So I have a card that is special to me for literally no reason other than it was my first favorite card, and I always loved it. Phyrexian Hulk it's not very good, but I loved it a ton when I first started playing. I was wondering what are some nostalgic cards for you all, for whatever reason. Also I wasn't sure if this was the place to put this but I hope it was lol
I love these kinds of posts!
I am gonna say Conundrum Sphinx for my post. When I first started to actively collect/deckbuild on my own; this was one of the fist cards that I truly tried to build around from the bottom up. I was CONVINCED that if I had a 4/4 Flying "draw engine" in I would be unbeatable...Granted that wasnt the case but I really had fun building around it with all of the scry and such out there.

Amusingly, one of mine is Phyrexian Hulk as well, though a different edition than the one you linked. The flavour extol the 7th Edition printing has always amused me.
Some other favourites are Battle of Wits and Karona, False God - I have always been a sucker for difficult to build around cards.
Then there are the older style of sliver. That entire tribe would make my nostalgic list - everyone I knew who was playing during Scourge had a sliver deck, leading to some very interesting games with out-of-control lording.

Sphinx of Magosi has always been a favorite of mine, and really close to me. It may not be the best card ever, but +1/+1 counters and draw is so cool! I don't know why, but it has always just been close to me.

Lambholt Pacifist Flip/ Lambholt Butcher is by far my favorite ever. I love Werewolves, I loved Shadows over Innistrad, and I loved the flavor of the card. The fact that it was actually competitive too was just icing on the cake :-)

My first deck that actually won games was a G/B Graveyard deck during Theros Standard. I was advised to build it by the back of an M15 token. It ran four Nighthowler . It wasn’t tier, but I loved it. I still have my play set.

I think my favorite card is the plainswalker I opened in my first booster pack, a foil
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver
.
I have it in my
Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow
unblockable ninjas deck just because of how much I love it.

Giant Adephage is probably mine. While a nice, if not amazing, card, it just appeals to something in my brain, making me keep trying it out
I’m also probably making a deck to play Dragonlord Ojutai , Kaya, Ghost Assassin , and Sorin, Grim Nemesis , and no other reason

One of my favorites was Prophet of Kruphix , that I played when still new to magic, in this casual deck before I even knew of any formats such as commander. Likewise, this deck included a few other things such as Arcanis the Omnipotent , Roil Elemental use to be a ton of fun with ramp cards like Explosive Vegetation too. Before long, I opened a Windswept Heath and sold this when I discovered it was actually something worth a lot, to acquire a bunch of cards like a Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger , Kozilek, Butcher of Truth , Omnath, Locus of Mana , etc. This was all before I yet still even knew of any formats and sadly some of those cards didn't get used later.
Although I have yet never played with it, I really for some reason like the card Elderscale Wurm because it has such a unique ability.
Because of that early Theros clash deck that contained Prophet of Kruphix , Hydra Broodmaster , Prognostic Sphinx which formed my first magic deck, the Simic colour pair I still very much enjoy to this day.

When I started playing, I was compleatly sure Avenging Angel was the best card ever printed XD. Those were good times. Besides, the art is nice.

My favorite card has a story attached.
So, I had just started playing and went to my store owner to get this card, and he said they were all out. He then said “why don’t you get a booster pack and maybe you’ll open it?” So I get the pack and open the card. That card, Saheeli Rai , is my favorite because I got her when I wanted her.

Mirran Crusader holding a scars block sword of x and y, all the power of ending the game with a combo, but in the hands of a small human knight holding an equipment, so good, best standard formats no contest.

My favorite card is also my favorite character, planeswalker and creature. I prefer the creature version to the walker, but both are awesome - Venser, Shaper Savant is everything I want to do in Magic. His story is great and I am sad he is definitevely dead, but he did a bunch of cool things.

Honestly, no one has yet convinced me that Searing Meditation isn’t the most powerful text ever printed on cardboard. It wrecked in the Naya deck I learned to play Magic with, it inspired me to be a Johnny, and I’ve forced it into SO many decks since. It’s my opinion that they just haven’t printed 56 other cards good enough for it yet(;
Other fav is Deranged Assistant , cuz that flavor and flavor text!

