. UW control was always a baby of mine. Play it in EDH. Played it successfully in standard a few times. Looks decent in modern. I guess id give a go at that.

@EludeMerlange - How about Ana? I think that's far worse, but that's just me...

Probably Merfolk... because Merfolk. I'd cheat and run a Sygg, River Guide EDH though.

RG Aggro/Landfall/Artarka Red sorta deck because of the explosiveness of it.

Mono-U combo control in EDH. In the grand scheme of things, the archetype is pretty mediocre. That makes piecing together combo pieces vs decent decks a challenge. Arcanis and Azami are nice people. What can I say?
