Is there any current information on the difference between the old Antiquities set and the upcoming The Brothers' War set? Both cover the same event, which lasted for decades. Will it be a straight retelling, a reinterpretation, a more in-depth description of one particular moment, or something else?
I haven't seen any kind of info other than the name, release window and confirmation of accompanying commander decks.
The Brothers' War is one of my favorite Magic stories and I really hope they don't cut it up and "reboot" it but it would not surprise me if they did. My (slightly unrealistic) hope is that they just make all the old novels more easily available through whatever random digital means people use these days.
Come to think of it, maybe the best way to go about this is to do what they did with the Neon Dynasty sagas and just have a brief recap of events for each section tied to new saga cards, then have the "download the whole story at" blahblahblah.
Whatever they end up doing, I'm incredibly excited for the set. Easily my most anticipated set since Commander Legends.

No planeswalkers were involved in the story of the Brothers' War, so I dearly hope that there are none in this set, but that is very unlikely, indeed, so I wonder how WotC shall fit them into the set; perhaps they shall do what they did with the first five planeswalkers in Lorwyn, who had no involvement in the story.

Having a set with no Planeswalker would be really interesting. They do have one that they could use, though... Epilogue/post-war, newly ascended Urza.
Would probably be insanely broken, though. Lol

There were lots of planeswalkers in the Brothers· War era . Daria , Dyfed , and a handful of others were around at that time .

I do not believe that much information is known at this time, but my own personal presumption is that this set shall be a retelling of the event, from a modern design perspective.
I read all the books that told Urza's story, and The Brothers' War was a full-length novel, so I really hope that WotC does not attempt to reduce it into merely five online stories, as that shall severely reduce the quality of the story and inevitably exclude numerous details.