One of my favorite cards was Assemble the Legion . It totaly destroyed my playgroup when we all where new to the game.
An other favorite of mine is Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker cuz its bolas do i need to explain? ;)

One of my favorite cards is Mayor of Avabruck Flip. It was the first rare I ever got, and the second magic card I had ever got in general. I wanted to start playing Magic when I was younger, and since I only played Pokémon TCG at the time, I had to trade some of my best Pokémon cards for it. It wrecked my friends when I played with them, because 2/2 wolves every turn was way stronger than the rest of our weak starter decks.

My first favorite card was probably Hymn to Tourach . I was the only one in my group that played and they hated seeing me drop that card.

Three of my favorites are Narset Transcendent , Mindswipe , and Crackling Doom .

FSims81,
Yeah, even though "Best card in Fallen Empires" is not exactly high praise,
Hymn to Tourach
was pretty amazing.

My favorite card, like many others is seems, is tied to the early days of playing Magic. I have always loved crocodiles and alligators so when I started playing and learned there was a rare Emperor Crocodile (now a common lol) it quickly became my favorite card. I still to this day love when they print playable Crocodiles and hope one day to see another perhaps unseat the emperor.
Another of my favorites is for the art alone. I will always have a soft spot for Rathi Dragon . I always try and find a home for it in decks but its tough.

I loved Living Wall . When you're new to magic and everyone you play with has weak cards, this guy could block anything. I didn't even understand what regenerate did, but he never died anyway. I loved him. I also liked the art.

I remember Xanthic Statue was the card I pulled when I cracked my first pack. I remembering being amazed how big it could be, and by the (now, admittedly not so great) artwork on the card.

One of mine was Spirit of the Night . I love the artwork on this card. I never played it with Urborg Panther , Feral Shadow and Breathstealer like you're supposed to. Mostly because I was like 12 at the time and didn't have the awareness that competitive magic was a thing. I might build a Mono Black deck one day around this "combo" just for old times sake.

Wow. That's some kind of Yu-Gi-Oh stuff going on there.

Who can guess MYYYYY favorite card????
Besides the obvious of course, my favorite card is Humble Defector . The flavor is awesome, but the POLITICS in EDH... magical.

Back when I started playing, I really liked Elvish Warrior because of its art and flavor text. Same for Elvish Champion
Nowadays Ghave, Guru of Spores is my favorite, though I also really like Earthcraft and Doubling Season (both of which just happen to be in my Ghave deck.)

Llanowar Elves , specifically the Dominaria Open House Promo, which I can't link :/ It was the my first promo card, foil card, and card that wasn't from Welcome Decks. It was also the first time I played Magic outside of a buddy trying to teach me. Thanks for asking :D

MJS154,
For future reference, it's linked as Llanowar Elves (MOP):
And yeah, that card is gorgeous ...

My favorite card is Nesting Wurm because when i was first learning how to play my friend used a whole playset against me. never beat that deck then he moved and i never got another chance

When I first started playing, I somehow got my hands on a Possibility Storm . For one, I just LOVED the art and the effect isn't too shabby either, considering that it really screws up control. I kept trying to wedge it into any of my decks that had but it just wasn't synergistic with any of them; really frustrating. Then one day, I got really drunk and angry to the point of entering a BLIND RAGE because of that; I grabbed my shotgun and completely destroyed the shed, burning down what was left of it; and then I made a Possibility Storm Deck! Originally, the deck was pure chaos and worked like a charm; I recently added in a mill sub-theme which just made it even more awesome!

Oblivion Sower is by far my favorite card, my first exile matters card and the duel decks version is gorgeous, I keep looking for a place to put it but until more exile matters cards get through Wizards R&D I'll think I'll just have to sit on it.

Silklash Spider. It was dining room table magic 15 years ago. My friends and I played unformatted anything goes and we were terrible. I had a spider deck and one of my friends had an angel deck. I equipped Silklash with the Sword of Kaldra and wiped out an army of angels.

The first Mythic I ever pulled, and still the most valuable card in my collection... even if I never can bring myself to put it in a deck.
The art, man.
This is the card that made me decide to make Teysa my commander, even if it doesn't have a place in the deck anymore. Just the duality of it, how each side was totally opposite yet could synergize perfectly in the right deck.

Bontu the Glorified is probably one of my favorite cards, although I also love Goblin Lackey and Squee, Goblin Nabob , as i used to play a lot of mono-red and used them both.

For me, one of my first cards I opened was Terra Stomper . It's not a terrible card, 8/8, trample, can't be countered for 3GGG is definitely strong but for some reason doesn't quite cut it, kinda understand why but not sure...
