Any Chance for Filterlands In Huey?

Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

Pretty self explanatory title to be honest, just wanted to gauge you guys thoughts on the possibility of getting these strangely expensive duals in the next set, especially now we can be confident there won't be any fetches.

RussischerZar says... #2

Would love to get them, although I don't they'll be there.

Why can we be confident there won't be any fetches?

It's still pretty reasonable to hope for fetches in Huey. A lot more so than assuming filterlands will be in it

Although it is by no means definitive, that's why we're in the Speculation forum right? ;) If not filters, what lands are you expecting to see?

Could be, maybe. Or maybe not.

They haven't even spoiled the name of the block yet, so anything speculated at this point would be completely unfounded.

OG Duals are making a comeback!!!! Tropical Island for President!!!!

They better print something in the field of fetches soon before modern prices become any closer to legacy's or have modern suffer the same fate. In reply to OP, i'm with you. The lands will probably be 1 of 3 kinds im guessing. I'll list them in order of what I think is most likely to least likely. New lands with some new mechanic, Filter, Fetch...or i guess even a 4th option that is even less likely to complete a set of land that hasn't been finished in all colors (such as fast lands)

Reprint the old Ally Fetches? It has to be on their table somewhere. It would lower the price of Enemy fetches and give us a shiny new border for them.

VampireArmy says... #11

Or could turn alley fetches into the enemy ones in terms of price. Both legacy and modern need those fetches and i think thats a reason the enemy ones are even where they are. Every multi-colored deck in the competitive sphere runs them (or should at least pack a set) in both formats. I'm all for the reprint of the onslaughts I just hope demand doesn't become so great that modern staples become in the range of 150-500 dollars

People wouldn't be using the ally fetches in addition to enemy ones; the color-fixing is largely the same when we're dealing with shock lands. It would allow people to play UWR Control in Modern and not need Scalding Tarn , for example. The price of the ally fetches could go anywhere at that point, lowering because of more copies in rotation but a higher demand for Modern.

However, I honestly don't think the Modern demand would be too high since you can play a number of different fetches and they all do the exact same thing in your deck.

It has been stated by Wizards that from here on, whenever they print any type of 'dual-land', they will print the complete cycle of 10. So, if they reprint the Ally cycle, then they will also be reprinting the Enemy cycle within the same block/set.

zandl says... #14

But they already have the enemy fetches printed....

Semantics?

May 15, 2014 2:12 p.m.

zandl says... #15

Also, they could sneak them into the inevitable Modern Masters 2.

Wizards has said they will be reprinting enemy and ally lands together from here on out, so good news when they do reprint onslaught fetches, opening new deck possibilities in modern. (I would think that would be good for the format personally)

Back to what Aaron Forsythe has said, he also has said that they were planning a reprint with the Fetch Lands rise in price, though they were not prepared for it to be so soon, but were it was going to happen at some point. He does say it takes time which is understandable, they do have a year in advance, since prices have gone up, till the next block releases. I wish it would happen but that'll probably be an emergency change if it were to happen and that the block has been completed probably closer to two years back from when its released, though not sure how far back they would make it out to be.

They didn't say "if we add new dual lands to Modern, we will add all 10"... they said "anytime they print a set of dual lands, they will print all 10.".

This is not semantics... these are 2 completely different statements.

It is true that they seemed to imply that the were talking about actual Sets / Blocks, so it is not impossible to see them in a MM2, or some other limited production run, like Commander 2015, etc.

But I don't see the logistics behind that. If they want to increase the modern base, it's best to simply print all 10 in a non-limited production; a core set, or within a Block... it's the easiest way to reduce the barrier to entry for the format.

Could just be checklands

Found a note outside of the Wizard's building:

"We're reprinting Pain lands, because fuck you"

It was on the back of a new phyrexia forest that was stapled to a phone poll.

You heard it here first, folks.

VampireArmy says... #20

Check lands are an M set thing though. So yeah probably in m15 but huey will have something else in sure

May 15, 2014 4:07 p.m.

zandl says... #21

I thought Wizards said they're kinda done printing dual-lands in the Core Set for awhile? That's why we didn't get any in M14.

May 15, 2014 4:12 p.m.

That had to do with shocks being ini believe. Mana bases worked a little too well

I personally would much prefer for them to Make Tribal decks stronger encouraging Mono colored decks.

WovenNebula says... #24

I personally would like to see pain lands again printed similar to FTV with new full art and foil , but that's me I have never disliked pain lands.

Schuesseled says... #25

Innistrad had checks.

May 15, 2014 8:46 p.m.

M14 didn't have check lands because Wizards said it would be too powerful in standard with all the dual land capabilities. We had Shocks, guild gates, and now scry lands that would be 4 sources of dual mana straight out the gates. Itd be too easy

I want something to allow my scrylands to enter untapped
