I don't think the villain is Raven Man, the card Structural Distortion implies Nahiri is seeking revenge against Sorin by destroying his home plane. I'm assuming she will use Hedron-like power to turn the Angels evil, so the humans and vampires and wolves will have to team up to save the plane. Clipped Wings further supports the Angels being turned "evil", and would also explain what the shadows over Innistrad are: mad Angels!

I would like to see a reprint of Shepherd of the Lost in this set, since that card could fit on any plane, and, while not being particularly valuable or powerful, is still a very nice card that I think should be seen more frequently.

From the LINK
"Horrors stalk in the shadows. Terrors scratch at doors in the night."
I don't recall seeing that part a few hours ago... or at least it wasn't in bold as it is now.
So.... Horror and/or Nightstalker creatures?
Shadow mechanic?
Terror reprint?
Some sort of door? (Door to Nothingness, Door of Destinies, Bar the Door, Cellar Door)

Cellar Door, a card which looks like total junk outside of limited but which I put on the sideboard of a Legacy deck against Miracles...L.O.L.
"Oh, darn! All of my creatures got tucked to the bottom of my deck. Let me knock on my Cellar Door. Oops! Your Counterbalance is not working for some reason..."
Not that I had any need for it in stomping Miracles in that particular match...L.O.L.

alanwescoat How does that do anything against Miracles? I'm honestly just curious, I don't see how it does much.

TheFoilAjani, what Ravenous added is correct. For the particular deck I was playing, the biggest possible problem was Terminus, though boarding against Terminus turned out not to be necessary.

Sorry, I should add that Counterbalance with Sensei's Divining Top was also a potential problem, so the chance to pull creatures from the bottom of my deck was a good idea.

Previously on Innistrad (cursed blade)
Jimmy_Chinchila, i agree with you to an extent. Nahari went looking for sorin and flayor text point to her having some kind of role in what is happening, but we all know wizards love having multiple things going on at once.
At the end of the orgin stories leading to BfZ Gideon was looking for planeswalkers to help zendikar. That led him to Jace on Ravinica. Lili and Jace were talking when Gideon arrived. Gideon obviously convinces Jace to help, but Jace failed to get Lili to tag along as well, and they went their seperate ways. At the end of that story she was confronted by the raven man. Don't remember what exavtly happened, but he "planeswalked"/vanished.
Another thing, but i maybe wrong, but WotC said we were going to get the Orgin walkers in BfZ, lili was not one of them, but would be featured in the next set. The only thing going on with her(at this time) is the chain vail, her contracts, and her demon killing spree that hold those contracts.

given what we've seen, do you guys predict it living up to the hype? Or has the fefw spoilers we've got indicitive of a considerable power drop? Is it worth it to preorder a box for $110?
On another note: What is SoI's pull? KTK had ffetches. BFZ had eldrazi and Allys. Is SOI's selling point simply: "hey, it's innistrad, DFC"?
March 1, 2016 11:26 a.m.
It's my stores flat rate for all standard boxes. $109 after tax. I don't remember why, but apparently it's cutting us a deal? isn't msrp for Booster boxes $130?
March 1, 2016 11:41 a.m. Edited.
Not much of one. But your store's distributor rates might be higher... cost of living in general might be higher. I assume nothing.
$95 for a box and $35 for a fatpack at my store.

Well, the thing that gets me is that my dad used to work with the guy who now runs/manages all of Wizards online (read:website) content.
I really want to ask him what that bloody ticker means...
March 1, 2016 11:48 a.m.
Officially from Wizards, all Preorders are cheaper according to my LGS.
March 1, 2016 5:13 p.m.
Wizards has nothing to do with preorder prices? They sell to distributors who sell to vendors. Distributors set the price. Vendors can tweak but have to make a profit. What say does Wizards have in the value of Pre-orders outside of what they sell them to distributors for?

