Hello T/O! I want to comprise a list of people that know a lot/and or play different decks. These categories include control, aggro, midrange, different tribal builds, color combinations, different combos, etc. There will be two lists: Standard and Modern. FAMOUSWATERMELON has already gotten some of the modern list on their profile.

Please comment with what archetype you qualify for. I am doing this for the purpose of letting the community have a knowledgebase for deck help. When the list is finished, I ask that you post it on your profile and spread the word for others to do it as well. Thanks in advance for helping!

I do EDH A LOT and can help with tokens, graveyard stuff, group hug, etc. I'm best at helping when they have an idea of what they're doing first.

slovakattack is an expert on 4C Gifts. I'm no longer knowledgeable about Modern or Standard, been away too long. I'm good at EDH, Avatar: the Last Airbender, and DC Comics. And grammar. So if those come up... actually just check Google.

I'm good at Prison/Lockdown EDH with Zedruu the Greathearted and Sharuum the Hegemon.

Also good with artifacts less played in modern and coming up with alternate twists on modern decks (See my Bitterblossom Tron deck, not sure if I can link it here).

If you have a popular modern shell that's pricey I can help you trim the price down while still having something effective. This doesn't mean replacing shocks with guildgates, but Checklands are suitable. See? My MTG motto is: Reasonable performance for a reasonable price.

I've also been playing Shattergang Brothers since it was released and am able to terrorize anybody with it.

we already have a modern primer. ChiefBell?

a standard primer rotates too fast to keep the list relevant.

June 6, 2015 5:57 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #6

So we have the modern primer which helps to describe what kinds of decks are prevalent but it does not help you to find users that specialise in particular types of decks in order that you contact one to get the best help.

I specialise in BG/x but can do most of modern. Most of it.

Non-goyf based GB decks (So Loam decks, essentially), and Grixis Twin.

I'm great at EDH, any combo deck in Modern, and anything with Heartless Summoning. Also soon I should be able to say I'm proficient in Lands for Legacy, just need to run though some more reps to ensure I can see the lines quickly.

mathimus55 says... #9

I've been spending lots of time learning Merfolk the past few months. I wouldn't say I've mastered it yet but I think I know the deck and most of its different lines well

June 6, 2015 8:21 a.m.

Wow, I got ninja'd. I was just about to start this post when I saw this one in my notifications XD

Also, for the moment, I have:

Soul Sisters: JexInfinite

Control: JexInfinite, bijschjdbcd, CanadianShinobi, kyuuri117

Junk (Abzan): ChiefBell

Jund: Scorprix

Loam: ThatJunkMage

B/W Tokens: xzzane

If any of this information is wrong, please tell me. It's what I've been able to gather looking at profiles and decks so far.

June 6, 2015 8:38 a.m. Edited.

Also, final note, please be serious about this kind of stuff. I'm making this list so that the site can function a bit better, and it won't work if you claim you know something that you don't.

June 6, 2015 8:42 a.m.

Coinman1863 says... #12

I myself use the ye old plain R/W version of RDW in modern, I have been refining it for a few years. I think I got it down to a science but my sideboard is always shifting with the local meta.

ChiefBell says... #13

FAMOUSWATERMELON - If you compile a list and try your hardest to keep it up to date (maybe make it a deck?) then I can link to it in the primer! :)

Putrefy - Jund

xzzane - Tokens

I'm happy to do rock as well, I'm comfortable with delver too. I like to play delver when I'm relaxing haha.

June 6, 2015 8:59 a.m.

Sure :) It's all on my profile, but I'll make a deck in a few secs.

EDIT: Over here!

I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about Assault Loam and Death and Taxes. I also know a good deal about Restore Balance (though only the post version, really).

June 6, 2015 9:08 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #16

Jay - could you write a restore balance primer for the modern format primer?

June 6, 2015 9:08 a.m.

Jay says... #17

Yea sure thing. I can most likely write it up today or tomorrow.

June 6, 2015 9:09 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #18

If you do it as the description to the decklist I can just copy and paste it in. Check the format primer deck sections for the type of formatting that we normally use :)

Link me in the deck comments.

Have you noticed how like, the modern users on this site are really active with content, discussion, primers, and general information whereas the standard and legacy/vintage users are like 'meh'.

