Terrible meta. Looking for a new group in Florida

Long story short my meta is garbage. The players are trashy not in games and out of games and it's turning into Magic: The Ghetto very quickly. So is there anyone within 20 minutes of Spring Hill Florida that wants to get a few games in?

You don't even know man. It's terrible. Shop always smells like pot. People getting into fights over commander. I mean he'll half of heir land base says section 8 on it.

Lmao "I am sick and tired of interacting with the smelly poors, are there any gentrified neighborhoods nearby where I can play without fear of someone raising their voice at me?"

Oh, get off your high-horse, bro. Sounds like you need a joint or two to relax. I bet I could get a diamond if I stick some coal in your ass.

Not really how I meant to sound. When I said fights I meant literal fights. The reasonable players that used to play at my shop all left when the little gremlins decided to start playing.

And that part about being a stuffy, money-bags elitist making fun of people for using government-funded assistance programs?
I'm sure you didn't mean that, either.
TBH, you sound simply deplorable to be around.

NICE one, bro.
Don't worry. I'm sure all those playgroup invitations will be flooding in any minute now.
unsubscribes

A shame you cant be just a few hours south. If youre ever in Lee County for any period of time look up 2Drop Game Shop and Dungeon Games. Both in Fort Myers but both are amazing shops to play at. Tell them Richard sent ya :P

I believe I passed through Dungeon Games about a year ago when I was in town for classes I had to take for work. It was nice if its the store I remember haha. I seem to be stuck smack dab in the middle of 0 EDH world. There's only one shop that's less than 45 minutes away from me.

If you visited Dungeon, you'd know. Probably the same one. Its grown a good bit over the last year. Really, just move to Lee County man :P I promise the gators arent too bad down here, and the panthers are quite friendly. I feel you though, I live down in Naples and the only shop down here opened this month, so its still really small, mostly comics, and their FNM is casual Vintage, which is great, just not my thing

Oh gentlemen please..
Can we keep it classy here? Name calling, downing on people less fortunate, pseudo-homophobia.. I feel like this is all beneath us. We're a great community here on T/O but I've noticed over the past few months it seems like everyone wants to start a conflict.. Can't we all just get along like civilized ladies/gentlemen?

Statement retracted. After a bit of sleuthing (snooping, really) I saw both parties hashed it out like men. Good job gentlemen. Misunderstandings can lead to shots fired very quickly. Glad you guys worked it out.
As for what Deckologist said, that sounds rough man.. I don't often associate wannabe gangsters and MTG, but I guess Magic does kind of transcend every social norms and you get people from all walks of life.
It sucks that this gang of ruffians are turning your shop into an unenjoyable place for you to play. I ran into a similar yet far less dramatic situation in my one of the shops I used to play at, except for toting guns, the bastards toted inflated egos and trash talk. Not as dangerous, but certainly made it a hostile place since once people run their mouths I tend to have a few retorts of my own.
Let's hope these dudes aren't there to stay. What has the shopkeeper said about these fellas?

Also, you can do what we did in Napels when we had no shops. Bribe IHOP to let you play there at 2 AM. Not even kidding.

I don't know, shop is changing over to someone else so its kinda their problem now. I'm considering having EDH nights at my house. Bring beer, pitch in for food and lets party haha.

Deckologist: Honestly, that's how I've had the most fun with EDH night. That way you can make it an invite only ordeal and you don't have to risk someone undesirable shambling over to your table and trying to drop in on your game with friends.
Additionally, I assume bringing beer into a shop is a big no-no, but playing EDH with beer is a big yes-yes.

I'm down in Fort Myers too. I don't get out too much but I have been to 2 drop a few times and it really is a great shop

Dang.... I didn't even know not having a shop nearby was an issue.... I live in Tacoma WA. and there's a shop every 10 miles or so (and like 4 downtown)
I suppose wotc is from this area so that might be why...

i feel you. our LGS has 2 backrooms, 1 for mtg and 1 for tabletop. the tabletop area is always flooded with noisy kids around 12y/o that play yugioh. THEY.ARE.SO.LOUD
sometimes they all leave at the same time (unknown reason, maybe a yugioh thing...) and you can actually feel the silence surrounding us when they are gone. damn they are so loud.
