Announced during GP Indy, the Spring 2016 set is Shadows over Innistrad!
Edits for FAQ:
- Here is Mark Rosewater on why we're getting two returns in a row.

I'm thinking as someone has already said; Zombies may be a think.
Picked up a Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, think I'm going to hold on to that

Aberrant Researcher seems pretty strong for Limited.
For either Limited or Constructed:
T2: Heir of Falkenrath
T3: Discard Incorrigble Youths to Heir, flip Heir, cast Youths of Madness, attack with 7 on turn 3. GG?
March 4, 2016 12:09 p.m.
JohnnyBaggins - Only thing is that those are two uncommons, and the likelihood that you have both of them in the same deck (In Limited) is low. It's certainly a beating, but not super likely.

JWiley129 Sure. But it's doable. If your neighbours send you/are sent into the appropriate colours, it shouldn't be impossible to do. Then again, this kind of beating seems good enough for constructed.

So i counted, there are currently 14 zombies in the current post khans/fate reforged cardpool. Not counting spoiled cards from SOI.
Risen Executioner as the Lord. Sidisi, Undead Vizier for tutoring and feeding the graveyard.
Also Sibsig Icebreakers and Undead Servant suddenly look a lot nicer and the honorable mention goes to Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet for synergy.
brewing intensifies

AgentGreen says... #9
Stormcaller would you go with mono-black zombie, or B/U?
March 4, 2016 12:29 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #10
i'm brewing vamps again...different than last time because no Vampire Nighthawk :(
March 4, 2016 12:29 p.m.
VampireArmy - Vampire Nighthawk is all kinds of absurd though...
March 4, 2016 12:33 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #12
I'm not saying it should be printed. I just miss it
Kalitas plus drana should be good enough anyways.
March 4, 2016 12:39 p.m.
Stormcaller says... #13
AgentGreen probably B/U because the last Innistrad contained zombies in those colours and as the current spoilers show this is also going to be the case this time around.
But the only non SOI B/U zombie that is going to be in the SOI standard is Possessed Skaab. I just didn't mention that one.
March 4, 2016 12:40 p.m.
Fleshbag Marauder will likely see a bit of play here and there... if you can return creatures to the battlefield easily, forcing all players to sac gets much better.

Rayenous I didn't think about ol'fleshy but it'will definitely fit well with all those upcoming cards.
Question: Can Relentless Dead's abilities both be activated at once? i.e. bringing it back to your Hand and reviving a zombie?
And what about Grimgrin, Corpse-Born? Ist he still undead and well?
March 4, 2016 12:58 p.m.
Relentless dead excited me. Now if I can get a 2 mana vanilla zombie lord I will be super happy with this set.
March 4, 2016 1:03 p.m.
Geralf's Masterpiece can and will be broken. You may see it in modern.
Relentless Dead is awesome. I wasn't so hot on it until I realised that your opponent HAS to kill it before you untapped to avoid you getting value (unless exile, at which point, I cri everytiem).
Wait... Why wasn't Relentless Dead the cover card for Cursed? 0_0
Madness cards are madness cards.
I laugh historically whenever someone says that Pick The Brain is a Cranial Extraction with Delirium. It isn't. It's a 3 mana Lobotomy (well, minus being unable to take nonbasics).

elpokitolama says... #19
The Masterpiece will see play in Sultai Dredgevine, as it is much easier to play than Skaab Ruinator (only one blue needed) and has a super interaction with Life from the Loam. :D

FAMOUSWATERMELON says... #20
Relentless Dead looks amazing. It's too bad you have to keep mana open for the ability, but it remains a 2/2 menace for 2.
March 4, 2016 1:55 p.m.
O_O Relentless Dead for Zombie EDH? MINE. NOW. GIMMIE. Also, I like that the background in the art is a nod to Endless Ranks of the Dead.
March 4, 2016 1:56 p.m.
Monsmtg: Said junk blue mythic would be good in a U/B Zombie tribal EDH deck, so it has some use.

