Hey! Firstly I just want to say what a huge fan I am of Magic the Gathering! I, myself, have started a YouTube channel (Not asking for subs or advertising haha) and I have a few questions for you guys.
1. I posted a MTG video a month ago and it received lots of views (compared to other videos on my channel) Should I make a new channel for just MTG or stick with this one and just change my name? I have 15 videos and 18 subs so the switch wouldnt be heart breaking but will it be necessary? 2. I was wondering if I could get tips on branding as a MTG YouTuber

Any help is greatly appreciated!-MyNameIsJosh

Personally, I would create a new channel.

IPoize what do you think?

For branding, check out youtubers like TheManaSource (103k subs, all around youtuber), MTGHeadquarters (118k subs, sorta an all around youtuber, but has a fat pack opening series), DariumsCCG's (38k subs, Card Shop life and stuff, Profit or Loss series)

See how each channel has a different theme, I'd find one that works and stick to it. Budgetwise, I'd stay away from pack openings as they get expensive and all mainstream channels open bigger and more exciting product weekly, which sadly, overshadows smaller channels. (But I'm IPoize found a way that to get around this). Videos playing MTG are free to make, and can be really interesting (like running Maze's End combo vs. another combo deck). But it's always cool to do something different once in a while.

Also, don't do something that might annoy people. I used to follow Value Hunter but he seemed arrogant, only cared about $, and sweared alot so I unsubbed. Some people are cool with it, but I just don't. For me, TCC is not a channel u usually watch because I feel his videos get annoying.

Hope this helps,

The first thing I will say, one aspiring YouTuber to another, is to just do something you like. don't coral yourself into only MTG, let your subs know that that's not necessarily all their going to get. and lastly, just chose a name you like and stick with it. I guess just don't try to be someone else in order to get views, just be your self and put up videos your happy with.

Wow! Awesome responses guys! I will definitely use this advice! I always love to watch MTG on YouTube and I found making MTG videos to be a bit more enjoyable than gameplay videos I guess! Thanks again!
