In Standard, play Yahenni's Expertise to kill most (if not all) of the things, drop Liliana, the Last Hope because "why not?" Or Grasp of Darkness to finish off an obscenely strong guy.
Also, technical question... This wouldn't allow you to drop Ancestral Vision or Lotus Bloom, would it? Their restriction to not be cast from the hand applies even to Expertise, right?

Yahenni's Expertise + Restore Balance sounds really fun :)

"I'll take away everything you have. And the thing left over better be x/4 or I'll take that one aswell".
I'd rather see this in b/u/x to cast free Ancestral Visions.

Featured as our main spoiler thread! If you can, please edit the original post with some links to info about the set and to mythicspoiler, MTGS, or other spoiler sites.

@Zaueski, if you want to make this like, an official spoiler thread, you could add some more information into the original post. Set abbreviation, symbol, number of cards, release date, prerelease date, links to where to get more info on the set, etc
:)
December 1, 2016 11:13 a.m.
Yeah, no problem. I'll update the post with the info later today when I can use my computer.
December 1, 2016 11:20 a.m.
I guess this also means that WotC still haven't managed to plug the leak that has been plaguing them for the last few sets.
December 1, 2016 11:48 a.m. Edited.
EpicFreddi the pictures are a bit fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure its exactly 3

Updated the original post, let me know if I missed anything or if the link/pictures start bugging out.

Yahenni's Expertise is obscenely good. Almost Languish, but cast something cheaper than it for free? I want some of that! Hey, Atony1400 check it out!

So is Yahenni a new 'Walker in the set? If Expertise is any reflection of his (her?) ability, it seems good to me.

...and the gods at WotC decreed "let there be board wipes," and there were board wipes.
December 1, 2016 2 p.m.
Yep, I did 20IzzetEngineer00,
I'm considering that new removal as a replacement for Crux of Fate, but any -X/-X removal is sketchy because it's not a guarantee that everything dies.
Also, love how there's the catch in Trophy Mage! You do get access to swords, but not EDH staples like Swiftfoot Boots or Lightning Greaves, because they cost .

Expertise is a bit useless in Living End and Restore balance... I mean, both of these cards are to be cheated for one less mana and are actually wrathes on their own. Not to mention, in living end it's actually really bad: you don't want to revive your opponent's board by playing LE...
December 1, 2016 4:08 p.m.
Oh Yeah.... I like it with Visionsand Snapcaster Mage tho
December 1, 2016 4:12 p.m.
All of these seem fake and none are confirmed, so I'm gonna say none of them exist.
December 1, 2016 5:39 p.m.
GolgariLeprechaun says... #23
Siyanor MaRo confirmed Yahenni's Expertise at least. Besides, the photo hardly looks like a fake.
December 1, 2016 5:53 p.m.
That blue guys getting the ban hammer and that black card reminds me of blood braid elf
December 1, 2016 7:24 p.m.
So, is it safe to say they took the Cascade mechanic but just removed the "or less" clause?
Or is it like Transmute?
December 1, 2016 7:41 p.m.
I believe the words you're looking for on Trophy Mage is "hard tutor". The wrath is more cascade-ey in my opinion.

Yahenni has apparently been confirmed to be an Aetherborn Vampire, making them a legendary creature. The card also has flavor text.
Even though Kaladesh has no actual vampires, apparently Yahenni's life draining ability is close (and rare) enough to be considered vampiric.

I thought wizards stopped making 4CMC mass removal. Yahenni's Expertise could be the answer W/B control needed.
December 1, 2016 9:39 p.m.
GolgariLeprechaun says... #29
AgentGreen Languish literally just rotated out with origins. I don't think not having a 4 cmc board wipe for 4 months constitutes Wizards not making mass removal anymore.

Yahenni's expertise is an amazing card, but too inexpensive for what it does; it is a slightly lesser version of Languish, but with a very powerful additional effect for the same mana cost, so it should have cost at least 5 mana, in my mind.
I believe that that card, combined with this week's story, makes it safe to presume that Yahenni shall be a legendary creature in Aether Revolt.
December 2, 2016 12:01 a.m.
GolgariLeprechaun What MaRo confirmed was a creature named Yahenni, not Yahenni's Expertise. MTGS lists it as Unconfirmed and the image there is an obvious fake.
December 2, 2016 12:56 a.m.
Siyanor what about it makes it an obvious fake? It looks like a normal game day promo and appears to have all the correct numbers in the bottom corner, despite being hard to make out... Looks like 73/184 to me which is right about where Black should be...
December 2, 2016 1:08 a.m.
Um. The text is totally misaligned, it's missing a period, and it says MTGS right on it. The image is also different from the description given by the source.
December 2, 2016 1:47 a.m.
Do these full-art promos normally have the foil dot at the bottom? Yaheeni's Expertise and Scrap Trawler seem to be missing it, Trophy Mage has it, and Quicksmith Rebel has that spot covered.

EpicFreddi says... #36
When it's 4BB it's way less impressive. I could see it at 3BB, but 6cmc is just too much. :(
December 2, 2016 4:01 a.m.
elpokitolama says... #37
Here are some other pictures of the cards. Imo, these are real or extremly well crafted fakes. Not to mention, you can't find their art anywhere -exepted for the expertise, which has been featured in this week's magic's story while the spoiler has been revealed one week ago-.

Is it just me or does Yahenni look like Syndicate Trafficker? Maybe they're the same species. He might not be a PW, just a new legendary. But I'm hoping PW if his abilities are like his expertise...
December 2, 2016 7:12 a.m.
Wait so is Yaheeni's Expertise 4BB or 2BB? Source? EpicFreddi?
December 2, 2016 7:44 a.m.
Ooooohhh quicksmith rebel is sweet. Infinite kill combo with Prototype Portal imprinted with any artifact land, i think. Could be sweet in daretti edh
December 2, 2016 9:45 a.m.
You still need another piece to untap Prototype Portal, but sure yeah I guess there's a long and convolute combo there lol
December 2, 2016 9:50 a.m.
Intruder Alarm+Ornithopter/Memnite along with that combo, although it wouldnt fit in Daretti.

Why does Yahenni's expertise say "cast a card" and not "cast a nonland card?" If it allows for any card to be played, should it not say "play" rather than "cast?"
December 2, 2016 11:21 a.m.
GoldGhost012 says... #48
The Expertise only allows spells to be played off it due to the "cast" wording. Lands aren't spells and can't be cast.
December 2, 2016 11:33 a.m.
JerichoDarkstar says... #49
Only non-land cards can be cast. Land cards are not cast. So, if you are casting a 3CMC or less, it wouldn't need to say non-land.
At least, I'm pretty sure that's how that works.
December 2, 2016 11:36 a.m.
DemonDragonJ "play" means cast. It is a wizards changing their wording thing. Look at Rift Bolt's TSP printing vs. its MM printing.
EpicFreddi says... #2
I really like Yahenni's Expertise. Since it gets beyond the 3 toughness mark, with it's second ability I feel like it could be playable in modern. (4 mana spent, 7 mana reward is great imo).