secondwhiteline says... #25
Olivia, that neck guard is excessive. I don't think you need to worry about vampire bites.
March 4, 2016 2:20 p.m.
All junk ends up in an EDH deck if we're going to be realistic. One of my former coworkers at my LGS was infamous for going through our junk rare boxes and making great EDH decks of nothing but cards that were 75 cents or cheaper per card.
March 4, 2016 2:20 p.m.
Phaetion, most certainly, I just mean in terms of value. EDH is unable to really drive prices of non staples. When I say junk I say bad in Standard, Modern or otherwise.
March 4, 2016 2:21 p.m.
I think this is a set where have could potentially be banned from the looks of things. Might be too early to say, but it enables everything in the set so far
March 4, 2016 2:39 p.m.
On a side note, does anyone think werewolf CoCo with Atarka's Command will be a thing?
March 4, 2016 2:40 p.m.
Not if Atarka Red is still faster... most the wolves will probably sit at a CMC between 2 and 5
March 4, 2016 3:22 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #32
i don't think "atarka red" will survive in it's current form
March 4, 2016 3:37 p.m.
Not in it's current form maybe. I won't be surprised if SOI slows down the format as a whole, but RDW never truly dies.
March 4, 2016 3:44 p.m.
JohnnyBaggins says... #34
Since Hordeling Outburst and Swiftspear will rotate, I doubt atarka Red will prevail.

Wanna know what would actually make me shit my pants for Innistrad?
We have decided that, from here on out, all sets will have Full Art basic lands.
March 4, 2016 3:59 p.m.
If that happens, the value of all full-art versions plummet.
Keeping them an 'occasional' thing is what keep them special and valuable.
March 4, 2016 4:05 p.m.
elpokitolama says... #37
HOLY BLOODY SHIT FOR REAL?
It is the best decision WotC ever made by far, but... Link or never happened :p
March 4, 2016 4:07 p.m.
HOLY SHIT THATS AMAZING!
so doing U/B zombies with the masterpiece!
March 4, 2016 4:10 p.m.
JohnnyBaggins says... #39
Other than Unhinged - and those will never change - the full art cards aren't worth more than 30 cents anymore. And arguing that they aren't valuable anymore isn't relevant at all.
Imagine all the art from Innistrad on full art lands. Man.
Man.
March 4, 2016 4:11 p.m.
The $6-$10 foils say there's still vale.
Full art foils would quickly become $0.25 to $0.50 cards if they make that announcement.
I'm not really for or against the idea, but it would certainly annoy the people I know who are collecting the foils.

I saw someone was mentioning that the spoiled Olivia had too massive of a neck guard, and all I can think of (probably due to watching waaaaay too much Supernatural) is that she's trying to protect herself from a beheading. Just makes me laugh.
March 4, 2016 4:34 p.m.
someone on reddit brought this up: What is that in the corner???
March 4, 2016 4:40 p.m.
Grantley91 says... #45
Batman?
But more seriously, might be too early to suggest this but could be our friendly neighborhood Eldrazi titan...
March 4, 2016 4:42 p.m.
if you watch then animation, its just clouds moving CheeseBro
March 4, 2016 5:03 p.m.
that art is pretty jacked up...
Sooo Sorin vs Nahiri duel deck? Yes please? I'd love that.
March 4, 2016 5:38 p.m.
I wouldn't mind a Sorin v Nahiri deck.
I assume it would be Sorin, Solemn Visitor and since there's only Nahiri, the Lithomancer.
Could be interesting and flavorful obviously.
AgentGreen says... #1
Relentless Dead; now that is a card worthy of mythic.
Definitely going to need to keep exile removal close to keep that thing out of the game, leave it untouched and you risk having your opponent bring out an even BIGGER zombie; something that may be easy to do with all the discards in play