June 6, 2015 9:18 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #20

This site tends to gravitate towards modern and EDH for some reason. /shrug

June 6, 2015 9:21 a.m.

Arvail says... #21

EDH, especially anything that's blue, combo, or control based.

June 6, 2015 9:36 a.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #22

I play Affinity and occasionally make EDH decks.

June 6, 2015 9:39 a.m.

Jay says... #23

Oh yea I forgot to mention EDH. I play Bx or Bxx decks in EDH. Most knowledgeable in Nath of the Gilt-Leaf.

June 6, 2015 9:42 a.m.

I've been playing burn for a while but I'm sure queso has that handled.

June 6, 2015 9:47 a.m.

We can have multiple people with the same specialty. In fact, that would probably be better. Control already has 4 or 5 people.

Anyhow, keep it coming.

June 6, 2015 9:54 a.m. Edited.

I play Red Deck Wins/Burn in both Modern and Legacy, Abzan in Modern and Legacy, and 12 Post in Legacy. I have enough knowledge about Affinity in Modern and Legacy as well as Dredge in Legacy, as I have a good friend that pilots those decks, and I have as well.

I don't play Standard and have recently gotten hardcore into EDH.

June 6, 2015 9:55 a.m.

I also play Kaalia in EDH and although I don't have a lot of experience with other commanders, I can lecture on mana bases for daze

June 6, 2015 9:57 a.m.

Going through the list, we are missing users for the following major archetypes in Modern: Tron (both U and GR), Living End, Ad Nauseam (if anyone plays that at all XD), Hatebears, Boggles, Zoo, Fae, and 8-Rack. If you know anyone who is very knowledgable in these archetypes, please let me know :)

June 6, 2015 10:10 a.m.

Jay says... #29

I know a little about Hatebears. More about Death and Taxes but they're pretty close.

June 6, 2015 10:12 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #30

I'm knowledgeable about U Tron and 8rack and have dabbled in zoo. (although it was a homebrew that took a lot of hatebears elements)

June 6, 2015 10:12 a.m.

Noises plays U Tron if I remember correctly.

FBP plays AdNas.....I think?

Somebody plays faeries, I just don't remember who it is.

Edit: lol ninja'd by the man himself

June 6, 2015 10:12 a.m. Edited.

mathimus55 says... #32

I think the modern user base is growing and there's lots of excitement which leads to more active users. Lots more room to brew where legacy has much less turnover regarding new decks and tech.

Also, FAMOUSWATERMELON outside of my merfolk obsession I played a healthy amount of hatebears/d&t variants in my day but it's transitioned Collected Company lately. I know that's a newer archetype to go into but I've got some experience with it

June 6, 2015 10:15 a.m.

Oh yeah, also Elves (Collected Company variant, I guess) and Melira podless pod.

fluffybunnypants, do you? (read two comments up if you don't understand the question).

Dylan says... #34

I know a lot about magic cards, Shocker Right

I know a lot about specifically about Competitive 1v1 and Competitive Pod EDH, as well as Splinter Twin my current modern deck

June 6, 2015 11:26 a.m. Edited.

Dylan says... #35

I also Play Shardless BUG for it's worth, but the legacy base on this site is pretty quiet

June 6, 2015 11:28 a.m.

Jay says... #36

Fluffy is like the only person I see talking legacy lol.

June 6, 2015 11:35 a.m.

okay, somone needs to put together a list for EVERYTHING, not just modern.

June 6, 2015 12:02 p.m.

I'm going to put this into social.

June 6, 2015 12:16 p.m.

I know enough about Little and Big Zoo, but would rather play RDW lol.

June 6, 2015 12:42 p.m.

Epochalyptik It's still in General...

June 6, 2015 12:43 p.m.

WicKid52 says... #41

I know quite a bit about living twin, but not a lot of people play that, so I'm not sure how relevant it is.

June 6, 2015 3:34 p.m.

Coinman1863 says... #42

As a revision to my above comment, I'm pretty knowledgeable in RDW, primarily R/W burn. Been running it for a few years now and can provide advice on other kinds as well.

June 6, 2015 3:42 p.m.

-Mufasa- says... #43

This isn't a major archetype in pretty much anything but I know a lot about evolve decks, so maybe put me down for counters.