OMG NEW SPOILER BRAIN IN A JAR
WIZARDS JUST MADE A TRIBUTE TO POD. This thing is a worse pod for instants and sorceries. OMG

I love it just for flavor - that's such classic mad science.
Is the countdown clock for when spoilers start, you think? A month before the prerelease?
March 1, 2016 6:58 p.m.
The art though, who needs a Laboratory Maniac when you got the art on that Brain in a Bottle.
March 1, 2016 7:23 p.m.
The countdown is probably for the Story part of the page
March 1, 2016 7:32 p.m.
The Angels were created to keep balance right? Maybe now that Griselbrand is dead there's too much good going on so the angels have to evil it up a little bit?
March 1, 2016 8:35 p.m.
TMBRLZ I said that is what I heard from the owner of one of my LGS. He said that Wizards set the price lower for Preorders. Regular boxes remain the same price.
Viewing the thread it looks like that information is for more than just my area as with tax a Preordered box comes to $110. A box not Preordered comes regular price.
I can't explain past what I was told by a LGS owner.
March 1, 2016 9:26 p.m.
really quick. not sure emrakul will make an appearance especially considering the existance of the gatewatch now. that would mean chandra, jace, gideon, nissa coming to innistrad (two sets in a row?) where nahiri, sorin, and liliana(?) are set to make an appearance.
but i'm glad madness is making a comeback especially with discarding being prevalent in a set about horrors of the mind.
March 1, 2016 10:24 p.m.
tempest - Only Jace is going to Innistrad. Gideon, Chandra, and Nissa are staying on Zendikar for the time being.
March 1, 2016 10:27 p.m.
That's correct as far as we know JWiley129 but we can still get Nahiri, Liliana, Sorin, and Garruk. Probably all new. That's not counting any surprising pop ups.
To be fair, in my personal opinion, the Planeswalkers we have for this coming block tend to be better than those included in BFZ. Jace being the obvious exception because it looks like he will be in both.
Granted I'm looking purely from an EDH standpoint. Some stuff doesn't translate well, like any Chandra.

I am aroused. I am aroused in a very weird way and I have problems looking at the mirror for being aroused, but I haven't quite been as excited since they announced fetch lands for Khans. Maybe Innistrad might actually be able to redeem for the god-awful Battle for Zendikar block.
March 2, 2016 11:09 a.m.
A werewolf Planeswalker?
Hype trains goes into overdrive.
March 2, 2016 11:25 a.m.
LittleBlueHero says... #36
The most exciting part of this is that she can "Control her transformation"
I really hope that means she is teaching other lycans to do the same and we see werewolves where their flip activations are different than what we have seen... something we have more control of.
I also hope having a Wolf Walker doesn't mean we won't get a legendary Werewolf.
March 2, 2016 11:41 a.m.
So this means either a) This planeswalker is not gonna be a flip card b) This planeswalker is not going to be in the Shadows over Innistrad set, but Eldritch Moon instead) or c) the double faced card checklist that has been spoiled is fake.
March 2, 2016 11:56 a.m.
I doubt she's going to be a flip card. Every flip planeswalker they've printed (that I can think of) does not transform in both directions. In the past when a plansewalker has made a temporary creature transformation, it's just templated as one of their abilities (Gideon, Sarkhan, etc). I'd expect something similar for her (though I wouldn't be surprised if she was a flip card either).

@saj0219: Garruk Relentless
Flip?
Edit: Okay, I now get what you mean. I actually expect her to be a two-sided card, both of which being a planeswalker.
March 2, 2016 1:03 p.m. Edited.
As a reminder, Flip cards are those from Kamigawa block like Budoka Gardener. Double Faced cards are those from Innistrad and the planeswalkers from Magic Origns (e.g. Huntmaster of the Fells Flip and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip).

Well, that's why we all love it I guess! :p
Seriously, the hype-o-meter fucking blew up.

secondwhiteline says... #44
Yeah, I'm just gonna keep using "flip" for Origins walkers and Innistrad stuff. Just like how I'm never going to get in the habit of saying "generic mana." Some things are just more intuitive.
But seriously WEREWOLF PLANESWALKER. The only way this could get better is if they straight-up made Vincent Price and Peter Cushing cards for this block.
March 2, 2016 2:36 p.m.
Grantley91 says... #45
Did they actually show the card for the new Werewalker or just the story?
March 2, 2016 2:47 p.m.
canterlotguardian says... #46
We still need a werewolf Legend. R/G preferably. Still though, this is perfect.
March 2, 2016 2:48 p.m.
Kroto - Her character description doesn't have many of the black trappings. The current speculation is that she's some subset of Naya ().
